TTY ADD-ON DEVICE KIT for the 1830 SERIES ENTRY

This TTY (Talk To You) telecommunication device for the deaf allows people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech-impaired to use the 1830 series telephone entry system. The user is required to have a TTY communication device to plug into the 1830’s TTY device in order to communicate.
This device can be wired to an existing 1830 system which has already been installed (Add-On) or installed during a new 1830 installation.
Installation
1. Mount a standard size single gang box (not included) next to the 1830 series telephone entry unit in an easily visible location. Use conduit if necessary to connect to the 1830 system.
2. Disconnect the existing wires from the speaker and microphone in the 1830 series unit and discard them. Note: The same color wires will replace them from the TTY device.
3. Route wires from TTY device through gang box into the 1830 cabinet and wire as shown.
Install TTY device into gang box.
