1.2. System configuration

Euro-2000T Alpha/1000T is designed as a portable electronic cash register. The main advantages are low weight, small dimensions and long lasting powering without an external adaptor thanks to the high capacity of the internal accumulator.

The core of Euro-2000T Alpha/1000T is 16-bit microcontroller E-2000N, with 11 I/O ports and two serial channels. The program is stored in 256kB EPROM. According to the EPROM software, the microcontroller supports 128kB or 512kB SRAM.

System consists of:

2. Circuits descriptions

2.1. Power supply circuits.

2.1.1. External power source - AC/DC adaptor.

External power source - AC/DC adaptor MW1212GS 230V, 50-60 Hz/12V, 1200mA.

Functions of the adaptor:

• powering the ECR directly from a 230V/50 Hz outlet

• charging of the internal lead acid accumulator

• for charging of the external “battery box” - optional

If the external power supply is connected to the ECR, the internal lead acid accumulator is charging even if the ECR is turned off.

2.1.2. Primary power circuit.

The primary power circuit converts the input DC voltage of AC/DC adaptor (or battery box, car or bus light connector) to stabilized DC voltage of 7,4V. The core of this circuit is MC33167T (5A) DC/DC convertor which has the following features.

• built-in current fuse (6,5A), built-in thermal fuse

• switching frequency of 72 kHz allows to use a small external components, high withstanding against outlet interference

• convert effeciency more than 80%, low heat losses

2.1.3. Voltage regulator.

The Voltage regulator circuit turns the ECR on and off. It provides a constant voltage Vcc. Turning the ECR off and on is performed by a three-pole switch SW-POWER connected to CNN3.

The NiCd (NiMH) back-up accumulator BT1 provides power for a real time clock circuit and a SRAM. BT1 is charged by VRAM=5

- 5,3V through R21 resistor. If Vpr=0V, BT1 powers the real time clock circuit and the SRAM through diode D6.

Pulling out the JP1 jumper may cause deleting of all data stored in SRAM and the real time clock circuit when the cash register is turning off.

2.1.4. Printer power circuit.

The printer power circuit regulates the power source for the printer power circuits. This source is also the input power for the secondary power source.

The correct power-on and power-off of voltage for the printrer power circuits also affects the lifetime of the printer. Delayed power-on is provided by signal RST, that switches transistor T16 through resistor R38. The fast power off of the printer power circuits is provided by resistor R8 and transistor T15, so that the discharging current flow through is limited by resistor R57.

To speed up the printing, the output voltage depends on the status of external adaptor. If the external adaptor is connected, the output voltage is 6,5V, otherwise the value is 6V (from internal lead acid accumulator). This function is provided by transistor T17, on which the voltage from the primary power circuit is based.

2.1.5. Secondary power circuit.

The secondary power circuit provides:

• drawer voltage

• main voltage for fiscal memory

The secondary power circuit is a step-up DC/DC converter with a switching frequency of 33 kHz and a convert efficiency of more than 87%. This circuit has both a current (1,35A) and a thermal fuse. The input voltage of the secondary power circuit is

VH voltage. The output voltage is (VDR) 15V.

2.2.1. Microcontroller E-2000N.

A 16-bit microcontroller E-2000N is used in Euro-2000T Alpha/1000T. The microcontroller provides full control of the ECR.

The microcontrollers main features are:

• 2kB RAM on chip

• 11 I/O ports

• program addressable space max. 16MB

• data memory addressable space max. 16MB

• five 16-bit counters/timers

• seven external interrupts

• two full duplex USART (serial channels)

• 10-bit A/D convertor, 8 channels

• 8-bit D/A convertor, 2 channels

• watchdog timer

• frequency up to 18MHz

• oscillator and timer circuits on chip

• package QFP 100

2.2.2. Memory circuits.

ECR memory is divided in two parts:

• program memory

• data memory

The program is stored at EPROM 256kB. Data are stored at SRAM 128kB. Program memory is activated by signal CS0, data memory by signal CS1.

ECR Euro-2000T Alpha / 1000T uses SRAM with low power consumption that allows it to substantially increase the total backup time of memory by the NiCd accumulator. It is recommended to use just the original RAM types, otherwise it could cause a higher bus interference, and it may shorten the time of the data memory back-up.

2.2.3. Reset system.

The starting and switching off of the system are very important for its proper functioning. The reset system provides the proper initialization of the system during starting, prevents memory loss and keeps the system safe during switching off.

Microcontroller E-2000N is powered from a NiCD back-up battery during the ECR is off. The power voltage is VRAM (current consumption 500nA). The reset system is controlled by the signals Reset and STBY(stand-by mode). These signals are driven by reset and stand-by controllers.

The reset controller provides:

• reliable initialization of microcontroller during switching on of the ECR

• signal reset during switching off of the ECR

The reset signal is active at 0. Time delay is about 150ms.

The threshold voltage of the reset controller V6309 is 4,5 V.

The standby controller provides:

• reliable initialization of the microcontroller from the stand-by mode during the starting the system

• a signal which activates STBY to ensure the stand-by mode of E-2000N if VCC drops to the threshold voltage of the stand-by controller

STBY signal is active at 0.

The threshold voltage of V6340/F is 4,5V. If the power voltage is lower than 4,5 V, V6340/F activates the stand-by mode of CPU.

To keep the actual date and time when the ECR is off, V3021 is powered from the back-up accumulator NiCd. The back-up voltage has to be 2,5 V at minimum. The stand-by current consumption is 500 nA at maximum.

2.3.2. Keyboard.

a.) Euro-2000T Alpha keyboard.

Euro-2000T Alpha consists of 36 simple and 3 double keytops. It is divided into six rows and seven columns. Key scanning is performed by the decoding of DG0-DG3 (74HC42) and by the scanning the returning signals ROW1-ROW6. 74HC42 output signals 0 - 6 are used for keyboard columns, signal 7 is used to generate a signal for key lock position scanning and for the input voltage value checking. The recognition of a pressed key and a key lock position is performed by scanning the returning lines

ROW1-ROW6.

The keys of keyboard are mechanical switch modules. The lifetime of the keyswitch module is 50 million pressings in the case of keeping the keyboard clean (MCBF-10 9 ).

There is a double size mechanism under the double keytop. This mechanism provides a comfortable key travel by presing on any place of the keytop.

It is recommended to use a cover in a dusty and wet environment.

b.) Euro-1000T keyboard.

Euro-1000T keyboard is a silicone rubber keypad consisting of 36 simple and 3 double keytops. It is divided into six rows and seven columns. Key scanning is performed by the decoding of DG0-DG3 (74HC42) and by scanning the returning signals ROW1-

ROW6. 74HC42 output signals 0 - 6 are used for keyboard columns. The recognition of a pressed key is performed by scanning the returning lines ROW1-ROW6.

There is a description printed on keytops. The printing lifetime is tested according to the Japanese standard JIS Z 0236, which ensures the lifetime of 200,000 pressings at minimum. The contacts are made of conductive rubber. The lifetime of contacts is

500,000 pressings at minimum.

2.3.3. Displays.

Euro-2000T Alpha has two display units. The first for a operator, the second for a customer.

The displays are controlled by the microcontoller C-D2000Alpha. The data from the main microcontroller are sent to C-D2000Alpha through the serial line, which is driven by the signals SEL, CLK and DATA. This companion processor is located on the PCB under the Alpha-numerical display module. The control signals are connected through the connector CNN14 from the keyboard PCB.

For the display control signals description see the part 2.2.1. in table 2.1.

The operator display is 20 characters, two lines LCD with LED backlight.

The LED backlight switching off and on is controlled from the keyboard (in ,,X” mode by pressing the key [x/time]). If the LED backlight is on, the backlight is automatically switching off if no key is pressed within 15 seconds. Pressing the key switches the backlight on again. The maximal current consumption for Alpha-numerical display backlight is 150mA. The maximal current consumption for segment display backlight is 250mA.

Euro-1000T has both customer and operator displays. Both displays are of identical construction, liquid crystal type. 96 segments are controlled by the display driver NJU 6432BF (duplex drive).

NJU 6432BF is capable of driving 104 segments. LCDs are parallel-connected through the connector CNN14 from the keyboard

PCB. For the control signal description refer to 2.2.1.

Optional LCD backlights D1 can be installed upon request. LED backlights are driven by the LCD driver NJU 6432BF (SEG49,SEG50).

Switching the backlights off and on is controlled from the keyboard (in ,,X” mode press the key [x/time]). The maximum power consumption of one backlight is 250mA.

Microcontroller C-D2000Alpha.

Euro-2000T Alpha uses 8-bit microcontroller C-D2000Alpha. Microcontroller provides the full control of LCD displays.

Its main features are:

• high density CMOS

• 64 byte RAM

• 3 I/O ports

• two 16-bit counters/timers

• two external interrupts

• frequency up to 18 MHz

• oscillator and timing circuit on chip

• PLCC 28 package

The Euro-2000T Alpha control lock has six positions - modes:

L - lock mode; the ECR is powered, but the keyboard is inactive

R - registration mode

X - X reports

Z - Z reports

P - programming mode

T - training mode

The cash register mode is defined by the signal generated by the output 7 of IC 74HC42, which is located on the keyboard PCB, and by scanning signals ROW1-ROW6. The control lock is powered through CNN13 connector from the keyboard PCB.

2.3.5. Communication circuits a.) Euro-2000T Alpha communication circuits

The Euro-2000T Alpha is equipped with the communication circuits for PC connection, scanner and electronic scales connection and external PC keyboard connection standardly.

The PC communication can be choosen either from serial interface RS232C or serial interface RS485. The jumper JP4 determines the choice of the serial interface. The JP4 jumper determines which serial interface is connected to the input of serial data to the microcontroller. The default setting is interface RS232C. The main communication parameter is the correct setting of the cash register number (see program manual - flags programming). The communication between PC and ECR can be executed in any cash register mode in the case that no other operation is executing parallely (e.g. unfinished sale).

To achieve the correct communication to PC and scanner, it is necessary to set the same communication parameters on both sides. Euro-2000T Alpha allows you to set these parameters in the program mode (see program manual - flags programming).

The communication parameters for PC and scanner communication are defined as the following:

b.) Euro-1000T communication circuits

The cash register Euro-1000T is able to communicate with a PC through external communication module CM-1000 only. Any PC

AT keyboard can be connected to the Euro-1000T through the same connector.

The cash register Euro-1000T has to be ready for the communication with a PC by pressing the key

2.3.6. FM circuit connection

The FM reliably stores particular sales data. FM programming, checking and reading is supported by memory power voltage

(VFD: 5V-reading; 6,25V-programming and checking), programming voltage (VFP=12,75V) and control signals (FM-AL, FM-AH,

FM-SEL, FM-DIR, FM-PGM). Signal description, refer to 2.1.1.

2.3.7. Other circuits a.) Lead acid battery voltage checking circuit.

The power supply voltage VB is being measured through the ZD1, R58, R28 resistors and T9 transistor. The transistor output is evaluated by the microcontroller E-2000N by IC U4. If the VB is higher than 5,7 V then the T9 transistor is opened, otherwise the transistor is closed and the microcontroller calls attention to the ”LOWBAT” state by a beep and by showing ”LOWBAT” on the display.

The paper end sensor senses the presence of paper entering the printer (receipt). The transmissive optical sensor with phototransistor output scans the slot. 3.2. Thermal head.

3.2.1. Thermal head constitution.

As shown in the fig. 3-1, the thermal head comprises heating elements and head drivers to control and drive the heating elements. The serial print data which are input from DATA IN (DI) are transferred in synchronization with the CLOCK (CP) to the shift register, and stored in the latch register by the LATCH (LA) signal. Head activating signals (print commands STB 1 to6) turn the gates on, and the heating elements corresponding to the stored data are activated.

The thermal head has 6 strobes, and printing in up to 6 cycles is possible. The relation between strobes and position of heating elements is shown in the table below. The printing is divided into 6 cycles if external AC/DC adaptor is not connected otherwise the printing is divided into three cycles (two strobes are activated at the same time).

3.4. Head-up sensor.

This unit is provided with a head-up sensor to detect the up / down condition of the head. Activation of the head under the headup condition can break or affect adversely the life of the head. The outside circuit is designed so that the thermal head can not be activated under the head-up condition.

3.8. How to clean the thermal head.

1] Pull up the head-up lever.

2] Remove the platen push lever on both sides from the hook on the frame, then rotate in 90 degrees to the up-side.

3] Lift up the platen roller unit holding both platen push levers with care to the up-side, remove the platen roller unit from the frame.

4] Wipe softly with a cotton swab soaked into menthanol, IPA, etc. to remove dust stuck on the heating element.

5] After clearing the thermal head, assemble the platen roller unit in the reverse procedure, and lock the platen roller unit completely

pulling down the platen push lever to 90 degrees.

Caution

1] Absolutely never carry out the cleaning using sand paper or a cutter knife which may cause damage to the heating element.

2] Carry out printing after alcohol has been vaporized completely.

3] Make sure to carry out head cleaning after turning the power OFF.

4] Do not bend the platen bush lever excessively. Stop bending the platen bush lever immediately after platen lever is removed from

the hook of frame. Excessive bending may cause beakage.

4. Installation of modules.

Before installing modules and options.

If you install any module or option in the Euro register already in use, you must have a reset performed by its user before performing the installation. If the register is not reset, sales data stored in the register may be destroyed due to possible incorrect installation.

Before installing we recommend that you print out Z reports, setting of the register, resp. save all data by

EuroSoft down load functions, if it is possible.

Before installing make sure the external adaptor is unplugged and ECR is turned off by switch OST 005.

4.1. Removing and installing the top cabinet

1) Remove the eight screws situated on the bottom cover and then remove the printer cover.

2) Remove the top cabinet.

3) Release keyboard connector.

Note 1: Before removing and installing make sure the external adaptor is unplugged and ECR is turned off .

4) Replace the top cabinet in the reverse order of removing.

During replacement of the cabinet take care to prevent any cables from being caught between the top and bottom cabinets. Furthermore, prior to screwing the top cabinet back on make sure you use the original screws. The interchange of screws may cause a damage of cabinets.

4.2. Lead acid accumulator replacement.

1) Remove the top cabinet. (See 4.1)

2) Remove the accumulator holder screwed to bottom cabinet. (See figure below)

3) Make sure the external adaptor is unplugged.

4) Disconnect the old accumulator from connector BATTERY.

5) Put the new accumulator in place. (See figure below)

6) Connect the accumulator connectors - red wire (+) to the red connector, black one (-) to the black connector of accumulator.

7) Fasten the accumulator holder. Make sure you can not move the accumulator.

8) Replace the top cabinet.

4.3. Printer replacement

Note: Make sure the external adaptor is unplugged and ECR is turned off.

1) Remove the top cabinet. (see 4.1).

2) Disconnect the printer connectors from mainboard.

3) Loosen four printer screws (see figure below).

4) Disconnect FFC cable from printer mechanism.

5) If it is necessary, resolder lead wires according to figure.

6) Insert FFC cabel into printer connector. Be sure cable is connected well.

7) Fix the new printer in place by four screws.

8) Connect printer connectors to mainboard (PRINTER T1 and PRINTER T2).

9) Replace the top cabinet (see 4.1).

4.4. Winding motor replacement.

1) Be sure the ECR is off and the external adaptor is unplugged. Remove the top cabinet (see 4.1.).

2) Disconnect the winding motor connector from the mainboard.

3) Loosen two screws (see figure below).

3) Pull out the motor from the slots.

4) If it is necessary, resolder a motor connector - red wire to a + motor terminal.

5) Insert a new motor in the slots.

6) Fasten the screws to be able to move the motor up and down. Do not forget to use the fan risers.

7) Place a winding reel.

8) Moving the motor up and down find the position where the motor gum and winding reel have the sufficient contact. See figure below.

9) In the above mentioned position fasten the screws.

10)Replace the top cabinet (see 4.1).

Note: If the winding motor is fixed too low in the leading grooves, then the winding reel is not in the correct horizontal position and that causes the deformation of paper and paper shift to side of printer.

4.5. Mainboard replacement.

Note: Be sure the ECR is turned off and the external adaptor is unplugged. Mainboard contains static sensitive devices.

1) Remove the top cabinet (see 4.1.).

2) Release printer connector, keyboard connector etc.

3) Loosen four screws (see figure below).

4) Put a new mainboard in place.

4) Fasten four screws.

6) Connect all connectors to mainboard. (do not confuse the connectors otherwise the maiboard may be damaged).

7) Replace the top cabinet (see 4.1.).

8) Execute all electronic tests. (see chapter 6).

Note: If any test error has occured, first of all make sure all connectors contact well and there is no exchange of connectors.

4.6. EPROM replacement.

1) Turn off the ECR and unplug the external adaptor.

2) Remove the top cabinet (see 4.1.).

3) Pull the EPROM out from the socket carefully. Do not short cut or damage the EPROM pins during the pulling out. It may cause the sales data loss of.

4) Insert a new EPROM to the socket.

5) Replace the top cabinet (see 4.1.).

6) Execute all electronic tests.

Note: In the case of program version exchange it is necessary to clear SRAM by jumper JP1 (see 4.7.).

1) Turn off the ECR and unplug the adaptor.

2) Remove the top cabinet (see 4.1.).

3) Disconnect power from SRAM by pulling jumper JP1 out. Insert jumper to the position farther from the NiCd battery.

4) Pull out SRAM from the mainboard.

5) Solder a new SRAM to mainboard. Incorrect position may cause the SRAM damage.

6) Pull out jumper and insert it to the position closer to the NiCd battery.

7) In case that new memory is SRAM 512kB (only Euro - 2000 ALPHA), it is necessary to remove resistor R23 (10K) and solder resistor 0R to position R19.

8) Replace the top cabinet (see 4.1.).

9) Turn on the ECR.

10)The ECR initialisation will be automatically performed.

11) Execute all the electronic tests.

4.8. NiCd accumulator replacement.

Note: If you want to save a stored data in SRAM during the NiCd accumulator replacement, do not turn off the ECR.

Caution, replace the NiCd accumulator very warily.

1) Turn the ECR off by means of OST 005 switch. (the external adaptor can remain plugged in).

2) Remove the top cabinet (see 4.1.).

3) Release all connectors from mainboard except power, battery and switch power connector.

4) Release the mainboard (see 4.5.).

5) Turn the ECR on by switch OST 005.

6) Pull out the jumper JP1. Do not insert him to other position.

7) Replace the NiCd accumulator with a new one. Caution - solder the accumulator plus connector to BT1 + place.

8) Fasten the mainboard to the bottom cover.

9) Insert jumper JP1 to position closer to NiCd battery.

10) Switch off the ECR by OST 005 switch.

11) Plug all connectors into the mainboard.

12) Replace the top cabinet (see 4.1.).

13) Execute all electronic tests.

4.9.1. Euro-2000T Alpha keyboard replacement

Note: Be sure the ECR is turned off and the external adaptor is unplugged.

1) Remove the top cabinet (see 4.1.) and disconnect the keyboard connector.

2) Disconnect the display and the control lock connector from the keyboard PCB.

3) Loosen 14 fixation screws (see figure below).

4) Pull out the keyboard module.

5) Place a new keyboard module. Module has to be locked-on to the top cabinet.

6) Fasten the keyboard by screws. (14 pcs).

7) Connect the display and the control lock connector.

8) Connect the keyboard connector to the mainboard.

9) Replace the top cabinet (see 4.1).

10)Execute keyboard test. (chapter 6.)

2) Disconnect the display connector from keyboard PCB.

3) Loosen screws (see in figure below).

4) Pull out PCB and silicone rubber keypad.

5) Insert new keypad. The keypad has to be locked-on the top cabinet. Insert keyboard PCB.

6) Fasten the keyboard by screws. (14 pcs).

7) Connect the display connector.

4.10.1. Euro-2000T Alpha alpha-numerical and segment display module replacement.

Note: Be sure the ECR is turned off and the external adaptor is unplugged.

1) Remove the top cabinet (see 4.1.) and disconnect keyboard connector.

2) Loosen fixation screws of alpha-numerical and segment display (see figure below).

3) Disconnect the interconnecting cable from CNN2 on alpha-numerical display PCB.

4) Replace the LCD module.

5) Connect the interconnecting cable to CNN2 on alpha-numerical display PCB.

6) Fasten display modules by fixation screws to the top cabinet.

7) Connect the connector of alpha-numerical display module to keyboard.

8) Connect the keyboard connector.

9) Replace the top cabinet (see 4.1).

10) Execute the keyboard test. (chapter 6.)

The Cash Register Euro-2000T Alpha can be easily connected to a PC through the RS-232 interface.

The default setting of the ECR is RS-232 interface, so the brand new Cash machine is ready for the RS-232 interface. If the ECR was used in the network of RS-485 interface before, it is necessary to set the jumper JP4 on the mainbaord. Insert the JP4 into the position farther from the JP3. This will set the interface to RS-232.

RS-232 interface communication wires are connected to the PC D-SUB 9 according to the following figure.

Note 1: The Cash register Euro-2000T Alpha allows you to connect it to the network of ECRs by interface RS-485. You can interconnect 32 Cash registers at maximum for the maximal cable length of 1.200 m (using twisted pair).

To connect the ECR into the network by RS-485, you have to pull out the jumper JP4 and insert him into the position closer to JP3.

This is a change from RS-232 interface to RS-485.

Jumper JP3 connects the termination resistor, so if the ECR is the last in the network, short JP3.

RS-485 interface communication wires are connected to PC D-SUB9, pins 8 and 9, according to the following figure.

The convertor RS-232 / RS-485 has to be set to the control signal DTR.

5. LT-286 maintenance

This chapter explains the procedure for maintanance work and is intended for maintanence personnel in the field.

5.1. Handling and maintanence of printer

1) The use of paper other than our recommended paper may cause poorer quality of and duration. Be sure to use paper with a width within the specified range.

2) Do not give the surface of the head circuit board (heating elements) a mechanical shock.

3) In handling the printer, take anti-static measures and ground the human body to protect the heating elements, ICs, and other parts from damage due to static electricity.

4) Wipe off lightly any dirt stuck on the surface of the heating elements with a cotton swab soaked in ethanol or the like.

5) Activating a wet thermal head is likely to damage the head. If moisture is present on the head, dry it thoroughly before printing.

6) Feed paper in the head-up condition. Cut the forward end of paper straight. Do not insert paper with its forward end fluffed or bent. When the forward end of paper comes out of thermal head, confirm that the paper has been set straight before putting the head down.

7) Take paper out in the head-up condition. Take paper out slowly and straight in the direction in which paper comes out.

5.2. Thermal head procedure for disassembling and reassembling

Disasembling Printer body

For disassembling the printer, remove parts from the frame according to next procedure for reassembling, but in the opposite order.

Reassembling Printer body

1. Install the motor assembly in the frame. Fix the motor assembly to the frame by two fitting screws M2 x 3.

2. Install the head up sensor to the right side of the frame. Set the head up sensor in the direction, and fix it by the screw M1,7x6.

Check the leaf of the head up sensor for deformation.

3. Install the paper sensor on the bottom surface of the frame. Be careful not to break the cover of the lead wires install.

4. Fix the lead wires for the motor assembly with binder wires so the leads do not get loose.

5. Install the first reduction gear so that it may engage with the gear of the motor assembly.

6. Install the second reduction gear so that it engages with the first reduction gear. Be careful about the direction so the larger gear comes to the upper side.

7. Apply Mori-coat EM-10L to the two gear pivots in which gears have been installed.

8. Fix the grip ring to the stepped portion on the tip of the pivot for the second reduction gear fully to the root of the step using pliers exclusively for grip rings. The openess of the grip ring in insertion should not be much more than the outside diameter of the gear pivot. Too much openess decreases the spring force reducing the securing force of the grip ring.

9. Put the lever holder in the frame. Be careful about the direction, inserting the lever holder so that the arc-shaped part comes to the paper insertion inlet side.

10. Apply Mori-coat EM-10L to the arc-shaped portion of the lever holder and the arc-shaped portions of the five frame ribs.

11. Insert the head-up lever from the right side of the frame. Insert the lever so that the sectional form of the shaft of the head-up lever and that of the hole on the frame agree.

12. Install the thermal head assembly into the bottom side of the frame. First insert it into the hole on the side on which the motor is fitted. In inserting the assembly, be careful not to damage the earthing spring fitted on the right side of the frame. Do not toch the print surface of the head with bare hands. After the head is installed, keep the head-up lever in the up condition all the time except during printing so that the platen does not touch the head.

13. Inserting the projection at the center of the head SP to the groove at the center of the thermal head assembly from the bottom side of the frame, insert the head SP onto the two shafts of the frame.

14. Fix the head SP by a fitting screw (M4x8). Fasten the fitting screw carefully since the screw, for which a tapping screw is used, is likely to be fastened diagonally.

15. Put the platen roller unit in the frame. Push the lever of the platen bushing down 90 degrees in order to hang it on the claw of the frame. This step is the last step in reassembling the printer body.

FM writing test allows you to check the possibility to write data into FM. Bytes “AA” and “55” are written by the test execution into FM testing sector. The first writing of byte “AA” is located to address 1FE00 and byte “55” to address 1FE40. The next execution of this test writes data to the next higher address. Up to 64 tests can be executed.

7. Troubleshooting

Many problems which might occur with the Euro-2000T Alpha / 1000T are indicated on input and output devices such as keyboard, displays and printer. This makes it possible to find a source of the problems and to give methods for solving them. The chapter is divided into eight basic parts:
