Frequently asked questions

The tools and materials required for installation are listed on the first page of the instructions. You will need a 5/32" drill bit, an electric or hand drill, a caulking gun, a tape measure, a level (24" min.), screwdrivers (standard & Phillips), a hole saw (faucet/spray head holes), countersink bit, silicone sealant (optional), two (2) 1” x 3” x 6 ft. boards, gypsum cement (optional), deck screws, framing lumber (as required), wall board (W/R rated, as required), and fiberglass insulation (optional).

The Durabase shower floor must be installed on a sub-floor and should be leveled in both directions. You can optionally install the floor on a bed of gypsum cement or panel/floor adhesive for additional support. The shower floor has six mounting clips that will need to be secured to the stud wall using the screws provided.

The shower wall panels have pre-marked holes that should be pre-drilled with a 5/32" drill bit before installation. The panels are designed to accept standard deck screws. You will need to install the center panel first, followed by the corner panels. The side panels will then be attached to the corner panels.
