Once a musical instrument generates sound vibrations, it reaches the human ear through various mediating, objects, each of which significantly affects the sound. The material and configuration of the instrument, the electric/magnetic amplifying system, the air and the reverberation of the room all affect the final sound. Sound modeling, the latest DSP technology, "virtually" reconstructs these objects. Roland's breakthrough Composite Object Sound Modeling (COSM ® ) uses the advantages of multiple modeling methods and succeeds in accurately emulating existing sounds, as well as producing sounds that have never before been created.

FFP™ technology allows D-Bass™ Amps and Cube-30 Bass to precisely predict and adjust the response characteristics of amplifier and speaker output before the bass signal reaches them. This ability to “sense” incoming signals and adjust for them in advance greatly improves the amp’s efficiency, allowing them to produce a clear, responsive, and very powerful-sounding output far beyond its conservative power rating.

The power behind Roland's GK gear lies in the GK-2A Divided Pickup. This unique pickup provides an individual output for each string—crucial for accurate synth tracking, advanced pickup and guitar modeling, and precise pitch-to-MIDI conversion. Once the GK-2A has been attached to a steel-stringed electric or acoustic guitar—or purchased as part of a special "Roland-Ready" guitar—users can tap into the amazing polyphonic pitch-shifting power, COSM Guitar Modeling, and synthesis power of Roland's GK-Ready gear.

*Note that the GK-2A’s functions vary between different GK gear. Please check the specifications for Roland's GK-Ready gear to see what types of effects are possible.

Sonic Brilliance

The Roland Jazz Chorus

The Amp That Started It All.

Since their debut in 1975, Roland’s Jazz Chorus amplifiers have been a favorite among guitarists for their sparkling clean sound, lush chorus and rock-solid construction. Now this rich heritage can be found in

Roland’s full line of guitar and bass amplifiers—from the VGA- and

Cube-Series to the AC- and DB-Series.

Jazz Chorus

Roland’s most celebrated guitar amp series

Clean, Natural Tone

Used on thousands of classic jazz, funk, rock, reggae and ska records, the Roland JC-Series has proven to be one of the most popular guitar amp lineups in history. No other amp can match the sparkling clean tone and wide stereo presence of a Jazz Chorus amp.

Legendary Chorus Effects

When it comes to lush chorus sounds, nothing beats a Jazz Chorus amplifier. The combination of two independent amplifiers and Roland's ultra-smooth chorus technology makes for some of the widest chorus effects ever. This type of spacious chorus sound cannot be re-created electronically, but only by enclosing two speakers in the specially designed cabinet. Play through a JC-Series amp and you'll notice how the chorus seems to naturally reflect off the walls, ceiling and floor. There's nothing else like it!

■ JC CHORUS ™

Our flagship model with full control over the chorus sound, plus onboard distortion and reverb.

JC-120

Jazz Chorus ™

The classic guitar amplifier based on the original 1975 design

Timeless Design

Things have changed since 1975, but not the rugged design of the JC-Series. Sporting the classic look of the originals— casters, corner protectors, studded edges and all—today’s

Jazz Chorus amps are built to the same level of quality and durability that has made the

JC-Series a mainstay with guitarists worldwide.

Feed Forward

Processing Inside

Thanks to Roland’s Feed Forward

Processing technology, DB-Series amps can maximize their efficiency by “sensing” the incoming bass signal and adjusting the amplifier and speaker response characteristics in advance.

COSM Bass Amp

Modeling

More than just EQ curves, the

DB-Series’ COSM Bass Amp

Modeling can mathematically re-create every aspect of vintage and modern Solid State, Tube and

Overdriven amp sounds—complete with natural tube compression effects.

Unique D-Chorus

Effect

Roland’s D-Chorus is a splitfrequency chorus effect that allows bass players to add rich chorus to the high frequencies without muddying the lows.

A front or top-panel knob lets players adjust the effect’s intensity.

Roadworthy

Construction

All DB-Series amps are built with high-quality components for years of trouble-free use and include a

DI connector for direct connection to PA systems. The larger

DB-900/700 also feature convenient side handles and casters for easy transportation.
