unit cannot be used to charge a Ni-cd type battery pack.
• Attach the battery pack firmly.

The temperature range for charging is 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F).
However, to provide maximum battery efficiency, the recommended
temperature range when charging is 10°C to 30°C (50°F to 86°F).

• The nameplate indicating operating voltage, power consumption, etc. is
located on the bottom.
• The negligible amount of electric current will flow into the Battery charger
as long as the Battery charger is plugged into the wall outlet.
• Unplug the unit from the wall outlet if it will not be used for extended
period of time. To disconnect the cord (mains lead), pull it out by the
plug. Never pull the cord itself.
• Do not operate the unit with a damaged cord or if it has been dropped or
damaged.
• Be sure that nothing metallic comes into contact with the metal parts of
the unit or connecting plate. If it does, a short may occur and the unit
may be damaged.
• Always keep the metal contacts clean.
• Do not disassemble or convert the unit.
• Do not apply mechanical shock or drop the unit.
• While the unit is in use, it gets warm. But this is normal.
• Keep the unit away from AM receivers, because it will disturb AM
reception.
• Do not place the unit in a location where it is:
— Extremely hot or cold
— Dusty or dirty
— Very humid
— Vibrating
If any difficulty should arise, unplug the unit and contact your nearest Sony

Should the fuse in the plug supplied need to be replaced, a 5 AMP fuse
approved by ASTA or BSI to BS 1362, (i.e., marked with 2 or @ mark)
must be used.
If the plug supplied with this equipment has a detachable fuse cover, be
sure to attach the fuse cover after you change the fuse. Never use the
plug without the fuse cover. If you should lose the fuse cover, please
contact your nearest Sony service station.

To Charge the Battery Pack
Charging by Attaching the Battery Pack to This

1 Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.
2 Install the battery pack.
Align the end surface of the battery pack shown by the $ mark to the
edge of the terminal shutter of this unit, then fit and slide the battery
pack in the direction of the arrow.
The CHARGE lamp (orange) will light and charging will begin.
When the CHARGE lamp goes out, normal charge is completed (Normal
charge). For a full charge, which allows you to use the battery longer than
usual, leave the battery pack in place for approximately one hour (Full
charge).
Remove the battery pack when required. It can be used even if the charging
is not completed.
To remove the battery pack
This mark indicates that this product is a genuine accessory
for Sony video products. When purchasing Sony video
products, Sony recommends that you purchase accessories

La batterie peut être rechargée à une température comprise entre 0°C et
40°C (32°F et 104°F). Cependant, pour que son efficacité soit optimale, il

Opmerkingen betreffende het gebruik

Temperatuur bij opladen
De toegestane temperatuur bij het opladen is van 0°C tot 40°C. Voor de beste
werking van het batterijpak is het echter aanbevolen het opladen te
verrichten bij een temperatuur tussen 10°C en 30°C.
Overige punten
• Aan de onderzijde van het apparaat bevindt zich een naamplaatje met de
voornaamste gegevens, zoals bedrijfsspanning, stroomverbruik, enz.
• Zolang de stekker van de batterijlader in het stopkontakt zit, blijft er een
geringe hoeveelheid stroom naar het apparaat lopen.
• Trek de stekker uit het stopkontakt als u denkt het apparaat geruime tijd niet
meer te gebruiken. Om de aansluiting op het stopkontakt te verbreken, mag u
alleen aan de stekker trekken. Trek nooit aan het snoer.
• Gebruik de batterijlader in geen geval als het snoer beschadigd is, of als er
sprake kan zijn van inwendige schade door een val e.d.
• Let op dat er geen metalen voorwerp in aanraking komt met de metalen
kontaktpunten van het apparaat of het aansluitplaatje. Anders kan er
kortsluiting optreden en kan het apparaat beschadigd worden.
• Houd de metalen kontaktpunten altijd goed schoon.
• Probeer in geen geval het apparaat te demonteren.
• Behoed het apparaat voor mechanische schokken of trillingen en laat het niet
vallen.
• Tijdens gebruik zal het apparaat warm worden. Dit is normaal en duidt niet
op storing.
• Houd de batterijlader tijdens gebruik uit de buurt van AM radio-ontvangers,
aangezien het apparaat storing in de radio-ontvangst kan veroorzaken.
• Zet de batterijlader niet op plaatsen waar deze blootstaat aan:
— extreem hoge of lage temperaturen;
— veel stof of vuil;
— regen of vocht;
— mechanische schokken of trillingen.
Mocht u problemen hebben met het apparaat, trek dan de stekker uit het

1 Steek de stekker van het netsnoer in een wandstopkontakt.
2 Breng het batterijpak op zijn plaats aan.
Plaats het aansluitvlak van het batterijpak, aangegeven met het $ teken,
tegen de rand van het aansluitkontakt-dekseltje op de batterijlader, druk het
batterijpak aan en schuif het in de richting van de pijl.
Het CHARGE oplaadlampje (oranje) gaat dan branden en het opladen
begint.
Wanneer het CHARGE oplaadlampje dooft, is het batterijpak grotendeels
opgeladen (normale lading).
Om het batterjpak volledig op te laden, zodat u het langer dan gemiddeld kunt
gebruiken, laat u het batterijpak nog ongeveer een uur langer op de batterijlader
zitten (volledige lading).
Verwijder het batterijpak wanneer u het nodig hebt. U kunt het batterijpak ook

• Dit is de tijd in minuten die ongeveer benodigd is voor het volledig opladen
van een leeg batterijpak (volledige lading).
• De cijfers tussen haakjes geven de tijd die nodig is voor het grotendeels
opladen (normale lading).
• Zie voor de geschatte levensduur van een opgeladen batterijpak de
gebruiksaanwijzing van de video-apparatuur waarvoor u het gebruikt.
• De oplaadtijd kan wel eens anders uitvallen, afhankelijk van de toestand van
het batterijpak en de temperatuur bij het opladen.
Opmerkingen
• Bij aanbrengen van een reeds volledig opgeladen batterijpak zal het CHARGE
oplaadlampje eenmaal oplichten en dan doven.
• Het is mogeljk dat het CHARGE oplaadlampje knippert wanneer u een
batterijpak oplaadt dat u langere tijd niet heeft gebruikt.
• Als er een storing is in het batterijpak of de batterijlader, kan zich het
onderstaande voordoen. Neem in dat geval kontakt op met uw Sony
handelaar of een officieel Sony servicecentrum.
– Het CHARGE oplaadlampje blijft knipperen of licht helemaal niet op.
– De camera werkt niet alhoewel een volledig opgeladen batterijpak gebruikt.
• U kunt de stekker van het netsnoer met de gewenste kant naar voren in de
aansluiting op de bovenzijde van de batterijlader steken.
