enclosure.

Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s

Slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for

proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer’s

CAUTION concerning the Power Cord
The Power Plug is the disconnecting device. In case
of an emergency, the Power Plug must remain readily
accessible.
CAUTION: No naked flame sources, such as lighted
candles, should be placed on the apparatus.

loose or damaged wall outlets, extension cords,
frayed power cords, or damaged or cracked wire

discontinue use of the device, and have the cord
replaced with an exact replacement part by an

yy The USB function of this unit does not support all
USB devices.
yy Sampling frequency : within 32 to 48 kHz (MP3),

yy Bit rate : within 32 to 320 kbps (MP3),
40 to 192 kbps (WMA)
yy Maximum files : Data CD : 999 / USB : 2,000
yy USB Flash Drive :
Devices that support USB2.0 or USB1.1.
USB device requirement
yy Devices which require additional program
installation when you have connected it to a
computer, are not supported.
yy Do not extract the USB device while in operation.
yy Maximum folders : Data CD : 99 / USB : 200
yy For a large capacity USB, it may take longer than a
few minute to be searched.
yy File extensions : “.mp3”/ “.wma”
yy To prevent data loss, back up all data.
yy Certain MP3/WMA files may not be played
depending on the type or format of the file.
yy If you use a USB extension cable or USB hub, the
USB device is not recognized.
yy CD-ROM file format : ISO 9660/ JOLIET
yy Using NTFS file system is not supported. (Only
FAT(16/ 32) file system is supported.)
yy We recommend that you use Easy-CD Creator,
which creates an ISO 9660 file system.
yy This unit recognizes up to 2,000 files.
yy A protected file by DRM (Digital rights
management) cannot be played on the unit.
yy External HDD, Card readers, Locked devices, or
hard type USB devices are not supported.
yy The DTS disc is not supported.
yy USB port of the unit cannot be connected to PC.
The unit cannot be used as a storage device.
You have to set the disc format option to [Mastered]
in order to make the discs compatible with the LG
players when formatting rewritable discs. When
setting the option to Live File System, you cannot use
it on LG players.
(Mastered/Live File System : Disc format system for
Windows Vista)
yy Some USB may not work with this unit.

Connect an output of auxiliary device (Camcorder,
TV, Player, etc) to the AUX IN (L/R) connector. If your
device has only one output for audio (mono), connect
it to the left(white) audio jack on the unit.

Listening to music from your
portable player or external
device
The unit can be used to play the music from many
types of portable player or external device.
1. Connect the portable player to the PORT. IN
connector of the unit.
Or
2. Turn the power on by pressing 1.
3. Press F to select AUX or PORTABLE function.
4. Turn on the portable player or external device and
start it playing.

Automatically switches to the PORTABLE
function when you connect the portable device
to the PORT. IN connector.

1. Connect an optical output jack of external
devices to the OPTICAL IN jack.

You can control some functions of this unit by
your TV’s remote control with LG Sound Sync. It is
compatible with LG TV that supports LG Sound Sync.
Make sure your TV has the LG Sound Sync logo.
Connecting
Controllable function by LG TV’s remote control :
Volume up/down, mute
LG Sound Sync with wired connection
1. Connect your LG TV to the unit by using an
optical cable.
2. Set up the sound output of TV to listen to the
sound through this unit
(Refer to the TV’s instruction manual for the
details of LG Sound Sync.)
3. Turn on the unit by pressing 1.
TV or digital device etc.
2. Press F until OPTICAL function is selected.
,,Note
yy Before connecting the optical cable, be sure
to remove the protection plug cover if your
cable has the cover.
yy You can enjoy the TV audio through the
speakers of this unit. In the case of some TV
models, you must select the external speaker
option from the TV menu. (For details,
reference your TV user manual.)
yy Set up the sound output of TV to listen to the
sound through this unit :
TV setting menu [ [Sound] [ [TV Sound
output] [ [External speaker (Optical)]
yy Details of TV setting menu vary depending on
models of your TV.
yy Playback effects and MIC function do not
operate on OPTICAL or LG OPT function.
4. Press F until OPTICAL function is selected.
You can see “LG OPT” on the display window if
connecting normally between this unit and your
TV.

LG Sound Sync with wireless
connection
1. Turn on the unit by pressing 1.
2. Press F until LG TV function is selected.
yy If the connection fails, check the conditions of
this unit and your TV : power, function.
yy Make sure of the condition of this unit and
the connection in the cases below when
using LG Sound Sync.
-- The unit is turned off.
-- Changing to a different function.
-- Disconnecting the wireless connection
caused by interference or a distance.
-- Disconnecting the optical cable.
yy The amount of time to turn off this unit is
different depending on your TV.
yy If you try to change the function on using
the LG TV function, volume will be change
according to the LG TV volume level.
yy If you turned off the unit directly by pressing
1, LG Sound Sync will be disconnected.
To use this function again, you should
reconnect the TV and the unit.
yy The volume may be increased when the TV
and this unit is connected by LG Sound Sync.
Decrease the TV volume and then connect
with this unit.
yy When you turn on your LG TV connected
by LG Sound Sync or enter LG TV function,
this unit changes the function to LG TV
automatically.
yy You should set the TV Sound output manually
depending on the TV version.
yy If you control TV volume when this unit and
TV are connected by LG Sound Sync, this unit
may louder the volume due to synchronizing
volume with TV’s.

3. Set up the sound output of TV to listen to the
sound through this unit :
“PAIRED” appears on the display window for
about 3 seconds and then you can see “LG TV”
on the display window if the TV and this unit are
connected normally.
(Refer to the TV’s instruction manual for the
details of LG Sound Sync.)

yy You can also use the remote control of
this unit while using LG Sound Sync. If you
use TV’s remote control again, the unit
synchronizes with the TV. (According to TV
Specifications, the volume and mute of this
unit synchronize with TV.)

Connect the supplied antenna for listening to the
radio.

1. Choose a different function/mode or
press Z twice in a row.
2. Remove the USB device from the unit.

yy Be sure to fully extend the antenna.
yy When moving the unit to other areas : Delete
all of the saved DAB+ scanned stations.

1. Insert the disc by pressing B.
Or connect the USB device to the USB port.
2. Select CD or USB function by pressing F.

yy When you play JUKE BOX list, only ONE and
ALL are available.
yy Even after restarting the unit or switching
one function to another, you can listen to
music from the point where it’s last been
played.
yy If you leave the disc tray open for 5 minutes,
it will close automatically.

(1) By using C/V buttons :
Press V to go to the next track/
Skipping to the file.
next/previous Playing in less than 3 seconds, press
track/file
C to go to the previous track/file.
Playing after 3 seconds, press C to
go to the beginning of the track/file.
(2) By using SEARCH :
Rotate DJ SCRATCH / SEARCH &
MULTI or C/V and press N to
play the track/ file.

About Bluetooth
Before you start the pairing procedure, make
sure the Bluetooth feature is activated on your

does not need to be performed again.
Bluetooth is wireless communication technology for
short range connection.
The sound may be interrupted when the connection
interfered by the other electronic wave or you
connect the Bluetooth in the other rooms.

JUKE BOX Playback
JUKE BOX function enables you to make a playlist of
your favorite tracks/files from a disc or USB device.
A playlist of up to 100 tracks/files can be entered.
1. Press and hold JUKE BOX / MEMORY on the
remote control to enter the edit mode.
(Playing will be stopped when you press
JUKEBOX/MEMORY on the remote control.)

2. Press PRESET·FOLDER W/S on the remote
control to select a track/file to edit.

To cancel it, press JUKEBOX/MEMORY on the
remote control once.
“OFF - JUKE BOX” appears on the display window.

Deleting JUKE BOX list
Deleting function only works in the edit mode.
1. Press and hold JUKEBOX/MEMORY on the
remote control to enter the edit mode.
Or
Press DELETE on the remote control while JUKE
BOX is played to enter the edit mode.
2. Select a song by pressing PRESET·FOLDER W/S
on the remote control repeatedly.
3. Press DELETE on the remote control while a
song is selected.

yy If there is no JUKE BOX list, “NO PROG”
appears on the display window when you
press JUKEBOX/MEMORY on the remote
control.

Other Operations
Turn off the sound temporarily
Press [on the remote control to mute your sound.
You can mute your unit, for example, to answer the
telephone, the “MUTE” will appear in the display
window.
To cancel it, press [on the remote control again or
change the volume level.
DRC (Dynamic range control)
Press N in OPTICAL function to turns on or off this
function.
,,Note
This function only operates on OPTICAL
function.
This function helps to prevent you from being
surprised when you turn on the unit in case that the
volume of the unit is set at a high level.
To turn on CHILDSAFE mode, press and hold OK on
the unit when the volume of the unit is “MIN”.
In CHILDSAFE mode, the volume increase gradually.
To turn off CHILDSAFE mode, press and hold OK on
the unit when the volume of the unit is “MIN” and
this mode is turned on.
,,Note
In case of CD, USB or BT function, CHILDSAFE
mode does not work after about 2 minutes
from power on the unit even if this mode is
enabled.

Make the sound clear when the volume is turned
down and prevent a sudden sound increase (Dolby
Digital only).

DEMO
Using your TV remote control
In the power off state, press USB REC / DEMO on
the unit once. The unit will power on and display the
each of functions with demo sound in the display
window.
To cancel the DEMO function, press USB REC /
DEMO on the unit once more.
You can control some functions of this unit by your
TV remote control even by other company’s product.
Controllable functions are volume up/down and
mute.
,,Note
You can enjoy other functions during the DEMO,
the DEMO will temporarily pause.
- Without input key in 10 sec, the DEMO will
play back automatically.

Resume stop
The unit records the point where you pressed Z
depending on the disc or USB.
If you press Z twice, the unit will clear the stopped
point.
Press and hold [on the remote control for about 3
seconds in OPTICAL function to turn on or off this
function.

Using Microphone
VOICE CANCELLER
1. Connect your microphone to the MIC jack.
You can reduce the vocal tones during music
playback from various input sources.
Press the VOICE CANCELLER and “ON-VOICE
CANCELLER” will appear in display window.
2. Play the music you want.
3. Sing along with the accompaniment. Adjust the
microphone volume by rotating MIC VOL. -/+
clockwise or counterclockwise on the unit.

yy When not using the microphone, set the MIC
volume to minimum or turn off the MIC and
remove the microphone from the MIC jack.
yy If sound through the microphone is extremely
loud, it may be distorted. In this case, rotate
MIC VOL. -/+ on the unit.
yy You can give an echo effect to the sound
from the microphones by pressing
MIC ECHO.
The quality of the VOICE CANCELLER may be
different depending on the recording conditions of
music files.

Sleep Timer Setting
Auto power down
Press SLEEP on the remote control repeatedly to
select delay time between 10 and 180 minutes.
After the delay time, the unit will be turned off.
This unit will turn itself off to save electricity in the
case were the main unit is not connected to an
external device and is not used for 15 minutes.
The unit will also turn itself off after six hours if the
main unit has been connected to another device
using the analog inputs.
Auto power down function is applied to only MAIN
unit in case of WIRELESS PARTY LINK connection.
In case of OTHER unit, Auto power down is available
after disconnection OTHER unit and MAIN unit.
To cancel the sleep function, press SLEEP on the
remote control repeatedly until “OFF” appears.

yy You can check the remaining time before the
unit is turned off. Press SLEEP on the remote
control to check or change the remaining
time.

yy You can edit the remain time when displays
the remaining time or “DIMMER”.
How to disconnect the wireless

This unit automatically turns on by an input source :
LG TV, Bluetooth or Optical.
When you turn on your TV connected to this unit,
this unit recognizes the input signal and selects the
suitable function. You can hear the sound from the
unit.
If you try to connect your Bluetooth device, this unit
turns on and connects your Bluetooth device.
You can play your music.
When you turn off this unit by pressing 1 on the
unit for 5 seconds each time, you can turn on or off
the AUTO POWER function.

the suitable function automatically.
When you try to connect Bluetooth
device
When you try to connect your Bluetooth device to
this unit, Bluetooth function is selected. Play your
music on the Bluetooth device.
When 3.5 mm stereo cable is
connected
yy If you turn on the unit using LG TV or
Bluetooth function, proper function of this
unit is turned on.
When you connect the portable device to the
PORT.IN connector, PORTABLE function is selected.
Play your music on the portable device.
yy If you have already paired with this unit,
automatically this unit can turn on by an
input source when this unit is turned off.
When optical signal comes in
yy If you turned off the unit directly, it cannot
be turned on automatically by AUTO POWER
function. However the unit can be turned
on by AUTO POWER function when optical
signal comes in after 5 seconds of no signal.
When you turn on the external device connected to
this unit by an optical cable, this unit changes the
function to optical. You can hear the sound from your
device.
When LG TV signal comes in
When you turn on your LG TV connected by LG
Sound Sync (Wireless connection), this unit changes
the function to LG TV. You can hear the sound from
your TV.

yy This function is not available during recording
or deleting.
yy This function only works with devices that
were previously connected.
yy If the Bluetooth connection lock function
is set, Bluetooth and LG TV connection will
be only available on Bluetooth and LG TV
function.

Connection
The output sound of (MAIN) unit is expanded to
(OTHER) unit.
It is compatible with unit that supports WIRELESS
PARTY LINK.
The name of function about sound expansion
between the compatible products wirelessly was
changed to WIRELESS PARTY LINK.
1. Press 3 WIRELESS LINK on the unit.
PARTY LINK MODE SELECT appears in the display
window.
2. Press 3 WIRELESS LINK on the unit to select
MAIN or OTHER.
- unit : Selects MAIN.

unit : Selects OTHER.
Two units try to connect with each other.
3. When these units are successfully connected
each other, each of connected device names

yy Previous setting may not be saved when device power is shut off.

Maintenance
Handling the Unit
When shipping the unit
Notes on Discs
Handling Discs
Never stick paper or tape on the disc.
Storing Discs
Please save the original shipping carton and packing
materials. If you need to ship the unit, for maximum
protection, re-pack the unit as it was originally
packed at the factory.
Keeping the exterior surfaces clean
After playing, store the disc in its case. Do not
expose the disc to direct sunlight or sources of heat
and never leave it in a parked car exposed to direct
sunlight.
Do not use volatile liquids such as insecticide spray
near the unit. Wiping with strong pressure may
damage the surface. Do not leave rubber or plastic
products in contact with the unit for a long period
of time.
Cleaning Discs
Cleaning the unit
Fingerprints and dust on the disc can cause poor
picture quality and sound distortion. Before playing,
clean the disc with a clean cloth. Wipe the disc from
the center to out.
To clean the player, use a soft, dry cloth. If the
surfaces are extremely dirty, use a soft cloth lightly
moistened with a mild detergent solution. Do not use
strong solvents such as alcohol, benzine, or thinner,
as these might damage the surface of the unit.
Do not use strong solvents such as alcohol, benzine,
thinner, commercially available cleaners, or anti-static
spray intended for old vinyl records.
