Never place the appliance in humid or wet environment. Place the appliance in a way making the connections easily accessible, so that they may be quickly disconnected if such a need arises. The appliance should be placed on surfaces that are: – even, with sufficient bearing capacity, resistant to water, dry and resistant to high temperatures; – sufficiently large, and thus enabling usage of the appliance with no problems; – easily accessible; – well ventilated. • Maintain sufficient clearance from table edges. The appliance might turn over and fall down. • To provide for safe operation of the appliance, keep clearance of 3 cm from both sides, 30 cm at the front and back, as well as 30 cm over the appliance (e.g. from the bottom of a shelf or ceiling). 100273 11 / 18 EN Installation and operation Power supply connection • • • • Verify if technical data of the appliance (see rating plate) correspond with the local electric power grid specification. Connect the appliance to a single, properly grounded mains socket with protective contact. Do not connect the appliance to a multi-socket. The power cord should be laid in a way preventing anyone from threading on it or tripping against it. Do not use the appliance with an external timer or remote control. 5.2 Operation Important Tips for Optimal Toasting Result • • EN • • • • With the same setting, the toasting effect depends on products' various properties (humidity, type of bread, size and thickness of bread slices or bun/bagel halves). When toasting dry or smaller and thinner bread slices, set higher speed of the conveyor belt. When toasting products of high humidity, e.g. rye bread or wholemeal bread, reduce the speed of conveyor belt. The slice cut surface should be as smooth as possible in order to achieve a uniform toasting result. Remove loose crumbs or protruding bread components, e.g. grains, before toasting because they can burn. Take into account that during several operations one after another the toaster becomes hotter and the toasted slices become darker accordingly. If necessary, select lower speed of conveyor belt for subsequent toasting processes. 12 / 18 100273 Installation and operation Before the First Use 1. Before use, clean the appliance, observing instructions in section “Cleaning”. 2. Dry the washed elements afterwards. 3. Reinsert the toast feeder and the discharge tray in the appliance. 4. Slide the crumb drawer entirely in the right slot under the toast feeder. ATTENTION! Using the appliance without the crumb drawer may lead to the damage of the appliance or to soiling. Always use the appliance with the correctly inserted crumb drawer. 5. Plug the appliance into a suitable single socket. Control Panel EN 1. 3. 5. 7. The appliance becomes hot during operation! Hot external surface! Do not touch any hot surfaces nor insert your hands into the conveyor toaster. Right after switching off, the appliance remains hot. You can move or transport the appliance only when it has cooled down completely. 1. Switch the appliance on with the ON/OFF switch located at the left of the rear panel of the appliance. The green indicator light integrated with the ON/OFF switch will come on. The green operation mode indicator light will also come on, signalling that the appliance is operation ready. The conveyor toaster needs approx. 5 minutes to heat up. EN 2. Depending on the selected product (toast bread, sandwich toasts, bun or bagel halves), rotate the function selector knob clockwise and select one of the functions. The following temperature settings are available: – Bottom heater – Top heater – Top/bottom heater When the function selector knob is set in one of the setting positions, the red heating-up indicator light will come on. When the function selector knob is rotated to OFF position or when the appliance is switched off with the ON/OFF switch, the red heating-up indicator light will go off. 3. Use the right controller to set the required conveyor belt speed. The conveyor belt speed may be set steplessly in the range of 1–7. The slowest conveyor belt speed equals a longer toasting time, and the fastest conveyor belt speed equals the shortest toasting time or the smaller browning level of toast slices or other products. 14 / 18 100273 Cleaning 4. When the heating-up time is over, the selected product (toast bread, sandwich toasts, bun/bagel halves) should be moved onto the toast feeder. The selected product moves on the conveyor belt via the heating chamber. The ready toast reaches the discharge tray and slides forward to the place it may me taken from. 5. Remove the ready product with the use of suitable tongs. 6 Cleaning 6.1 • • • • • Safety Instructions for Cleaning EN Before cleaning, disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
