Pre-Installation
The Installation should be completed on an asphalt/concrete surface, with sufficient area to work. Unpackage your new FRISTTRAX Snowplow, discard all shipping materials, recycle if possible. Once the plow is
un-packaged, slowly roll the plow from its upright shipping configuration over onto the built-in cart. Top up
the oil reservoir to the fill line indicated with the 1L of hydraulic oil provided. Your new FIRSTTRAX Snowplow
is now ready to be installed.
Installation
Step 1 – Install mounting brackets and cross bar.
Please follow the instructions included in your mount kit. Fit in place with all fasteners (finger tight) then
proceed to tighten with appropriate tools.
Step 2 – Install the main power cord.
**ALWAYS EXERCISE CAUTION WHEN USING HAND TOOLS AROUND THE BATTERY! A SOLID
CONDUCTER SUCH AS A METAL WRENCH CAN CAUSE SEVERE INJURY, FIRE, OR EVEN CAUSE THE
BATTERY TO EXPLODE!
Attach the short lead on the breaker to the positive “+” terminal of the battery. Secure the breaker to the
fender or firewall with the use of screws or zip ties in a place where it will not come into contact with the
negative terminal. Attach the negative lead to the negative “-“battery terminal. Route the wires from the
battery in the best possible way to the front of the vehicle avoiding areas that can become hot or cause
friction when the vehicle is in use. Zip tie the wires to the vehicle’s structure so that they do not move or
shift when in operation. Confirm the breaker is in the closed position, and then close the hood slowly to
make sure yet again that the wires are clear from pinch points.

Step 3 – Attaching the snowplow to the vehicle.
Roll the plow to the front of your vehicle. The channel on the snowplow lift frame is to fit around the cross bar on the
mount. Helpful hint…have the channel which is to slide over the front cross bar parallel to the ground. To alter
placement simply push or pull on the control box which will allow you to change the current resting place. When proper
placement is achieved the pins on the front of the cross bar will protrude through the channel on the snowplow lift
frame. Depending on the model purchased you will either need to insert a plow pin on each side or twist the lock tab 90
degrees so it locks itself to the vehicle.
Step 4 – Connect the main power hand held control.
Insert the large blue plug on the main power cord running from the battery into the mating plug on
the bottom back side of the control box. Insert the handheld control plug into the matching
receptacle. Route the control wire up over the hood, under the driver’s side windshield wiper arm,
around the driver’s side mirror and in through the window. IMPORTANT! Make sure to leave slack
in both cables spanning from the vehicle to the snowplow control box. This allows the cables to free
float when the snowplow is in use; if they are tight they may become undone or damaged.
