In general
The Armon Pura is a fully mechanical arm support. It has a unique mechanism that compensates the weight of the user’s arm. Thereby the arm feels weightless. People with limited strength can then use the strength they have got left to lift their arm again. The weight compensation is steplessly adjustable through the controls.
The arm support does not take over any function. It only supports the arm. The user makes the movements him/her self, using the strength he/she ’s got left. This is beneficial for the muscles and joints of the user. Our products follow all the movements and support the arms in a 3D area.
The Armon Pura can compensate an arm weight from appr. 850 grams up to appr. 3400 grams. The Pura light can compensate an arm weight from app. 600 grams up to appr. 2500 grams. It is possible to mount all types of
Armon braces.
The Armon Pura weighs approximately 5500 grams.
Intended use
The Armon Pura is a dynamic arm support for users who are (still) able to independently level their arm and should only be used to support the weight of an arm with a maximum weight of 4000 grams.
Left, right or both arms can be supported. It is important to choose the right brace for optimal functionality.
The Armon pura can be mounted on a wheel chair, working chair or on a stand.
The Armon Pura can also be used as an arm support in working situations to lighten strenuous working conditions and thus preventing arm, neck and shoulder injuries.
Parts of the Armon Pura
The Armon Pura has a rotation frame which is also the mounting point.
The end of the upper arm is where the brace is mounted.

Braces
Armon Products has four different types of braces and every type is available in three different sizes. The brace is the part where you put your arm in. It is the connection between the arm support and the user. The braces are exchangeable between all our arm supports.
The braces available in ascending order of functionality:
The more advanced the brace, the more functionality you can achieve with this brace. The right individual adjustment of your brace should only be done by qualified and therefore trained specialists.
Placing the arm
Place the arm in the brace in the following way:
•
The under arm should lay in the brace
•
The upper arm should be placed against the upper arm support, not far above the elbow.
•
The elbow should be free.

You can adjust the level of compensation (force) of the Pura steplessly, to compensate the weight of every arm.
This can be done with or without the arm placed in the Pura. The force is adjusted by turning the yellow knob at the back of the Pura.
Turning the yellow knob moves the white indicator through the scale division. On the scale division are numbers. The numbers refer to a level of weight compensation.
An arm weighs approximately 5 % of your body weight. In the table on the next page, in the first three columns, you can see how much an arm weighs at a certain body weight.
In the fifth and sixth column you can see the amount of force that is given by the Pura at which number. This gives an indication for adjusting the right level of compensation. In practice users seldom compensate 100% of their arm weight. Most common is around 80% compensation. All figures below give are based on average statistics.
