1 GENERAL

The log/temp transducer is an impeller transducer installed through the hull and designed to meet the requirements of owners of sailing crafts and power boats.

3. CORRECT LOCATION OF PADDLEWHEEL TRANSDUCER

LOG

Generally the transducer should be placed as far forward as possible along the waterline length and close to the centreline.

It is important that the transducer is always in the water, within the whole speed range of the boat. Please note that the actual waterline length of fast power boats shortens considerably at high speeds. Therefore the transducer should be placed at 25-35% along the true waterline from the bow, when at full speed

Sailboats with a fin keel must have the transducer located at least 25 cm but not more than 75 cm in front of the keel. It should be placed no more than 10 cm off the centreline.

On sailboats with a pronounced “V” in the hull, such as full-keel yachts, it might be favourable to angle the transducer slightly so that it aims at the bow, rather than directly parallel to the centreline.

This will help balanced the passing waterflow measurement from one tack to another.

Avoid placing the transducer near the edge of sharp hull chines. Transverse waterflow in these areas can affect the accuracy of measurements.

If you have a questions about the location of the through-hull, contact your builder, yacht dealer, or other owners of similar boats for advice. Always remember to allow for accessibility from the inside of the yacht when determining the final location.

4. INSTALLING THE THROUGH HULL FITTING

1. Use a 43 mm (1 11/16”) hole cutter to cut through the hull. (See section 3 for correct location).

2. Apply the polyurethane sealing compound on the outer flange of the through-hull fitting and tighten the nut on the inside by hand.

3.

Slide both rubber O-rings on the dummy plug.

4. Generously apply the silicone grease to the exterior of the dummy plug.

5. Install the dummy plug in the through-hull fitting. Use a slow twisting motion and be sure that is properly seated into the fitting.

6. With the dummy plug properly installed in the through –hull fitting, mount the fitting so that the handle is exactly at right angles (90º ) to the boats centreline. (For pronounced V-hulls see section 3).

7. When this outer sealant has cured, remove the nut and apply sealant on the inside. Tighten the nut again by hand.

8. Install the wire locking device onto the dummy plug /paddlewheel transducer.

5. CONNECTION TO INSTRUMENT/CONTACTS

The log/temp transducer connects to the Nexus Server or directly to the Nexus Speed Log.

The transducer cable is clearly marked with No 1 and the colours will correspond to input screw terminal on the Server.

If the 8 m transducer cable needs to be cut, use the extra cable protectors supplied. Press the protectors on to each wire with a pair of flat pliers.

6. CALIBRATION

Calibration is carried out in the Multi Control instrument or the speed log instrument (see manual).

8 WARRANTY

GENERAL

All our products are designed and built to comply to the highest class industry standards. If the products are correctly installed, maintained and operated, as described in the installation and operation manual, they will provide long and reliable service. Our international Network of distributors can provide you with the information and assistance you may require virtually anywhere in the world.

Please read through and fill in this warranty card and send it to your national distributor for product registration.

LIMITED WARRANTY

The warranty covers repair of defective parts due to faulty Manufacturing and includes labour when repaired in the country of purchase. The warranty period is stated in the product manual, and commences from the date of purchase. The above warranty is the Manufacturer’s only warranty and no other terms, expressed or implied, will apply. The Manufacturer specifically excludes the implied warranty of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

CONDITIONS

• The supplied warranty card and receipt with proof of purchase date, must be shown to validate any warranty claim. Claims are to be made in accordance with the claims procedure outlined below.

• The warranty is non-transferrable and extends only to the original purchaser.

• The warranty does not apply to Products from which serial numbers have been removed, faulty installation or incorrect fusing, to conditions resulting from improper use, external causes, including service or modifications not performed by the Manufacturer or by its national distributors, or operation outside the environmental parameters specified for the Product.

• The Manufacturer will not compensate for consequential damage caused directly or indirectly by the malfunction of its equipment. The Manufacturer is not liable for any personal damage caused as a consequence of using its equipment.

• The Manufacturer, its national distributors or dealers are not liable for charges arising from sea trials, installation surveys or visits to the boat to attend to the equipment, whether under warranty or not. The right is reserved to charge for such services at an appropriate rate.

• The Manufacturer reserves the right to replace any products returned for repair, within the warranty period, with the nearest equivalent, if repair within a reasonable time period should not be possible.

• The terms and conditions of the warranty as described do not affect your statutory rights.

CLAIMS PROCEDURE

Equipment should be returned to the national distributor, or one of its appointed dealers, in the country where it was originally purchased. Valid claims will then be serviced and returned to the sender free of charge.

Alternatively, if the equipment is being used away from the country of purchase, it may be returned to the national distributor, or one of its appointed dealers, in the country where it is being used. In this case valid claims will cover parts only. Labour and return postage will be invoiced to the sender at an appropriate rate.

DISCLAIMER

Common sense must be used at all times when navigating and the Manufacturer’s navigation equipment should only be considered as aids to navigation.

The Manufacturers policy of continuous improvement may result in changes to product specification without prior notice.

3. PLACERING AV PADDELHJULSGIVAREN

LOG

Allmänt skall givaren placeras så långt fram som möjligt på vattenlinjens längd och nära mittlinje.

Viktigt är att givaren alltid kommer att befinna sig i vattnet i hela fartregistret.

För snabbgående motorbåtar bör man tänka på att båtens vattenlinjelängd förkortas ner ordentligt i högre farter. Placera givaren på 25% - 30% av vattenlinjens längd räknat framifrån. (Obs! I normalt gångläge, planing).

Fenkölade segelbåtar skall ha givaren 25 - 75 cm framför kölen och max 10 cm vid sidan av mittlinjen.

Svenska

På segelbåtar med starkt V-format skrov, som t.ex långkölade båtar, kan det vara gynnsamt att vrida givaren en aning så att den pekar mot stäven.

Med detta erhåller man så lika egenskaper på olika bogar som möjligt.

Undvik att placera givaren nära skarpa slag där tvärgående vattenströmmar har en störande inverkan. Vid tveksamhet, kontakta Din handledare eller ägare till liknande båtar med logg av paddelhjulstyp.

Glöm ej åtkomligheten från insidan innan den slutliga placeringen bestämmes!

4. MONTERING AV SKROVGENOMFÖRINGEN

1. Ta upp ett hål med en 43 mm hålsåg. (Se avsnitt 3 betr. placering.).

2. Lägg tätningsmassa (för undervattensbruk)runt genomföringens yttre fläns och skruva åt mutter på insidan för hand.

3. Montera de båda O-ringarna på blindpluggen.

4. Smörj in blindpluggen med siliconfett.

5. Placera blindpluggen i skrovgenomföringen med hjälp av en långsam vridning. Kontrollera att blindpluggen är låst i bajonett-fattningen.

6. Montera skrovgenomföringen så att blindpluggens handtag hamnar vinkelrätt mo båtens långlångskeppsriktning. (För V-formade skrov, se kapitel 3).

7. När tätningsmassan har stelnat ,skruva av muttern och lägg tätningsmassan även på insidan.

Skruva åter åt muttern för hand.

8. Sätt dit säkerhetsbygeln på blindpluggen/ paddelhjulsgivaren.

5.INKOPPLINGEN TILL INSTRUMENT/ANSLUTNINGAR

Anslut logg/temp-givaren till Nexus Server eller direkt till ett Nexus logginstrument.

Givarkabeln är tydlig markerad med nummer 3 samt med färger som stämmer överens med

Serverns kopplingsterminal.

Skulle du behöva kapa 8 meters kabeln, använd de extra medföljande ändhylsorna. Kläm på hylsorna med en platt tång.

6. KALIBRERING

All kalibrering sker i Nexus Multi Control instrumentet eller Nexus Speed Logg instrument.(Se separat bruksanvisning).

8. GARANTI

ALLMÄNT

Alla produkter är utvecklade och tillverkade för att motsvara den yppersta bransch standarden. När produkten

är korrekt installerad, handhavd och underhållen, i enlighet med beskrivningen i produktens manual, kommer den att bidra med många års tillförlitlig drift. Utöver produktens tekniska manual kan också vår världsomspännande återförsäljar- och serviceorganisation bistå med ytterligare information och assistans.

GARANTIOMFATTNING

Garantin täcker reparation av defekta delar som beror av fel hänförda till tillverkningen av produkten. Garantin täcker reservdel samt arbetstid om produkten lämnas in och repareras i det land där produkten inköptes.

Garantiperioden framgår av manualen och börjar löpa från den dag produkten inköptes. Ovanstående garanti är tillverkarens enda garanti, vilket innebär att ytterligare villkor ej är tillämpliga på produkten.

GARANTIVILLKOR

• Produktens inköpskvitto med angivet inköpsdatum och ifyllt garantikort måste medfölja för att validera garantikrav som sker enligt procedur beskriven nedan.

Produktens garanti är inte möjlig att överföra, utan gäller endast för den ursprungliga köparen.

Tillverkaren, tillverkarens distributörer och återförsäljare är inte ansvariga för kostnader i samband med sjötester, felsökningar i båtar, etc, oavsett om produkten är under garanti eller inte. Tillverkaren, tillverkarens distributörer och återförsäljare bistår gärna med denna service. Nedlagda kostnader kommer i dessa fall att debiteras köparen i enlighet med gällande priser.

Tillverkaren, tillverkarens distributörer och återförsäljare reserverar sig rätten att, i de fall reparation ej är möjlig att genomföra inom en rimlig tidsperiod, byta ut felaktiga returnerade produkter under garantiperioden, med närmast motsvarande ersättningsprodukt.

GARANTIPROCEDUR

Produkten skall returneras till Tillverkaren, tillverkarens distributör eller återförsäljare i det land där produkten inköpts. Giltiga garantikrav kommer då att ersättas utan kostnad.

1. ALLGEMEINES

Der Log-/ Temperageber ist ein Impellergeber, der durch den Rumpf angebracht wird und für

Segel- und Motorboote geeignet ist.

3. PLAZIERUNG DES SCHAUFELRADGEBERS

LOG

Im Allgemeinen sollte das schaufelrad so weit vorne wie möglilich angebracht werden, 25-35% achtern an der Wasserline entlang dicht der Mittellinie.

Der Geber muß bei jeder Geschwindigkeit (auch Gleitfahrt) immer unter Wasser sein.

Beachten Sie, daß sich die Wasserlinie bei schnellen Gleitbooten bei hoher Geschwindigkeit erheblich verringert.

Beispiel:

Bei Segelbooten mit einem Flossenkiel muß der Geber mindestens 25 cm, aber nicht mehr als 75 cm, vor dem Kiel montiert werden und max. 10 cm von der Mittellinie

Bei Booten mit einem ausgesprochenen, V –Rumpf, wie z.B. Vollkielyachten, ist es vorteilhaft, den geber so zu winkeln, daß er auf den Rumpfboden weist, statt direkt parallel zur Mittellinie.

Dies trägtdazu bei, das Messen des vorbeigleienden Wasserstroms von einem Schlag zum anderen auszugleichen.

Vermeiden Sie den Geber in der Nähe der Kimm oder Rumpfkanten anzubringen. Umgekehrte

Wasserströme in diesen Bereichen können die Genauigkeit beim Messen beeinflussen.

Wenn sie Fragen bezüglich der Montagestelle haben, lassen Sie sich von Ihrer Werft oder hrem

Fachhändler beraten. Denken Sie darn, daß der Geber vom Bootsinnern aus erreichbar sein muß.

4. MONTAGE DES BORDDURCHLASSES

1. Bohren Sie ein Loch mit 43 mm Durchmesser durch den Rumpf (siehe Kap.3 -Einbauort).

2. Bestreichen Sie die Aussenseite des Borddurchlasses mit Polyurethan-Dichtungsmittel, stecken Sie den Borddurchlass von aussen durch den Rumpf und befestigen ihn von innen mit der Mutter.

3. Streifen Sie die zwei O-Ringe über den Blindstopfen.

4. Bestreichen Sie den Blindstopfen mit reichlich Silikon-Fett.

5. Stecken Sie den Blindstopfen in den Borddurchlass. Drehen Sie ihn langsam bis Sie sicher sind, dass er fest im Borddurchlass sitzt.

6. Halten Sie den Hebel am Blindstopfen 90 Grad zur Mittschiffslinie und ziehen Sie die Mutter von Hand fest an.

7. Wenn das äussere Dichtungsmittel getrocknet ist, lösen Sie Mutter, bestreichen die

Unterseite der Mutter mit Dichtungsmittel und ziehen Sie die Mutter von Hand wieder fest an.

8. Stecken Sie den Sicherungsbügel auf den Blindstopfen / Log-Geber.

5. MONTAGE DES INSTRUMENTS/ KONTAKTE

Der Log-/Temperaturgeber wird an den Nexus Server (Verteiler) order direkt an das Nexus Log angeschlossen.

Das Geberbabel ist deutlich markiert mit Nr. 4. Die Farben entsprechen den Farben am entsprechenden Eingang an der Klemmleiste des Servers.

Wenn das 8 m lange Geberkabel gekürzt werden muß, verwenden Sie die extra mitgelieferten

Kabelhülsen Pressen Sie die Kabelhülsen an jeden Draht mit einer Flachzange an.

6. EICHUNG

Der Eichung wird an dem Multi-Control- Instrument oder am Log-Anzeigegerät vorgenommen

(siehe Gebrauchsanweisung).

Bitte lesen Sie die Garantiekarte aufmerksam, füllen Sie sie aus und senden Sie sie zur

GARANTIEEINSCHRÄNKUNG

Die Garantie erstreckt sich auf den Ersatz von defekten Teilen, sofern es sich um Herstellungsoder Materialfehler handelt, und den Arbeitslohn bei einer Reparatur im Kaufland. Die

Garantiefrist beträgt zwei Jahre und beginnt mit dem Kaufdatum im Einzelhandelsgeschäft oder der Werftübergabe. Diese Herstellergarantie ist die einzige Garantie und andere Fristen, sei es ausdrücklich oder stillschweigend, finden keine Anwendung. Der Hersteller schließt insbesondere die stillschweigende Zusicherung für den Einsatz des Gerätes für einen bestimmten Zweck aus.

GARANTIEBEDINGUNGEN

• Die mitgelieferte Garantiekarte in Verbindung mit der Rechnung als Beleg für das Kaufdatum sind Voraussetzung für Garantieansprüche.

• Die Garantie ist nicht übertragbar und bezieht sich ausschließlich auf den Erstkäufer.

• Die Garantie gilt nicht: - für Erzeugnisse mit entfernter Seriennummer - bei falsch eingebauten Geräten - bei Beschädigungen auf Grund falscher elektrischer Absicherung - bei unsachgemäßem Gebrauch - bei äußeren Einwirkungen - für Veränderungen und

Reparaturen an den Geräten, die nicht durch den Hersteller oder die nationale Vertretung zugelassen wurden - für den Gebrauch außerhalb des für das Gerät vorgesehenen Zweckes.

• Der Hersteller haftet nicht für direkte oder indirekte Folgeschäden, die aus einer Fehlfunktion seiner Geräte herrühren. Der Hersteller haftet nicht für Personenschäden aller Art, die durch die Benutzung seiner Geräte herrühren.

• Der Hersteller, seine nationalen Vertretungen oder Verkäufer haften nicht für Kosten, die aus Probefahrten - aus Überprüfung des Einbaus durch dritte - aus Besichtigung des Bootes zwecks Auswahl des Gerätes - entstehen, sei es während oder außerhalb der Garantiezeit.

• Der Hersteller hat das Recht, innerhalb der Garantiezeit zu Reparaturzwecken zurückgegebene Geräte durch ähnliche gleichwertige Geräte zu ersetzen, wenn die Reparatur nicht in einer annehmbaren Zeit erfolgen kann.

• Die gesetzlichen Rechte des Kunden werden durch diese Garantiefristen und -Bedingungen nicht berührt.

VERFAHREN

Das beanstandete Gerät muß an die nationale Vertretung oder an einen von ihr benannten

Händler des Landes geschickt werden, in dem das Gerät gekauft wurde. Berechtigte

Reklamationen werden erledigt und das gerät kostenfrei an den Kunden zurückgesandt.

Wenn das Gerät in einem anderen Land benutzt wird als in dem, in dem es gekauft wurde, kann es an die dortige nationale Vertretung oder an einen von ihr benannten Händler geschickt werden. In diesem Fall ist die Garantie auf den Ersatz von teilen beschränkt. Lohn- und

Frachtkosten werden dem Kunden zu annehmbaren preisen belastet.

GARANTIEAUSSCHLUSS

Unsere Geräte stellen nur eine Hilfe zur Navigation dar und entbinden den Benutzer nicht von den

Pflichten ordentlicher Seemannschaft. Der Schiffsführer muß nach Seemannsbrauch alle möglichen Unterlagen hinzuziehen und immer die voraussichtlich ungünstigste Situation annehmen.

Der Hersteller behält sich das Recht vor, im Sinne der laufenden Produktentwicklung

Veränderungen an den Produkten ohne vorherige Ankündigung vorzunehmen.

3. EMPLECEMENT CORRECT DU CAPTEUR A AUBES

En règle générale, le capteur doit être situé aussi loin que possible en avant sur la longueur de la ligne de flottaison et à proximité de l’axe central. I’l est important que le capteur soit toujours immergé dans l’eau, à toutes les allures du bateau. Noter que la longueureffective de la ligne de flottaison des bateaux à moteur rapides se raccourcit considérablement aux vitesses élevées. C’ est pourquoi le capteur devrait être placé à 25 - 35 % le long de la ligne de flottasion réelle à partir de la proue en pleine vitesse.

Les bateaux à voile avec une quille doivent avoir un capteur placé au moins à 25 cm en avant de la quille, sans toutefois excéder 75 cm. Il ne doit pas êtr décalé de plus de 10 cm par rapport à l’ axe central.

Sur des bateaux à voile ayant une coque en forme de v prononcé, comme par example les quille entière, il peut re avantageux d’incliner légèrement le capteur, de façon à viser la proue, plutôt que d’être directement parallèle à l’ axe central. Ceci aidera à équilibrer les mesures du courant d’eau

écloulé d’un bord à l’autre.

Eviter de positionner le capteur près du bord de reliefs vifs de la coque. Des courants transversaux dans ces zones peuvent affecter a précision des mesures.

Si vous des questions concernant l’emplacement de la traversée de coque, contacter votre constructeur, vendeur ou d’autres utilisateurs ayant des bateaux similaires afin d’obtenier un conseil. Souvenez vous toujours de veiller à l’accessibilité depuis l’intérieur du bateau en déterminant l’emplacement d´finitif.

4. MONTAGE A TRAVERS COQUE

1. Utilisez une perceuse 43 mm (1 11/16 ) pour percer la coque (voir chapitre 3 pour un emplacement correct).

2.

Appliquez le polyuréthane d’étanchéité sur la bride externe de le passe coque et serrez l’écrou de l’intérieur à la main.

3.

Faites glisserlesdeux joints toriques sur la bonde.

4. Appliquez généreusemnt la graisse silicone à l’extérieur de la bonde.

5. Mettez en place la bonde dans le passe coque. Utiliser un mouvement de torisio lent et assurez vouz que la bonde est correctement en place dans l’armature.

6. Une fois la bonde correctement en place dans le passe coque, montez le passe coque telle sorte que la poignée soit exactement à angle droit (90º ) de l’axe central du bateau (pour les coques en V prononcé, voir chapitre 3).

7. Quand ce matériau d’étanchéité extérieur a pris, enlevez l’écrou et appliques le matériau d’étanchéité sur l’intérieur. Serrez l’écrou à nouveau à la main.

8. Mettez en place le dispositif de securite des fils sur la bonde/capteur `aubes.

5. CONNECTION A L´INSTRUMENT/ CONTACTS

Le capteur loch/temp se connecte au serveur Nexus ou directement au loch Nexus.

Le câble de capteur est clairement marqué nº 1 et les couleurs correspondent à la borne `vis d’enrée du serveur.

Si le câble de capteur 8 m doit être coupé, utilisez les cosses fournies. Sertir les cosses sur chaque fil avec une pince plate.

6. CALIBRAGE

Le calibrage est effectué sur l’instrument Multi control ou sur l’instrument de loch (voir mode d’emploi).

GARANTIE

La garantie couvre la réparation des pièces comportant un vice de fabrication et comprend les coûts de maind'œuvre sous réserve que la réparation soit effectuée dans le pays où l'appareil a été acheté. La durée de la garantie est spécifiée dans le manuel du produit et débute à la date d'achat de l'appareil. Les termes de la garantie fabricant ci-dessus sont contractuels et excluent toute autre clause, explicite ou implicite. Il ne pourra

être fait appel en aucun cas à la garantie fabricant en cas d'incompatibilité de nos produits pour une application particulière.

CONDITIONS

• Pour toute intervention sous garantie, il est nécessaire, sous peine d'invalidité, d'accompagner le produit de la carte de garantie ainsi que de la preuve d'achat (facture, ticket de caisse, etc.). Les demandes de garantie sont subordonnées au respect des clauses et procédures ci-dessous.

• La garantie ne peut être transférée à un tiers et ne s'applique qu'à l'acheteur originel.

• Sont exclus de la garantie les produits dont les n° de série auront été effacés, ceux qui auront été mal installés ou qui auront été protégés par un fusible de type incorrect ainsi que ceux dont la panne résulte d'un usage impropre. Les causes extérieures, y compris les réparations ou les modifications non effectuées par le fabricant ou par son importateur, ainsi que l'utilisation du matériel en dehors de conditions de fonctionnement spécifiées pour le produit, entraînent la nullité de la garantie.

PROCEDURE

L'appareil doit être retourné à l'importateur ou à l'un de ses revendeurs agréés dans le pays où il en a été fait l'acquisition. Après acceptation, les demandes de garantie seront traitées et retournées à l'expéditeur sans débit.

Si l'appareil a été utilisé hors du pays d'achat, il peut être retourné à l'importateur du pays où il est utilisé, ou à l'un de ses revendeurs agréés. Dans ce cas, la garantie ne couvre que le remplacement de pièces défectueuses. Les frais de main d'œuvre et d'expédition seront facturés à l'expéditeur au tarif en vigueur.
