MAJORITY Hobson is a free-standing tower speaker system that doubles up as an easy to carry and use portable speaker. The Hobson is designed to house the Amazon Echo Dot (1st or 2nd Gen) inside the tower speaker system, whilst allowing for extensive use of the Dot's functionality when it is docked within the unit. With up to 6 hours (Echo Dot constant use) or 20 hours (Dot removed) of portable play time, the Hobson is perfect for use both at home and on the go.

The Hobson can also function as a standalone speaker system by connecting music devices to the speaker via the AUX-In port using a 3.5mm AUX cable. Alternatively, external speakers can connect to the Hobson via the AUX-Out port. Both functions can be utilised with or without an Echo Dot docked within the unit.

Charging the Hobson speaker

1. To make the tower speaker portable, you must charge the unit. To do so, take the Echo Dot (1st or 2nd Gen) off charge and remove the power cable.

Now use the Echo Dot’s power cable to charge up the Hobson speaker. Plug it into the micro-USB port ( Ref.8

) of the tower speaker and connect to a mains power source to begin charging.

It can take up to 4.5 hours to fully charge the speaker.

Turn on the unit by pressing and holding the Power button

( Ref.5

Refer to the power button indicator light ( Ref.5

) for the battery life of the Hobson speaker:

Recharging

A power cable is not supplied with the unit. Please only use the Amazon Echo Dot’s (1st or 2nd Generation) micro-USB 9W adapter power cable to charge and/or power the Hobson Free tower speaker.

For guidance on how to charge the unit, please refer to page 4.

Battery Life

It can take up to 4.5 hours to fully charge the tower speaker for portability. When the Hobson tower speaker is fully charged and switched on, the power indicator light ( Ref.5

) will be static green with no flashing.

The battery life for portability is approximately 6 hours if in continual use with the Echo Dot function.

The rechargeable battery can supply up to 20 hours of portability if the Echo Dot is removed, and a device is plugged in via the AUX-In port ( Ref.6

Connecting your Echo Dot

1. Unplug your Echo Dot from charge and place the Dot into the docking tray of the speaker tower ( Ref.1

). Ensure that the ports of the Echo Dot are both able to be accessed via the silicone cover compartment.

Pull back the rear silicone cover to view the ports of the Echo

Dot. Follow by plugging in the Hobson’s internal USB cable

( Ref.2

) and AUX cable ( Ref.3

) into the Echo Dot’s USB and AUX port.

3. If the tower speaker has been fully charged, the unit will now be ready to take on the go.

4. Please ensure that the Echo Dot has been set up according to

Amazon guidance.

Removing the Echo Dot from the tower

Before removing the Echo Dot from the speaker, it is advised that the tower speaker is removed from charge and with the power off.

2. To remove the Echo Dot from the power speaker, open the silicone cover ( Ref.4

Remove the USB cable ( Ref.2

) and AUX cable ( Ref.3

) from the

Echo Dot ports.

Via the compartment, push the Echo Dot up from the docking tray to remove from the unit.

AUX Connections: Play from or to other devices

AUX-In

To begin playing audio from an alternative device such as a phone, you can connect it to the Hobson tower speaker via the

AUX-In port ( Ref.6

Simply plug an 3.5mm AUX cable into your device and connect to the Hobson tower speaker. Begin playing music from your device.

Control the Play/Pause, Next/Previous and the volume via your connected device.

AUX-Out

To connect a sound speaker or sound system to the Hobson tower speaker, plug a 3.5mm AUX cable via the AUX-Out port

( Ref.7

). Connect the AUX cable from the Hobson tower to your external speaker system.

Troubleshooting

If the speaker tower does not work properly as desired, please use the following checklist:

Den Hobson-Lautsprecher laden

1. Um den Tower-Lautsprecher tragbar zu machen, müssen Sie das Gerät zunächst aufladen. Nehmen Sie dazu den Echo-Dot (1. oder 2. Generation) ab und entfernen Sie das Netzkabel.

Verwenden Sie nun das Stromkabel des Echo-Dots, um den

Hobson-Lautsprecher aufzuladen. Schließen Sie es an den

Charger le haut-parleur Hobson

Connecter votre Echo Dot

1. Débranchez votre Echo Dot (1er ou 2ème génération) de la charge et placez le Dot dans le plateau d’accueil du haut-parleur de tour ( Ref.1

). Assurez-vous que les ports de l’Echo Dot sont tous les deux accessibles via le compartiment de la housse en silicone.

AUX-In

Basta collegare un cavo AUX da 3,5 mm al dispositivo e connettarlo all’altoparlante torre Hobson. Inizia a riprodurre musica dal suo dispositivo.

Controlla Play/Pausa, Prossimo/Precedente ed il Volume tramite il dispositivo collegato.

Cargando el Altavoz Hobson
