INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
This appliance is designed to toast and heat bread. Can also be used to toast crumpets and croissants. Do not use it to cook any other food. Do not heat bread slices which are wrapped in aluminium or plastic foil.
Completely remove all elements from inside or outside the appliance that were used for packaging and transport.
Install the crumb tray correctly. Never use the toaster without having correctly installed the crumb tray.
Before using the toaster for the first time, turn it on without bread for a few minutes. It is normal for it to give off a little smoke at the start.
TOASTING BREAD:
Plug it into the mains.
Put slices of bread on the toaster grill and switch ON.
Set the timer (2) for the desired degree of browning
DO NOT spread oil or butter on slices of bread before toasting.

Follow the above when toasting crumpets or croissants but reset the timer (2) to suit. (if unsure start at low timer setting and increase to desired browning).
DO NOT cover the toaster grill completely with bread. Leave spaces between slices.
Choose the toasting time by turning the control (maximum time: 5 minutes).
The toasting time depends on the type of bread (frozen, dry or fresh) and on the thickness of the slices.
Turn the slice of bread over manually when it is toasted on one side.
Caution: Bread will be hot. Use tongs to flip the bread over half-way through toasting.
The toasting process will end automatically at the end of the toasting time, although you can stop it early turning the timer control to the OFF position (O).
Remove crumbs from crumb tray regularly.

PLUG WIRING (UK & IRELAND)
This appliance is fitted with a BS 1363 13-amp plug. If you have to replace the fuse, only those that are ASTA or BSI approved to BS1362 and with a rated current of 13-amps should be used. If there is a fuse cover fitted, this cover must be re-fitted after changing the fuse. If the fuse cover is lost or damaged the plug must not be used. Spare fuse holders and fuses are available from electrical outlets. If the socket outlets in your home or office are not suitable for this product’s plug, the plug must be removed and disposed of safely. Attempts to insert the plug into the wrong socket is likely to cause electric hazard. A replacement plug should be wired according to the following instructions:
The cable
A mains electricity cable contains two or three inner wires. Each has a core of copper and an outer layer of flexible plastic. This product is earthed; the wires in the cord set are colour coded in the following way:
BLUE
BROWN
GREEN & YELLOW
NEUTRAL
LIVE
EARTH
The diagram shows the key features of a correctly wired three-pin mains plug.
CARE AND CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS:
Clean the appliance before using it for the first time, immediately after each use and after not using it for a long period of time.

Before cleaning the toaster, make sure it is unplugged from the mains and completely cold.
1.
Clean the outside of the appliance and toaster grill with a damp cloth.
2.
Crumbs collect in the crumb tray. Pull out the crumb tray to remove crumbs, bits of bread, etc. and clean regularly.
3.
Always use the grip to pull out the crumb tray.
4.
Place the tray back in place and ensure it is placed correctly.
5.
To store the appliance, store the power cord by winding it on the support located on the base.
6.
Do NOT immerse in water.
7.
Do NOT use abrasive cleaners or sharp utensils to clean this appliance.
8.
Store the item in a cool, dry place.
9.
Wipe with a clean dry cloth.
DISPOSAL
• Dispose of all packaging, paper, cartons, plastic and plastic bags in accordance with your local recycling regulations.
• At the end of the product’s lifespan please dispose of it at an authorised household WEEE waste recycling centre .
