Allen-Bradley 140U Instruction Leaflet

Allen-Bradley 140U is a plug-in module that can be installed in K-Frame circuit breakers, providing remote signaling and interlocking capabilities. It consists of one or two single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) switches that are actuated by the circuit breaker's operating mechanism cradle.

When the circuit breaker is in the ON or OFF position, the "make" (alarm) contact is open and the "break" (lockout) contact is closed. Conversely, when the circuit breaker is tripped, the "make" contact is closed and the "break" contact is open.

The auxiliary switch in the combination accessory indicates the status of the circuit breaker contacts and can be used for remote signaling and system interlocking purposes. It has one "a" and one "b" contact, with the "a" contact closed and the "b" contact open when the circuit breaker contacts are closed.
