GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY

WARNINGS

WARNING: Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.

The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or batteryoperated (cordless) power tool.

WORK AREA SAFETY

□ Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.

□ Do not operate power tools in explosive atmosphere, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.

□ Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

□ Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electrical shock.

□ Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.

□ Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.

□ Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool.

Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.

□ When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.

□ If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a RESIDUAL CURRENT

DEVICE (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.

PERSONAL SAFETY

□ Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool.

Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.

□ Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.

□ Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source and/or BATTERY pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.

□ Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.

□ Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.

□ Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.

□ If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dustrelated hazards.

□ Do not let familiarity gained from frequent use of tools allow you to become complacent and ignore tool safety principles. A careless action can cause severe injury within a fraction of a second.

POWER TOOL USE AND CARE

□ Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.

□ Do not use power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.

□ Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the BATTERY pack, if detachable, from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.

□ Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.

□ Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.

□ Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.

□ Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits, etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.

□ Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations.

BATTERY TOOL USE AND CARE

□ Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of BATTERY pack may create a risk of fire when used with another BATTERY pack.

□ Use power tools only with specifically designated BATTERY packs. Use of any other

BATTERY packs may create a risk of injury and fire.

□ When BATTERY pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the

BATTERY terminals together may cause burns or a fire.

□ Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the BATTERY; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water.

If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the BATTERY may cause irritation or burns.

□ Do not use a BATTERY pack or tool that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behaviour resulting in fire, EXPLOSION or risk of injury.

□ Do not expose a BATTERY pack or tool to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 130 °C may cause explosion.

□ Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the BATTERY pack or tool outside the temperature range specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside the specified range may damage the BATTERY and increase the risk of fire.

SERVICE

□ Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

□ Never service damaged BATTERY packs.

Service of BATTERY packs should only be performed by the manufacturer or authorized service providers.

SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES FOR

CORDLESS RATCHET

□ Know what is behind a workpiece before you do the job. Do not cut into existing walls or other blind areas where electrical wiring, water, or gas pipes may exist. If this situation is unavoidable, disconnect all fuses/circuit breakers, and shut off any water and gas lines feeding this work site.

□ Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces, when performing an operation where the fastener may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Fasteners contacting a “live” wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool “live” and could give the operator an electric shock.

□ Avoid overload working.

□ Do not touch bits, sockets, ratchet component and workpiece immediately after use. They may be very hot and could burn skin when touching them after use.

□ Be prepared for a reaction torque when

“seating” or removing a fastener. The tool housing may tend to twist in the opposite direction of bit rotation when “seating” or removing a fastener, depending on the torque setting of the tool.

□ Do not use worn or damaged sockets and accessories. Insert the socket well onto the anvil. Be sure that the socket has locked onto the anvil correctly.

□ Do not store or use the tool in locations where the temperature may reach or exceed 140°F

(60°C), which can lead to deterioration of the battery.

□ Do not incinerate the tool even if it is seriously damaged or is completely worn out. This tool contains Li-Ion batteries, the batteries can explode in a .

If within two years from date of purchase, this Husky product fails due to a defect in materials or workmanship, return the product to any Home Depot retail store with a receipt indicating proof of purchase for free repair (or replacement if repair is not possible). INTENDED USE

□ This tool is intended for the fastening and loosening of bolts, nuts and various threaded fasteners within the respective range of dimensions. This cordless ratchet has a square anvil that accepts only standard 3/8” (10 mm) sockets.

□ DO NOT use under wet conditions or in presence of flammable liquids or gases. DO NOT let children come into contact with the tool. Supervision is required when inexperienced operators use this tool.

□

Avoid the possibility of accidental starting, always make sure that the lock button is slid to the locked position before making any adjustments or removing/installing accessories.

WARNING: Before attempting to use this cordless tool, become familiar with all of its operating features and safety requirements.

NOTE: This tool is not fully charged on leaving the factory. Charge the tool before first use.

SAFETY FEATURES

The tool has safety features that will prevent low-voltage, over temperature, and over current damage to the tool or battery. The following conditions may cause temporary shutdown of the tool as a safety feature to the user, as well as to prolong the life of the tool and battery.

□ Low-voltage protection: indicated by one remaining power LED and worklight flashing. This means the voltage has reached the lowest limit allowed by the manufacturer and the tool will stop operation to prolong battery life. The battery voltage may recover after a small rest period. To do more work, the tool will need charging.

□ Over temperature protection: indicated by three remaining power LEDs flashing. When the tool is used under heavy load continuously, the maximum allowable temperature of the battery may be reached, and the tool will temporary stop working and will not restart until it has cooled to a safe level.

□ Over current protection: indicated by three remaining power LEDs flashing at high speed. When the tool is used in an extra-heavy duty application, the current limit may be reached, causing shutdown of the tool power. Tool operation can be resumed immediately after releasing the switch.

Operation

Charging the ratchet

□ Turn off the lock button (D).

□ Connect charger (G) to the tool. Align the raised portion on the charger connector with the groove on the charging inlet of the tool and insert it in position.

□ Plug into an appropriate outlet.

□ During the charging process, the charging lights will indicate the charging status as follows:

- Less than 30% charged: all three charging lights will blink in sequence.

- Less than 60% charged: one light will stay on, while the other two lights will blink in sequence.

- Over 60% charged: two lights will stay on, while the remaining light will blink continuously.

- Fully charged: all three lights will remain on continuously.

□ The charging process will be last approximately 70 minutes and permanent lighting of all three charging lights (F) will indicate charging is complete.

Installing and removing a socket

□ Make sure that the lock button (D) is turned off.

□ To install a socket, slide it onto the anvil (A) of the tool and simply push it until it locks in place.

□ To remove a socket, pull it off the anvil (A). A

CAUTION: Use only accessories that are recommended for this ratchet.

Inspect sockets prior to use to ensure that they have no cracks or other visible damage.

Using the Lock b utton

□ To lock the paddle switch (C), slide the lock button

(D) to the locked position. To unlock the paddle switch (C), slide the lock button (D) to the unlocked position. The paddle switch (C) will not work when the lock button (D) is in the locked position.

WARNING: Always lock the paddle switch before performing maintenance, changing accessories, storing the tool and any time the tool is not in use.

Turning the ratchet on and off

□ Release the lock button (D) by pushing it forward.

□ To start the tool, press the paddle switch (C).

□ To stop the tool, release the paddle switch (C).

□ For forward (clockwise) rotation, rotate the forward/reverse lever (B) counterclockwise. Check the direction of rotation before use.

□ For reverse (counterclockwise) rotation, rotate the forward/reverse lever (B) clockwise. Check the direction of rotation before use.

□ When the tool is switched on, the LED worklight (E) also comes on to ensure better vision and to make working in dark areas safer.

□ Install the correct socket to match the bolt or nut.

□ Apply just enough pressure to keep the socket engaged on the bolt or nut.

□ Position the forward/reverse lever (B) in the correct position for forward rotation.

□ Initially apply minimal pressure to the paddle switch

(C). Increase the speed only when full control can be maintained.

Storing the ratchet

□ Install the correct socket to match the bolt or nut.

□ Apply just enough pressure to keep the socket engaged on the bolt or nut.

□ Position the forward/reverse lever (B) in the correct position for reverse rotation.

□ Initially apply minimal pressure to the paddle switch

(C). Increase the speed only when full control can be maintained.

NOTE: If the bolt or nut is too tight to release when the paddle switch is pressed at the beginning, you can try to loosen the bolt or nut manually rst, and then press the paddle switch.

□ Do not expose your tool and charger to water or rain, this could cause damage.

□ Fully charge the tool before placing it in storage. For optimum life, store the tool at room temperature away from moisture. Permanent capacity loss can result if tool is stored for a long period at high temperature.

Every six months of storage, fully charge the tool.

Maintenance

Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts.

Most plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean clothes to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc. Keep tool handles clean, dry and free of oil or grease.

WARNING: Reduce the risk of personal injury and damage, never immerse your tool or charger in liquid or allow a liquid to ow inside them.

WARNING: To avoid serious personal injury, always unplug the charger and lock the paddle switch before cleaning or performing any maintenance.

Never disassemble the tool or charger.

Contact a service facility for all repairs.

When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. The use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause damage to the product.

USO PREVISTO

□ Esta herramienta está diseñada para fijar y aflojar tornillos, tuercas y diversos elementos de sujeción con rosca dentro de la respectiva gama de dimensiones. Este trinquete inalámbrico tiene un encastre macho cuadrado que acepta solamente dados estándar de 3/8” (10 mm).

□ NO LO UTILICE en condiciones húmedas o en presencia de líquidos o gases inflamables. NO PERMITA que los niños entren en contacto con la herramienta. Es necesario mantener una supervisión constante si un operador inexperto utiliza esta herramienta.

□

Evite la posibilidad de un arranque accidental; asegúrese siempre de que el botón de bloqueo se deslice hacia la posición de bloqueo antes de realizar cualquier ajuste, extracción o instalación de accesorios.

CARACTERÍSTICAS DE SEGURIDAD

□ Protección de bajo voltaje: se indica mediante una luz LED de energía restante y la luz de trabajo se mantiene intermitente. Esto significa que el voltaje ha alcanzado el límite mínimo permitido por el fabricante y la herramienta dejará de funcionar para prolongar la vida útil de la batería. El voltaje de la batería se puede recuperar después de un período de reposo corto. Para seguir funcionando, la herramienta necesitará cargarse.

□ Protección contra exceso de temperatura: se indica mediante tres luces LED de energía restante que parpadean.

Cuando se utiliza la herramienta bajo una carga fuerte de manera continua, puede alcanzarse la máxima temperatura admisible de la batería, y la herramienta dejará de funcionar temporalmente. No reiniciará su funcionamiento hasta que se haya enfriado a un nivel seguro.

Carga del trinquete

□ Desactive el botón de bloqueo (D).

□ Conecte el cargador (G) a la herramienta. Alinee la parte elevada en el conector del cargador con la ranura sobre la entrada para cargar la herramienta e insértelo en su lugar.

□ Conecte el aparato a un tomacorriente adecuado.

□ Durante el proceso de carga, las luces de carga indicarán el estado de carga de la siguiente manera:

- Menos de un 30% de carga: las tres luces de carga parpadear á n en secuencia.

- Menos del 60 % de carga: una luz permanecerá encendida, mientras que las otras dos parpadearán en secuencia.

- Más del 60 % de carga: dos luces permanecerán encendidas, mientras que la luz restante parpadeará continuamente.

- Totalmente cargada: las tres luces permanecerán encendidas continuamente.

□ El proceso de carga dura aproximadamente 70 minutos y la iluminación permanente de las tres luces de carga (F) indicará que la carga ha finalizado.

Instalación y extracción de un dado

Uso de la luz de trabajo

Para apretar los tornillos y tuercas

□

Instale el dado correcto para que coincida con el tornillo o tuerca.

Aplique suficiente presión para mantener el dado conectado en el tornillo o tuerca.

Coloque la palanca de avance/retroceso (B) en la posición correcta para la rotación hacia adelante.

□

Inicialmente, aplique una presión mínima al interruptor de paleta (C). Aumente la velocidad solo cuando pueda mantener un control completo.

Almacenamiento del trinquete

□

No exponga la herramienta y el cargador al agua o lluvia, esto podría causar daños.

□

Cargue completamente la herramienta antes de guardarla. Para que su herramienta tenga una vida útil

óptima, guárdela a temperatura ambiente lejos de la humedad. Si el instrumento se almacena durante un largo período a alta temperatura, puede ocurrir una pérdida de capacidad permanente. A cada seis meses de almacenamiento, cargue completamente la herramienta.

NOTA: Si el tornillo o la tuerca están demasiado apretados para soltar cuando se presiona el interruptor de paleta al inicio, puede intentar aflojar el tornillo o tuerca manualmente primero y, a continuación, presione el interruptor de paleta.

Mantenimiento

No utilice solventes para limpiar las piezas de plástico. La mayoría de los plásticos son susceptibles a sufrir daños de diversos tipos con los solventes comerciales.
