FCC REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Your telephone equipment is registered with the Federal Communications Commission and is in compliance with
parts 15 and 68, FCC Rules and Regulations.
1 Notification to the Local Telephone Company
On the bottom of this equipment is a label indicating, among other information, the FCC Registration number and
Ringer Equivalence Number (REN) for the equipment. You must, upon request, provide this information to your
telephone company.
The REN is useful in determining the number of devices you may connect to your telephone line and still have all
of these devices ring when your telephone number is called. In most (but not all) areas, the sum of the RENs of all
devices connected to one line should not exceed 5. To be certain of the number of devices you may connect to your
line as determined by the REN, you should contact your local telephone company.
Notes
• This equipment may not be used on coin service provided by the telephone company.
• Party lines are subject to state tariffs, and therefore, you may not be able to use your own telephone equipment if
you are on a party line. Check with your local telephone company.
• Notice must be given to the telephone company upon permanent disconnection of your telephone from your line.
2 Rights of the Telephone Company
Should your equipment cause trouble on your line which may harm the telephone network, the telephone
company shall, where practicable, notify you that temporary discontinuance of service may be required. Where
prior notice is not practicable and the circumstances warrant such action, the telephone company may temporarily
discontinue service immediately. In case of such temporary discontinuance, the telephone company must: (1)
promptly notify you of such temporary discontinuance; (2) afford you the opportunity to correct the situation; and
(3) inform you of your right to bring a complaint to the Commission pursuant to procedures set forth in Subpart E
of Part 68, FCC Rules and Regulations.
The telephone company may make changes in its communications facilities, equipment, operations or procedures
where such action is required in the operation of its business and not inconsistent with FCC Rules and Regulations.
If these changes are expected to affect the use or performance of your telephone equipment, the telephone
company must give you adequate notice, in writing, to allow you to maintain uninterrupted service.
INTERFERENCE INFORMATION
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device

that may cause undesired operation.

INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on purchasing this Caller ID telephone. This unit was
designed to be simple to use, and you can reach its full potential more
quickly by taking a few minutes to read this User’s Guide. This Caller ID
telephone is a multifunction product for use with the Caller ID and Call
Waiting services available from your local telephone company.
Your Caller ID phone enables you to:
• Identify callers before you answer the phone, and view the telephone
number and name of a waiting caller (Call Waiting Caller ID).
• View the time and date of each incoming call.
• Record up to 75 Caller ID messages sequentially.
• Know who called while you were away.
IMPORTANT: In order to use all of the features of this unit, you must
subscribe to two separate services: the standard Name/Number Caller ID
Service to know who is calling when the phone rings and Caller ID with Call
Waiting Service to know who is calling while you are on the phone. Contact
your local telephone company to subscribe to Caller ID and Caller ID with Call
Waiting Services.
CAUTION: When using telephone equipment, there are basic safety

for future reference.

MODULAR JACK REQUIREMENTS
You need an RJ11 type modular phone jack, which is the
most common type of phone jack and might look like the
one pictured here. If you don’t have a modular jack, call
your local phone company to find out how to get one
installed.

INSTALLATION & SETUP
IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INFORMATION
• Never install telephone wiring during a lightning storm.
• Never touch uninsulated telephone wires or terminals, unless the
telephone line has been disconnected at the network interface.
• Use caution when installing or modifying telephone lines.
DATA PORT
This phone is equipped with a data port for you to connect to an auxiliary
phone device, such as a fax machine, computer modem, answering
machine, or even a cordless phone.
INSTALLING THE BATTERIES
Your Caller ID phone uses 4 AA-size alkaline batteries for receiving and
storing Caller ID records and for the numbers you use for memory dialing.
IMPORTANT: You will have approximately 60 seconds to replace the batteries
before the memories stored are lost. Please read the instructions before
replacing the batteries and have the batteries ready to be inserted beforehand.

CAUTION: Unplug all phone cords from the
wall before installing or changing batteries.
1. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw
and pry up the battery compartment door
on the bottom of the phone.
2. Insert 4 AA-size alkaline batteries as
shown on the diagram in the battery
compartment.
3. Snap the battery compartment door back
into place and tighten the screw.
4. If the line cord was previously connected,
re-attach it to the unit and check your
memory locations.
NOTE: If the low battery icon
appears
in the display, you need to replace the
batteries. It is important that you replace the
batteries as soon as possible in order to
maintain Caller ID operation.
During the replacing of batteries, a backup
circuit in the unit will retain your stored
information for up to 60 seconds. Write
down any stored information you do not
want erased.
IMPORTANT: If you’re not going to use the
telephone for more than 30 days, remove
the batteries because they can leak and
damage the unit.

DESKTOP INSTALLATION
1. Plug the coiled cord into the handset. Plug the other end into the jack on
the side of the base. Place the handset in the cradle on the base.
2. Plug the line cord into jack on the back of the base. Plug the other end
into a wall jack.
3. Set the RINGER switch on the base to the desired loudness.
• HI = Default, loudest sound.
• LO = Sound will be lower.
• OFF = Telephone will not ring.

The speakerphone can be mounted on a
wall phone plate (not included).

1. Plug the phone cord into the phone jack
on the back of the unit, and wrap the
extra phone line around the bottom of
the base.

2. Connect the phone line to the modular
jack on the wall.
3. Slip the mounting holes over the wall
plate posts and slide the unit down
firmly into place.
4. Plug the handset line into the unit, then
hang up the phone.

There are four programmable menus
available: Local Area Code, Regional Area
Code, Language, and T/P Dial Mode.
You should not plug the telephone into the
wall line jack while setting up the Caller ID
menu. An incoming call may invalidate the
change if it was not yet saved. The phone
must display xx CALLS before you can
enter the setup menu.

The summary screen shows the current
time, date, and number of new calls to be
reviewed. It is displayed until the REVIEW
or OPTION buttons are pressed or a Caller
ID record is received. Within 10 seconds of
receiving a new call, the summary screen is
displayed and the new call flashes.

RECEIVING AND STORING CALLS
This unit receives and displays information
transmitted by your local phone company.
This information can include the phone
number, date, and time; or the name,
phone number, date, and time. The unit can
store up to 75 calls for later review. When
the memory is full, a new call automatically
replaces the oldest call in memory. "NEW "
appears in the display for calls received
that have not been reviewed.

limited areas). Once you pickup the phone,
the number will be automatically dialed.

shows PICKUP PHONE. A 10 second timer
will appear in the upper right corner of the
display and count down time until the unit
returns to the Caller ID records.

MESSAGE INDICATORS
The following special messages indicate the status of a message or the
unit:
NO CALLS
The caller memory is empty.
UNKNOWN CALLER The incoming call does not have Caller ID service or
their service area is not linked to yours. If UNKNOWN
CALLER appears along with a calling number, the name
information for that number is not available.
ERROR
Caller information has been interrupted or corrupted
during transmission.
NO DATA
No Caller ID signal has been detected, or Caller ID
service has not been activated.
START/END
You are at the beginning or the end of the Caller ID
memory log.
Battery power level is low.
VIP

VIP Caller ID record that is programmed into the VIP
log or is the same number of a previous programmed
VIP record.
USING THE SPEAKERPHONE
SPEAKERPHONE LOCATION
For best speakerphone performance, avoid
the following:
• Areas with high background noise. (The
microphone might pick up these sounds
and prevent the speakerphone from
going into the receiving mode when you
finish talking.)
• Surfaces affected by vibration.
• Recessed areas such as in a corner,
under a cupboard, or next to a cabinet,
which can generate an echo effect.

SPEAKERPHONE USE
Note the following guidelines when using
the speakerphone:
• The speakerphone works similar to a
two-way radio in that you can only listen
or talk at one time.
• Stay reasonably close to the phone so
that you can be clearly heard by the

STORING A PAUSE IN MEMORY
The REDIAL button has dual functionality. It
becomes a PAUSE button if the STORE
button is pressed first. It is valid only when
storing a number into memory. Use the
REDIAL button to insert a pause when a delay
is needed in an automatic dialing sequence.
For example, when you must dial a 9 to get
an outside line, or when you enter codes to
access your long distance company.
You may need to adjust the length of the
pause. It can be adjusted from 1 to 9
seconds. The default setting is 4 seconds.

• ERROR appears in the display if the unit detects anything other than valid
Caller ID information during the silent period after the first ring. This
message indicates either the presence of noise on the line, or that an
invalid message has been sent from the telephone company.

What your warranty covers:

INTRODUCCIÓN
Felicitaciones por su compra de este aparato Identificador de Llamadas.
Este aparato fue diseñado para ser fácil de usar, y usted puede
aprovecharlo al máximo más rápidamente si se toma unos minutos para
leer la Guía del Usuario. Este teléfono con Identificador de Llamadas es un
producto con múltiples funciones para ser utilizado con los servicios de
Identificador de Llamadas y Llamada en Espera que son disponibles a
través de su compañía telefónica local.
Su teléfono Identificador de Llamadas le permite:
• Identificar a la persona que llama antes de que usted conteste la
llamada y ver el número telefónico y el nombre de la persona que llama
(Identificador de Llamada en Espera).
• Ver la hora y la fecha de cada llamada entrante.
• Grabar hasta 75 mensajes del Identificador de Llamadas en secuencia.
• Saber quién llamó mientras usted no estaba.
IMPORTANTE: Para poder utilizar toads las funciones de este producto,
usted debe suscribirse a dos servicios diferentes: el Servicio Estándar de
Identificador de Nombre/ Número para saber quién llama cuando el teléfono
timbra, y al Servicio de Identificador de Llamada en Espera para saber quien
está llamando mientras usted está en el teléfono. Llame a su compañía
telefónica local para suscribirse.
CUIDADO: Cuando utilice equipo telefónico, hay instrucciones
básicas de seguridad que siempre deben seguirse. Refiérase a la guía

REQUISITOS DE CONEXIÓN
Para conectar el teléfono se necesita un enchufe modular
telefónico RJ11, que es el tipo de enchufe más común y
se parece al ilustrado. Si usted no tiene este tipo de
enchufe, llame a su compañía telefónica local para
preguntar cómo conseguirlo.

INFORMACIÓN IMPORTANTE PARA LA INSTALACIÓN
• Nunca instale el cableado del teléfono durante una tormenta de
relámpagos.
• Nunca toque cables telefónicos o terminales que no estén aislados, a
menos que la línea telefónica haya sido desconectada en la interfaz de
la red.
• Sea cuidadoso cuando instale o modifique líneas telefónicas.
TERMINAL DE DATOS
Este teléfono está equipado con una terminal de Datos para que usted
pueda conectar un accesorio telefónico auxiliar, como una máquina de
Fax, módem para computadora, máquina contestadora, o incluso un
teléfono inalámbrico.
INSTALACIÓN DE LAS BATERÍAS
Su teléfono con Identificador de Llamadas usa 4 baterías alcalinas tamaño
“AA” para recibir y almacenar datos del Identificador de Llamadas y para
los números que usted usa para marcar por memoria.
IMPORTANTE: Usted tendrá aproximadamente 60 segundos para cambiar las
baterías antes de que los datos almacenados en la memoria se pierdan. Por
favor lea las instrucciones antes de cambiar las baterías y tenga las baterías
listas de antemano para ser cambiadas.

CUIDADO: Desconecte todos los cables
telefónicos de la pared antes de instalar o
cambiar las baterías.
1. Utilice un destornillador para aflojar el
tornillo y abrir la puerta del
compartimento de las baterías en la parte
de abajo del teléfono.
2. Introduzca las 4 baterías alcalinas tamaño
“AA” como se muestra en el diagrama
dentro del compartimento de la batería.
3. Vuelva a colocar la puerta del
compartimento de baterías hasta que
escuche el chasquido y apriete el tornillo.
4. Si el cable de línea estaba previamente
conectado, vuelva a asegurar el cable al
aparato y verifique las localizaciones de
la memoria.

NOTA: Si el símbolo de baja batería
aparece en la pantalla, usted necesita
cambiar las baterías. Es importante que
usted cambie las baterías tan pronto como
sea posible para retener la información de la
operación del Identificador de Llamadas.
Durante el tiempo en el que se reemplazan las baterías, un circuito de
repuesto en el aparato retendrá su información almacenada durante hasta 60
segundos. Anote cualquier información almacenada que usted no quiera que
se borre.
IMPORTANTE: Si usted no va a utilizar su teléfono durante más de 30 días,
saque las baterías para evitar que una posible fuga dañe el aparato.

INSTALACIÓN SOBRE SUPERFICIE PLANA
1. Conecte el cable espiral al auricular. Conecte el otro extremo al contacto
en el costado de la base. Coloque el auricular en su sitio sobre la base.
2. Conecte el cable telefónico al contacto en la parte posterior de la base.
Conecte el otro extremo en el contacto de la pared.
3. Coloque el selector del timbre (“RINGER”) de la base en la posición de
volumen deseada.
• “HI” = Pre-programado, sonido más alto.
• “LO” = El sonido será más bajo.
• “OFF” = El teléfono no timbrará.

Hay cuatro menús de programaciones
disponibles: Clave de Área Local, Clave de
Área Regional, Idioma, y Modalidad para
marcar por Tono/Pulso.

programando el menú para el Identificador
de Llamadas. Una llamada entrante puede

3. Para inscribir y cambiar el código de área, oprima el botón “OPTION”
nuevamente. La pantalla muestra el código de área que está
actualmente almacenado. El dígito del extremo izquierdo o un signo de
menos (-) parpadeará, indicando que está listo para aceptar la
inscripción de la clave de área.
4. Oprima 1-9 en el teclado para inscribir la clave. En caso de errores,
oprima el botón para borrar (“ERASE”) para eliminar los dígitos y
vuelva a inscribirlos.
5. Cuando el dígito deseado está parpadeando, oprima el botón
“REVIEW"para avanzar al siguiente dígito.
6. Oprima el botón “OPTION” nuevamente para almacenar la clave de
área y regresar a la pantalla con la indicación “CODIG AREA LOCA.”

oprima nuevamente el botón “OPTION.”
NOTA: Durante la primera programación, la
indicación “— — —” aparece en la pantalla y
el guión del extremo izquierdo parpadea
indicando que el aparato está listo para
aceptar la primera clave de área regional.
Mientras cambia la clave de área regional, el
guión del extremo izquierdo parpadea.
4. Utilice el teclado numérico para inscribir el primero de los tres dígitos
de la clave de área regional. Si usted comete un error, oprima el botón
para borrar (“ERASE”) para eliminar los tres dígitos y volver a inscribir
la clave de área.
5. Oprima nuevamente el botón de opciones (“OPTIONS”) para inscribir el
segundo dígito de la clave de área regional y repita los pasos 4 y 5
hasta que todos los dígitos de la clave de área regional estén inscritos.
6. Oprima el botón “OPTION” nuevamente para almacenar la nueva
programación y regresar a la pantalla con la indicación
“CLAV REGIONAL 2.”

LLAMADAS
Este aparato recibe y muestra información
transmitida por su compañía telefónica local.
Esta información puede incluir el número
telefónico, fecha, y hora; o el nombre,
número telefónico, fecha y hora. Este aparato
puede almacenar hasta 75 llamadas para ser
revisadas después. Cuando la memoria está
llena, una llamada nueva automáticamente
reemplazará a la más antigua en la memoria.
La indicación “NUEVA” aparecerá en la
pantalla para las llamadas recibidas que no
han sido revisadas.

PARA VOLVER A MARCAR (CONTESTANDO UNA LLAMADA)
Mientras revisa los datos del Identificador de Llamadas, usted puede
volver a marcar los números mostrados en la pantalla, simplemente
oprimiendo el botón para marcar (“DIAL”).
NOTA: Si la indicación “LEVANTE TELEFON” aparece en la pantalla, no
puede hacerse ningún otro cambio al número. La información enviada desde
la compañía telefónica se sabe que es válida y el número puede ser marcado
para contestar la llamada (puede utilizarse únicamente en ciertas áreas). Una
vez que usted levanta el auricular, el número será automáticamente marcado.

CUIDADO GENERAL DEL PRODUCTO
Para mantener su teléfono funcionando bien y con buena apariencia,

• Evite poner el teléfono cerca de calentadores (calefactores) de ambiente
y dispositivos que generen interferencia eléctrica ejemplo, motores o
lámparas fluorescentes).

GARANTÍA LIMITADA
Lo que cubre su garantía:

Defectos de materiales o de trabajo.
Por cuánto tiempo después de la compra:
• Un año, a partir de la fecha de compra.
(El periodo de garantía para unidades arrendadas se inicia con la primera renta o 45 días de la fecha del embarque a la
firma de arrendamiento, lo que ocurra primero).
Lo que haremos:

garantía por el resto del periodo de garantía del producto original.
Cómo obtener servicio:
