to reduce the risk of electric shock. This machine is equipped with a cord PIN (1,1)
having an equipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug. The COVER OF GROUNDED “|”

MEANS
This machine is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit, and has a
grounded plug that looks like the plug illustrated in figure A. A temporary
adapter that looks like the adapter illustrated in figures B and C may be used to connect this plug to a 2-pole
receptacle as shown in figure B if a properly grounded outlet is not available. The temporary adapter should be
used only until a properly grounded outlet (figure A) can be installed by a qualified electrician. The green colored
rigid ear, lug, or the like extending from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground such as a
properly grounded outlet box cover. Whenever the adapter is used, it must be held in place by a metal screw.

Set-Up and Operation
RECEIVING YOUR UNIT:
Every part of your Pro 16/Plus Buffer was carefully checked, tested, and inspected before it left the manufac-
turing plant. Upon receiving the unit, examine the shipping carton carefully for any hidden damage that may
have occurred during shipping. Claims for damage or shortage should be filed immediately with the contract carrier.
Remove all loose parts and strapping which may have been attached to the machine for shipping purposes.
This machine is intended for commercial use.
PREPARATION
To prepare the machine for operation, make sure it is properly assembled.
Your new floor machine operates in the normal side to side motion of a conventional single disc machine. Be prepared
before starting by removing all obstructions or other obstacles in the area to be worked. Check the proper application
recommendations and procedures found on the label of your stain, floor finish, or maintenance product.
NEVER OPERATE THE MACHINE WITHOUT THE DRIVER AND BONA CONDITIONING PAD INSTALLED!
To properly attach the driver, UNPLUG THE FLOOR MACHINE, place the handle in the vertical position, then
tilt the machine back until the handle rests on the floor. Straddle the handle, facing the motor, and grasp the
driver with the block toward you. Place the driver clutch plate over the three lugs on the motor drive. Twist the
driver right to lock it into position. To remove the driver, UNPLUG THE MACHINE and follow the same procedure
as above, but by twisting the driver off with a firm jerk to the left. Remove the driver when the machine is not in
use. This will help prevent damage and reduce wobble problems. Never attempt to lock pad driver on the floor
sander by positioning (jumping) running floor sander on unattached pad driver.
E,
ATTACH BONA CONDITIONING PAD TO DRIVER
The 16” Bona Conditioning Pad attaches to the velcro on the driver pad. Ensure the Conditioning Pad and
velcro are in good condition before beginning the job.
OPERATION
Plug the machine's power cable into a properly grounded outlet. DO NOT remove the ground prong from the
buffer's power cord. This could result in serious injury or fatality. DO NOT operate this buffer if the power cord
or motor are damaged in any manner. This could result in serious injury or fatality.
Next, adjust the handle height to a comfortable position by loosening the Turn Knob (39), then pulling back on
the handle to appropriate operating height (hip). Tighten Turn Knob to lock handle in selected position. When
transporting or attaching pad driver, handle must be LOCKED in the upright position. NEVER TURN
MACHINE ON WITH HANDLE IN LOCKED UPRIGHT POSITION.
Pull out on the "Watch Dog" Safety Lock button and start the machine by depressing either the left or right
switch levers.
Both hands should be placed on the handle when the machine is in operation. The machine will glide sideways
over the floor by a slight raising and lowering of the handle. Raise the handle slightly to go to the right. Lower
the handle slightly to go left. Releasing the switch lever stops the machine at once.
We recommend using a 1/2 overlapping pattern in the same direction as the floor is installed. The operator
will have to judge how long to work a particular area, based on initial roughness and size of area to be
smoothed/blended.
DO NOT operate this buffer on other than dry hardwood floors. Operating on other than dry hardwood surfaces _
may damage the surface and/or buffer.

Maintenance
The Pro 16/Plus Buffer, if properly maintained, will have a long and trouble-free life. We recommend
that you make maintenance part of your daily work schedule.

when storing. Wipe the entire machine and cord down with a clean dry cloth. Remove the pad driver
and clean thoroughly. Wrap the machine's electrical cord onto the handles and the cord hook provided.

safety and to protect your limited warranty.
I Always disconnect the machine’s electrical plug from the electrical outlet before
ae, Performing any service, maintenance, pad changing or inspection of the machine.
MOTOR: The motor is lubricated for life under normal use. No oiling or greasing is necessary.
However, if the machine is used in dusty applications, the motor should be cleaned. Blowing the
motor out with compressed air or with the exhaust from a vacuum is suggested. Keeping the motor
clean will allow the clear passage of air for ventilation and prevent overheating. If you have any
questions regarding the maintenance of your floor machine, ASK YOUR SUPERVISOR.
