Installation Instructions
General information
The Webasto heaters of the Thermo Top series can be retrofitted with the Webasto
Telestart T91 and T100 HTM.
The D network telephone kit (option) enables the Telestart receiver to be connected to any existing D network aerial.
Certification
The CE mark is visible when the battery compartment cover is open.
The e1 mark is located on the Telestart receiver.

Telestart T91 / T100 HTM
Switching input for analogue connection of heater controls
In addition to the Telestart, a digital timer or a pushbutton switch can be installed.
Digital timer
Caution:
The digital timer and the pushbutton switch transmit differing signals to the Telestart receiver!
The signal input must be adapted to the appropriate heater control!
By default, the signal input of the Telestart receiver is tuned to the digital timer!
The included ESVT adapter must be adapted to the existing installation situation (heater controls and heaters) accordingly by "pinning it in".
See Kapitel "Appendices".
When the heater is activated (by pressing the instant heat button or by the start of a preset heater operating time) the Telestart receives a continuous plus signal from the digital timer during the entire operating time.
Upon deactivation of the heater (by pressing the instant heat button or when the end of the operating time preset on the digital timer is reached), the positive signal is cut off and the heater is switched off.
Pushbutton switch
Upon switching on or off using the pushbutton switch, the Telestart receiver receives a short plus signal.
For the Telestart to be able to recognise this signal, the switching input needs to be set to
"pushbutton switch".
The heater does not switch on if the switching input is not changed over to "pushbutton switch". Instead, it enters the postoperation stage and then switches off.
Changeover of switching input from "digital timer" to "pushbutton switch"
- Remove fuse 1A (black) from the heater's fuse holder (voltage interruption).
- Wait at least 5 seconds
- Install fuse in heater's fuse holder and briefly actuate the pushbutton switch
1x within 5 seconds
- Changeover is terminated
Changeover of switching input from "pushbutton switch" to
"digital timer"
- Remove fuse 1A (black) from the heater's fuse holder (voltage interruption).
- Wait at least 5 seconds
- Install fuse in heater's fuse holder and briefly actuate the instant heat button on the digital timer within 5 seconds
(display back lighting is illuminated)
- After 10 seconds briefly actuate the instant heat button (display back lighting is extinguished)
- Changeover is terminated

Installation
The installation of the Telestart T91/T100
HTM may only be performed by an authorised Webasto dealer.
Installation of Telestart receiver
Caution:
The Telestart receiver must be installed in the interior of the vehicle!
The preferred installation position is with the plug-in connectors pointing downward, with a maximum permissible deviation from the perpendicular of <45° in either direction.
Mounting bracket
Receiver
- Secure the mounting bracket using sheet-metal screws
- Fit receiver into the mounting bracket
Installation of aerial
Note:
Preferably, the aerial should be installed in the interior of the vehicle, at the top in the centre of the windshield or the rear window.
If installed in other locations, the range is likely to be diminished.
For an optimal reception, a distance of
20 +/- 5 mm from the windshield edge is to be maintained (see Fig.).
Depending on the installation location of the aerial, the cable is routed either under the vehicle roof trim and then to the right or left to the strut or directly downward under the instrument panel. max. 300
Note:
If there is insufficient space available, the aerial may be installed up to 150 mm off-centre.
- Clean windshield using grease-dissolving cleaner (e.g. methylated spirits)
- Peel off protective film from aerial and fix aerial into place
Note:
Do not shorten aerial cable nor bend it sharply.
Smallest winding diameter is 50 mm.
Aerial
Receiver
- Route aerial cable to the receiver and connect it to the receiver - Define the installation location of the receiver in the interior of the vehicle
(preferably near the digital timer in the case of retrofits)
