Frequently asked questions

Follow these steps to start the engine: Ensure fuel and oil levels are sufficient, set the air control lever to closed, open the throttle slightly, and depress the plunger on the carburetter. Then, raise the valve lifter lever, turn the engine over several times, and give it a long swinging kick with the valve closed.

Use a high-quality oil, such as Mobiloil D, Castrol Grand Prix, Energol 50, or Essolube 50 in the summer and Mobiloil A, Castrol XL, Energol 30, or Essolube 30 in the winter.

It is recommended to change the engine oil and clean the oil filters every 1,000 miles or every three months if the machine is only used for short runs.

The oil feed adjustment is made by a needle-pointed screw located on the right side of the cylinder head. The approximate correct setting is one-sixth of a complete turn from the fully closed position.
