stoves, strong sunlight...
* Always see that there is sufficient space around the appliance.
* Plug the appliance into a 10-16 A outlet connected to earth. Check that the
voltage shown on the identification plate of the appliance (the plate being
located on the compartment, to the left, at the level of the vegetable
drawer) indeed corresponds to. the voltage of the electrical installation of
the dwelling.
Under the law, it is mandatory that the appliance be connected to
earth. We can not be held responsible for any incident caused by a

* Put the handle of the.thermostat in the middle position. Then leave your
refrigerator like this for 24 hours. a
* Make adjustments later according to your needs.
ADJUSTMENT DURING USE
The temperature inside the refrigerator depends on several factors, such as
ambient temperature, how often the door is opened, the quantity of stored
food and the way in which these foods are arranged. When adjusting the
thermostat, these factors must be considered. Only your own experience will
enable you to determine the setting which best suits your needs.
OPERATION
The back wall of the refrigerator compartment is a refrigerated wall. When
your appliance is running, it is thus normal that drops of water and ice will
form on it. They are automatically removed when defrosting the
compartment.
SHELVES (DF 2)
They can be easily removed, even when the door is open at a right angle.
They can be adjusted in height and can be tipped for the storage of bottles.
TOP OF VEGETABLE DRAWER (DF 4)
The top of the vegetable drawer is striated for additional storage of bottles.
It is equipped with an adjustable humidity control:
* the open position is recommended for the storage of such foods as
squash, tomatoes, pumpkin, avocados, grapefruit and lemons...
< the closed position ensures the level of humidity necessary for the
preservation of such foods as carrots, chicory, lettuce, leeks, grapes,
plums, pears, bananas...
VEGETABLE DRAWER (DF 5)
It can be compartmented with a removable partition, so that you can
modulate the space of the drawer according to your needs.
INSIDE OF APPLIANCE DOOR (DF 1)
It is modular: you can move the racks according to your needs and clean
them easily.
TEMPERATURE INDICATOR (DF3)
This indicates where the temperature is ideal for the correct preservation of
food.
LARGE REFRIGERATORS: (depending on the model).
To improve safety in the home (in extreme cases when the inside of the
door is overloaded with respect to loading of the refrigerator
compartment), your refrigerator is equipped with a "non-tilt" strap on the -
upper part of the back, or with 2 metal flanges (including screws) supplied
with the refrigerator.
- The perforated strap must be fixed. to the wall using a dia 2.5-mm hook,
for example, and a wall plug to suit the type of wall (plasterboard,
concrete, plaster, etc.) (21).
Use a screwdriver to attach the 2 flanges on the rear corners of the refrigerator,
using the screws supplied. After correctly installing the refrigerator, mark the Ne GB
and attach to the wall using 2 screws and wall plugs to suit the type of wall
(plasterboard, concrete, plaster, etc.) (F2).
R600: SAFETY INFORMATION
You are now the owner of a refrigerator designed to respect the environment as much as possible. The fluid used:for cold production is
totally inoffensive for the ozone layer and does not contribute to heating up the planet.
However, it can be hazardous if basic precautions are not taken.
This is why you must avoid damaging any of the refrigerating elements during transport, installation and use.
If damage should occur, flames and incandescent bodies must be kept well away.
Since isobutene (R600a) is heavier than air, it will be concentrated at ground level. If damage occurs, the room containing the refrigerator
must be well ventilated..
It is strictly forbidden to use electrical appliances inside the refrigeration compartments unless ; they are e specifically approved by the
manufacturer.
The proper use of your refrigerator and the respect of strict hygiene rules
can contribute in a significant and effective manner to the preservation of
your foods. For this reason, we strongly recommend that you read
carefully the following paragraph.
BEST USE OF TEMPERATURE
* Store the most sensitive foods in the coldest area of the appliance, in
conformance with the information given in these operating instructions.
* Wait until prepared dishes have cooled completely before storing them
(example: soup).
* Do not open the door more often than necessary.
- Set the thermostat adjustment control to have a sufficiently low
temperature. This adjustment is to take place progressively so that foods
will not freeze.
The temperature in an area of the refrigerator, as on a shelf, can be
measured with a thermometer put, right at the outset, in a container filled
with water (such as a glass). To be reliable and representative of what is
happening inside the appliance, the temperature is to be read after a few
hours of overall stabilization, such as in the morning, for example, when
the door is opened for the first time.
RESPECT OF FOOD HYGIENE RULES
« Take off store wrappings before putting foods in the refrigerator (plastic
wrappings of packs of yogurts...).
* Always wrap foods so that one food does not contaminate another.
« Arrange foods in such a way that air can freely circulate around them.
Clean the inside of the refrigerator frequently, while using a cleaning
product which will not oxidize metal parts.

—
Identification of the coldest area of your refrigerator, which is the best
suited for the preservation of such fragile foods as meats, fish,
delicatessen products, vacuum packed cooked dishes, raw vegetables in
bags...
In the direction of depth, the coldest temperature is found near to the rear
wall (as shown on this illustration).
RECOMMENDATIONS
* Install your appliance in a cool and well ventilated place, away from direct sunlight “aná all sources of heat (radiators, stoves...).
« Once a year, remove the dust from the condenser grid to the rear of the appliance so that air can pass between the cooling fins.
* Let foods cool down before putting them in the appliance.
* When thawing frozen goods, place them in the refrigerator to help keep other products chilled.
* When putting in and taking out foods, do not leave the door open any longer than necessary:
* Do not select too low a temperature. Adjust the thermostat according to the foods being stored.”
CLEANING OF BODY
» Regularly clean your appliance. Only use lukewarm water containing a
small amount of dish washing detergent.
* Never use abrasive materials, abrasive sponges (metal or plastic), or
aggressive products (alcohol, solvents...).
* Once a year, remove dust from the condenser grid to the rear of the
appliance.
CLEANING AND DEFROSTING OF REFRIGERATOR
COMPARTMENT |
* Clean carefully and regularly the compartment, the inside of the door and
accessories of the refrigerator compartment. To do this:
- Unplug the appliance. _
- Clean with lukewarm water containing some dish washing detergent. Do
not wet electrical components (electrical box, control button).
- Rinse with water containing some vinegar.
Never use aggressive products (alcohol, solvents...) which can transmit
odors.
The defrosting of this compartment is automatic. Nevertheless, we
recommend that you regularly check on the cleanliness of the defrosting
water flow opening located to the rear of the compartment, above the
vegetable drawer: -> D1.
PROLONGED SHUTDOWN: -> C1
» Unplug the appliance.
It is best to air out your appliance. To keep the door open, use, for
example, a cork held in place by adhesive tape.
REPLACEMENT OF LIGHT BULB: -> El
* Unplug the appliance.
* Unclip the lamp cover while pulling on the rear part with the hand.
* Unscrew the light bulb and replace it with a bulb of the same size and
same characteristics (E14 - 15 W).
Clip the lamp cover back on.
Some incidents can occur during the use of your refrigerator-freezer. Here
are some points to be checked:
The refrigerator is not running
* Check:
- If the electrical connection is correct and that it is in good condition.
- If the thermostat is in the operating position.
The refrigerator is making a loud noise
- The floor is not stable.
- The feet are poorly adjusted.
Some water is running into the bottom of the refrigerator
- The drainage hole is clogged: use, for example, a knitting needle to
unclog the hole.
There is too much ice in the refrigerator part and the temperature is
abnormally low
- The compressor may be running continuously; in this case,
progressively bring the handle of the thermostat to a lower position until
the compressor once again periodically stops.
The light bulb does not light up
- The plug is disconnected.
- The bulb is loose.
- The bulb needs to be changed (see above).
