WHERE TO USE: FOR WOOD SUBSTRATES ONLY. ldeal for use on stained or unfinished, interior wood surfaces, including floors, doors, trim, furniture, cabinets, and paneling. COVERAGE: Up to 500 sq. ft. (46 sq. meters) per U.S. gallon (3.78 L) depending on surface texture and porosity. Coverage figures do not include material loss due to application or mixing. SURFACE PREPARATION: Surface must be clean and dry. Remove all loose and peeling paint, dust, dirt, grease, oils, wax, and any other surface contaminants. Bare Wood: Sand with 180 to 220-grit sandpaper along the wood grain until smooth. Do not use steel wool. Remove all dust. Stain if desired. When applying over stained wood, ensure stain is thoroughly dry. Previously Coated Wood: If the clean surface is in good condition, sand with 220-grit sandpaper. Do not use steel wool. Remove all dust. If the finish is damaged or deteriorated, complete removal of the finish is recommended. Do not use over light-colored surfaces, wax, shellac, fresh lacquer, lacquer sanding sealer, silicones, orstearates. WARNING! If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may release lead dust or fumes. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST OR FUMES CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a properly fitted, NIOSH-approved respirator and prevent skin contact to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, find out how to protect yourself and your family by contacting the USEPA National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead. Follow these instructions to control exposure to other hazardous substances that may be released during surface preparation. APPLICATION: Provide adequate ventilation. Stirwell before and during use. Do not shake. DO NOT THIN. Apply with a high-quality, synthetic brush, roller, pad, or spray equipment. Apply thin, even coats with the grain of the wood. For adequate protection, a minimum of three coats are required. A minimum of four coats are recommended for applications to interior floors. Recoat when previous coats have dried clear and hard. Between coats, sand with 220-grit or finer sandpaper along the wood grain until smooth. À powder should develop when lightly sanded. Do not use steel wool. Remove all dust. Apply only when air, product, and surface temperatures are between 50°F (10°C) and 90°F (32°C). Additional and,’ ats will extend the life of the finish. Recoat at the earliest sign of peeling, cracking, or excessive wear. DRYING: Dry to recoat in 2 hours and dry for general use in 74 hours at TPF (25%) and 50% relative humidity. Allow final coat on wood floors to dry at least 24 hours and avoid heavy traffic for at least 77 hours. Drying times listed may vary depending on temperature, humidity, film build, and air movement. CLEANUP: Clean all brushes and applicators with warm, soapy water. DISPOSAL: Contact your local environmental regulatory agency for guidance on disposal of unused product. Do not pour down a drain or storm sewer. PROTECT FROM FREEZING. U-3100-05 PRECAUTIONS AND FIRST AID: Inhalation of high concentrations of vapor may affect the central nervous system.
