(Jackscrew Override)

NOTE:

The M3/M3HW have left handed threads (that is, rotate counterclockwise to screw in).

NOTE:

For operating instructions for the “HD” Series M3/M3HW (Jackscrew Override), skip

Page 1 and proceed to Page 2.

1.1 Operating Procedure for M3 Jackscrew

1.1.1 Bleed off and remove all pressure to the actuator. On double-acting actuators, make sure that both ends of cylinder (s) are exhausted and vented to atmosphere.

1.1.2 Apply a generous coating of grease to the M3 threads before operating.

1.1.3 Loosen the M3 locking nut and turn M3 counterclockwise sufficiently to allow for the customers' desired actuator travel (that is, to screw in and override the actuator).

Return M3 to Regular Service

1.2.1 Turn M3 clockwise until the actuator is returned to its original position.

1.2.2 If desirable, wipe away excess grease on M3 after operation.

NOTE:

If preferred, grease may be left on M3 to provide additional corrosion protection.

1.2.3 Turn jam nut counterclockwise until tight.

1.2.4 Restore supply pressure to the actuator's power cylinder.

NOTE:

The M3/M3HW have right handed threads (that is, rotate clockwise to screw in).

Operating Procedure for M3 Jackscrew

2.1.1 Bleed off and remove all pressure to the actuator. On double-acting actuators, make sure that both ends of cylinder (s) are exhausted and vented to atmosphere.

Return M3 to Regular Service

2.2.1 Turn M3 counterclockwise until the actuator is returned to its original position.
