1. Introduction
S1200 Upgrade Tools are for upgrading the firmware of S1200.
2. Installation
Execute setup.exe for installing S1200 USB driver, and the new firmware of
S1200. The steps are below:
a. Execute setup.exe
If the operating system of your computer is Windows XP, follow the steps below. Start your device, and switch the screen to Windows Operating System.
Then start ActiveSync via the USB cable.
If the operating system of your computer is Windows Vista, follow the steps below. Start your device, and switch the screen to Windows Operating System.
Then start Windows Mobile Device Center via the USB cable.

Make sure that
Windows Mobile
Device Center is connected
The installation will take 15-20 minutes. Please close all applications on your device and PC to prevent from the potential fails.
When you execute setup.exe, please tap “ Next” to continue.

After you read License Agreement, please mark “ I accept the agreement” , and then, tap “ Next” to continue.
Wait for the installation, please.

b. Upgrade Firmware
You can read the information and version of the new firmware as the photo is below. Mark “ I understand the above Reminders” and tap “ Next” to continue.

Tap “ Download” to upgrade the firmware. The installation will take 15-20 minutes, and wait for it, please.

Close all applications on your device and PC to prevent from the potential fails, please. Do not pull out the connected USB cable when the installation is still processing.
When the installation is complete, the warning window will pop up.
If the pop-up warning window shows other error messages, it means that the installation is failed. In order to upgrade the firmware successfully, please do the all steps above again.
If you still can not upgrade the firmware, please read “3.
When fail to upgrade the firmware, start Upgrade Mode manually.”

3. When fail to upgrade the firmware, start Upgrade Mode manually
The steps of starting S1200 Upgrade Mode manually are below:
1. Please turn off S1200, or shutdown the device by removing the battery. If you remove the battery out to shutdown the device, please remember to install the battery back into the device before upgrade the firmware.
2. Press and hold Call Key and End Key together, and then, press and hold
Power Key . At this time, S1200 will get into Upgrade Mode.
3. In Upgrade Mode, S1200 will be ready for upgrading, once the Led light turns green.
[Note:] If the Led light does not turn green, or the boot screen is displayed, it means that the manual settings are failed. In order to get into Upgrade
Mode , you need to do all steps (1~3) again.

4. The follow-up step is to check your ActiveSync Connection Settings on your PC or notebook. You need to un-mark the item named “ Allow USB connections ,” and then tap “ OK .”
If the operating system of your computer is Windows Vista, the screen is below.
5. Then, you can execute S1200 Upgrade Tools (setup.exe) for upgrading the firmware.
6. When the upgrading process is complete, remember to restore the
