WHERE TO USE: FOR WOOD SUBSTRATES ONLY. ldeal for use on stained or unfinished,
interior wood surfaces, including floors, doors, trim, furniture, cabinets, and paneling.
COVERAGE: Up to 500 sq. ft. (46 sq. meters) per U.S. gallon (3.78 L) depending on
surface texture and porosity. Coverage figures do not include material loss due to
application or mixing.
SURFACE PREPARATION: Surface must be clean and dry. Remove all loose and peeling
paint, dust, dirt, grease, oils, wax, and any other surface contaminants.
Bare Wood: Sand with 180 to 220-grit sandpaper along the wood grain until smooth.
Do not use steel wool. Remove all dust. Stain if desired. When applying over stained
wood, ensure stain is thoroughly dry.
Previously Coated Wood: If the clean surface is in good condition, sand with
220-grit sandpaper. Do not use steel wool. Remove all dust. If the finish is damaged
or deteriorated, complete removal of the finish is recommended. Do not use over
light-colored surfaces, wax, shellac, fresh lacquer, lacquer sanding sealer, silicones,
orstearates.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may
release lead dust or fumes. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD
DUST OR FUMES CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN
DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD
ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a properly fitted, NIOSH-approved
respirator and prevent skin contact to control lead exposure.
Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before
you start, find out how to protect yourself and your family by
contacting the USEPA National Lead Information Hotline
at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead.
Follow these instructions to control exposure to other
hazardous substances that may be released during
surface preparation.
APPLICATION: Provide adequate ventilation. Stirwell before and during use.
Do not shake. DO NOT THIN. Apply with a high-quality, synthetic brush, roller,
pad, or spray equipment. Apply thin, even coats with the grain of the wood. For
adequate protection, a minimum of three coats are required. A minimum of
four coats are recommended for applications to interior floors. Recoat when
previous coats have dried clear and hard. Between coats, sand with 220-grit
or finer sandpaper along the wood grain until smooth. À powder should
develop when lightly sanded. Do not use steel wool. Remove all dust. Apply
only when air, product, and surface temperatures are between 50°F (10°C)
and 90°F (32°C). Additional and,’ ats will extend the life of
the finish. Recoat at the earliest sign of peeling, cracking, or excessive wear.
DRYING: Dry to recoat in 2 hours and dry for general use in 74 hours at
TPF (25%) and 50% relative humidity. Allow final coat on wood floors to
dry at least 24 hours and avoid heavy traffic for at least 77 hours. Drying
times listed may vary depending on temperature, humidity, film build, and
air movement.
CLEANUP: Clean all brushes and applicators with warm, soapy water.
DISPOSAL: Contact your local environmental regulatory agency for guidance
on disposal of unused product. Do not pour down a drain or storm sewer.
