percussion instrument! You'll be happy to know that
making music with the DD-3 is easy and fun!
Your DD-3 1s a high quality precision instrument,
which when properly cared for, will provide you
with years of playing pleasure.
This Owner’s Guide contains all the information
vou ll need to set up and begin playing your DD-3.

and try out the functions as they are described.

The DD-3 is capable of playing a variety of music styles, ranging
from Dance to Fanfare, that accompany you while you play.
When the DD-3 is first switched on the Fanfare style is automati-
cally selected, follow the steps below to select another accompa-
niment style.

~ The STYLE mode can be easily selected by pressing the
STYLE/SYNTH button once or twice. At each press of the
STYLE/SYNTH button the DD-3 “beeps” to confirm the
mode. The higher pitched sound indicates that the STYLE
mode is selected, and the lower pitched sound indicates
that the SYNTH mode is selected. |
The STYLE mode is automatically set when the DD-3 is
turned on.

This function automatically plays random combinations of the
variations from the Music Style Synth mode.

Press the EASY SYNTH button.
Each press of the button generates a
new combination at random.

AS TT The DD-3 accompaniment styles are a combination, synthesized, of

4 different parts: DRUM, BASS, CHORD, and SONG. You can select
one of three different variation patterns for each part. These
variation patterns make your music more interesting and add that
extra bit of variety which makes your DD-3 a joy to play.
Make sure the DD-3 is in SYNTH mode.
The SYNTH mode can be easily selected by pressing the
STYLE/SYNTH button once or twice. At each press of the
STYLE/SYNTH button the DD-3 generates a confirmation
sound. The lower pitched sound indicates that the SYNTH
mode | is selected.
2 Press the START/ENDING button to start the
accompaniment.
The previously selected or default music style will now
play back.
~~ Press the desired MUSIC STYLE SYNTH button.
Choose a new accompaniment variation pattern from the
Accompaniment Variation Pattern List on the left.
Tano Trouble?
Something not working as it should? In many cases what appears to be
a malfunction can be traced to a simple error that can be remedied
immediately. Before assuming that your DD-3 is faulty, please check the
following points.

= The DD-3 speakers produce a “pop” or buzzing sound
whenever the power is turned on or off.
= > This is normal, and is no cause for concern.
. e 3 The wrong instrument sounds when you strike a pad.
Adjusting Tem po Try re-assigning the correct instrument. The DD-3 automatically
reverts to its default settings when it is turned off and on again.
A The sound is distorted or intermittent.
You can adjust the tempo of an accompaniment as it plays.
There are 16 steps of tempo adjustment.
1. Press the À (Up) button to increase the tempo one step.
Press the Y (Down) button to decrease the tempo one step.
Pressing both the TEMPO/ASSIGN buttons simultaneously
will return the default tempo setting of the selected style.
In this case, your batteries are probably flat and need replacement.
