Be sure the bracket has a substructure that is able to support the bracket & any other additional weight that may be added to it. When in doubt, consult a professional installer. ONTO A KNEE/ PONY WALL Locate your studs in the knee/pony wall & space the brackets with the studs on the knee/pony wall. It is important that the vertical piece of the L Bracket be mounted into each stud in the knee/pony wall, in order for the L Bracket to support & protect the weight of the countertop. St ep #2: Once your studs are located, rout or chisel out a 2.5" wide by 0.5" deep "pocket" at the top of the knee/pony wall, above each stud in the knee/pony wall. St ep #3: Insert the horizontal piece of the L Bracket into the "pocket" you created. This will allow the horizontal piece to lie inside the "pocket", with the vertical piece going down the back side of the knee/pony wall. St ep #4: Use the appropriate wood screws to attach the L Bracket to the knee/pony wall. Make sure the L Bracket sits flush into the "pocket" you routed out, in order for the L Bracket to be flush with the knee/pony wall; insuring the countertop is level & protected. NOTE: We have provided screwsHOWEVER make sure the length of the provided screwsare appropriate for your project. If not appropriate DO NOT use the screwsprovided. Each project isdifferent so protect your project by measuring before you add the screws. St ep #5: Once the brackets are secured in place, place your countertop on top of the brackets & simply caulk around the brackets with clear silicone. Install a 2"x6" to the inside back wall of the cabinet- flush to the top of the cabinet wall. It is important that the L Bracket have a secure foundation to mount into in order to support & protect the weight of the countertop. St ep #2: Start 6" from the edge & mark off the spacing of where the L Bracket will be placed. We recommend 16"-20" apart for maximum countertop protection. St ep #3: Rout or chisel out a 2.5" wide by 0.5" deep "pocket" on top of the 2"x6", including the cabinet wall, at each of the bracket spacing found in Step #2. St ep #4: Insert the horizontal piece of the L Bracket into the "pocket" you created. This will allow the horizontal piece to lie flush inside the pocket, with the vertical piece going down the 2"x6" you installed inside the back wall of the cabinet. St ep #5: Use the appropriate wood screws to attach the L Bracket to the 2"x6". Make sure the L Bracket sits flush into the "pocket" you routed out, in order for the L Bracket to be flush with the 2"x6"; insuring the countertop is level & protected.
