Thank you for choosing a JL Audio Stealthbox ® for your automotive sound system. With proper installation, your new vehicle-specific enclosed subwoofer system will deliver years of listening pleasure.
We strongly recommend that you have your new Stealthbox ® installed by your authorized JL Audio dealer. The installation professionals employed by your dealer have the necessary tools and experience to disassemble and reassemble your vehicle properly. Also, keep in mind that your warranty coverage extends to 2 years if your system is installed or approved by your authorized JL Audio dealer. If you prefer to perform your own installation, please read this installation guide completely before beginning the process.

If you choose to perform the installation yourself, it is absolutely vital that the Stealthbox ® be properly mounted to the vehicle according to these instructions. Failure to mount the enclosure properly presents two problems:
1) The sub-bass performance will suffer due to the movement of the enclosure caused by the force exerted by the woofer(s).
2) A loose enclosure presents a serious safety hazard in the event of a collision or sudden deceleration.

S T E P 1
Empty out the cargo area so that you have a clean area to work in.
S T E P 2
Remove the three screws on the battery cover, and remove the cover. Remove the screws holding in the storage tray, and remove the tray.
S T E P 3
The tools can be relocated to the foam tray inside the spare tire.

Remove the nut from the factory bracket, as shown. Retain the nut for use in Step 10 .
If this factory bracket isn’t present, substitute Steps 5-6 .
S T E P 5
Note: Steps 5-6 are only necessary on vehicles not equipped with the factory bracket shown in Step 4 .
Locate the two holes in the floor, and mark their perpindicular intersection, as shown.
S T E P 6
Using a 1” hole saw, drill a hole at the intersection, and slide a U-Nut through the driled hole, aligning it with the factory hole, as shown.
S T E P 7
Remove the speed clip from the location indicated by the left arrow, and relocate it to the location indicated by the right arrow, as shown.

Pictured is the included hardware, along with the factory nut removed from Step 4 .
S T E P 9
Using a pair of 1/4” - 20 x 1” Bolts, 1/4” Lock Washers, and 1/4”
Flat Washers, attach the Side Bracket to the Stealthbox® as shown, and hand tighten.
S T E P 1 0
Attach speaker cable to the Stealtbhox®, and place the enclosure into position, aligning the hole in the Side Bracket with the factory bolt, as shown. Secure the Side Bracket to the floor using the factory nut removed in Step 4 .
On vehicles not equipped with the factory bracket and bolt, secure the Side Bracket to the U-Nut installed in Step 6 using a ****.
S T E P 1 1
Slide the Stealthbox® as far back toward the rear of the vehicle as possilbe. Using an open-ended wrench, tighten the two 1/4” - 20 x 1” to secure the Side Bracket to the

Slide a U-Nut over the factory hole in the rail, as shown.
S T E P 1 3
Secure the Top Bracket to the Stealtbox® and to the rail using a pair of 1/4” - 20 x 1” Bolts, 1/4” Lock Washers, and 1/4” Flat
Washers.
S T E P 1 4
Cut the Foam Tape into three 4” strips, affix them to the new
Battery Cover, and trim away the excess, as shown.
S T E P 1 5
Secure the Battery Cover using the three #8 x 1” Screws.

JL Audio recommends high quality amplifiers such as the JL Audio XD700/5 or XD300/1. The diagram below shows the recommended crossover settings for the XD300/1. If another amplifier is being used, please reference this illustration and use similar settings on that amplifier.
All JL Audio amplifiers are very versatile audio components. Please consult the owner’s manual for even more detailed information about installing and tuning your amplifier.
C O N N E C T I O N S
Using quality power, signal, and speaker wire is essential in ensuring the performance of your Stealthbox®.
JL Audio recommends using a 4 AWG power kit such as the XC-PCS4-1B for your Stealthbox® amplifier. Other kits are available should you be using more than one amplifier. Signal wire such as the JL Audio Premium Audio
Interconnect Cables should be used to provide signal for both channels of the amplifier. JL Audio reccommends using 12AWG speaker wire for subwoofers such as our XC-BCS12-25.
