Horizon Fitness SPF-20A is a versatile booklet-making machine designed for professional print shops and offices. It combines stitching, folding, and trimming capabilities in one unit, allowing you to create high-quality finished booklets with various sheet sizes, including A4, A5, A3, and custom sizes up to 350 mm x 500 mm. The SPF-20A features a user-friendly control panel with touch screen navigation for easy setup and operation. It's also equipped with safety features to ensure user protection during operation.

Fold Plate Gap Adjust Knob
This knob is used to adjust the fold plate gap according to the collated sheets' thickness.
Fold Skew Adjust Knob
This knob is used to adjust the skew in fold.
Fold Knife Height Adjust Knob
This knob is used to adjust the fold knife height.
Stitch Position Correct Knob
This knob is used to correct the stitch position when one of stitches is not aligned with the fold line.

This knob is used to adjust operating time of delivery conveyor according to the booklet size and thickness.
Stitch Delay Time Knob
This knob is used to adjust the stitch delay time to give enough time for jogging sheets.
Belt Speed Knob
This knob is used to adjust the belt rotating speed.
Stitcher Inching Button
This knob is used to inch stitcher.

1.
Before turning on the power switch, make sure that the corner stitch guide is not installed.
- If the SPF-20A is initialized with the corner stitch guide installed, the corner stitch guide hits inside of the machine and the machine may not be initialized correctly.

Turn on power switch.

- About 60 seconds later, the operation mode select page appears.

- Take utmost care when selecting the sheet size because SPF-20A and stitcher heads moves automatically.

When the either drive block on the both side is not installed at the stitcher unit, press the stop button and install the drive block. After installing the drive block, release the stop button and go to next step.
NOTE
- If the stitcher head prevents from installing the drive block, move the stitcher heads to inside by following the steps below.

- When using custom size sheets "X", setup the sheet size as follows.
(1) Input the sheet length and width. (Regarding the sheet size available for the stitch & fold operation, refer to page 15.)
NOTE
- The stitch position is automatically set to half of the sheet length. Also the stitch position can be set by inputting numbers.
- The stitch distance in mm unit can be adjusted within a range of 73 mm to 90 mm when sheet width is 230 mm or less, within a range of 140 mm to 160 mm when sheet width is more than 230 mm.
- The stitch distance in inch unit can be adjusted within a range of 2.87" to 3.54" when sheet width is 4.76" or less, within a range of 3.86" to 4.65" when sheet width is more than 4.76" to 8.50" or less, within a range of 5.12" to 5.91" when sheet width is more than 8.50".

The gap can be adjusted within 2 to 7 mm
(0.08" to 0.3"). The initial setup of the gap is
4 to 5 mm (0.16" to 0.2").

3-1-4 Fold Knife Height Adjustment
This section shows how to adjust fold knife height according to number of sheets and the sheet thickness.
- For thin sheets, turn fold knife height adjust knob clockwise to raise fold knife.
- For thick sheets, turn fold knife height adjust knob counterclockwise to lower fold knife.
NOTE
- To set the standard height, turn fold knife height adjust knob fully clockwise and then turn fold knife height adjust knob counterclockwise three turns.
CAUTION
If the knife is raised too much when the fold roller gap is narrow or the top and bottom width of the booklet is small, the knife may hit the folding roller.
3-1-5 Stitch Position Correction
When stitch position is not aligned with the folded line even if sheets are folded correctly, correct stitch position.
1.

- When screwing the detection bar, keep some distance from the proximity sensor to prevent the bar hitting the sensor.

4-3 Threading
This section shows how to thread wire to stitcher head.
Before Attachment
When you purchased a new stitcher head, put the mark with a same color on the stitcher head and former.
This prevents the former from being installed to another stitcher head after removing it.
The former is adjusted so that the wire hold position is aligned with the V-shaped ditch of the stitcher head.
Therefore, if the former is installed to another stitcher head, the wire may not be stitched correctly.

(SPF-CV) to the SPF-20A.

(1) Install the positioning pins. (on the front and rear sides)
(2) Remove the six locking screws.

- Stack booklets or sheets of 320 mm (12.6") height on the floor and place the infeed conveyor section on the sheets. The conveyor can be handled easily.
(4) Put the infeed conveyor section on the positioning pins and lock with the locking screws removed in step (2). (Three screws each on the front and rear sides).

-To prevent the spacer from falling while it is being set, stick the spacer by both sides tape before placing the cover.
