8 <CLASS 1 LASER
PRODUCT”
This label on the rear panel states that:
1. This unit is a CLASS 1 LASER PRODUCT and employs a
laser inside the cabinet.
2. To prevent the laser from being exposed, do not remove
the cover. Refer servicing to qualified personnel.
Please remove the power plug from the socket when you are not
going to use the player for a long time.
Ensure that all wires and the power supply are properly con-
nected before turning the Power on.
The player uses the switching power supply. The range of the
power supply: AC 110V-240V 50/60Hz.
Before turning on the power of the player, please adjust the vol-
ume level knob of audio system speakers and amplifiers to min-
imum. Adjust the volume as necessary only after starting normal
playback to avoid damage to your amplifiers or speakers.
Do not put your player near any high power speaker or put both
on a same deck so as to avoid any influence on its normal oper-
ation due to vibration.
Please put the player at a dry and ventilated area. Do not put it
near heat source, or expose it to direct sunlight, mechanical
vibration, humidity or dust-rich environment, and also do not put
it over heat releasing substances.
- When moving the player from a cold place to a warm one, or vice
versa, the laser head may have condensation. Then the player
will not work properly. In such a case, please turn the power on
for 1-2 hours (without disc) before playing.
- Itis allowed to use a small amount of neutral detergent to clean
the player. Never use sandpaper or organic solvent such as
alcohol or gasoline, etc. for cleaning.

HANDLING DISCS
* Do not touch the playback side of the disc.
- Fingerprints and dust on the disc cause picture and sound
deterioration. Wipe the disc from the center outwards with a
soft cloth. Always keep the disc clean.
* If you cannot wipe off the dust with a soft cloth, wipe the disc
lightly with a slightly moistened soft cloth and finish with a dry
cloth.
- Do not use any type of solvent such as thinner, benzine, com-
mercially available cleaners or antistatic spray for vinyt LPs . It
may damage the disc.
Do not store discs in a place subject to direct sunlight or near
heat sources.
Do not store discs in places subject to moisture and dust such
as a bathroom or near a humidifier.
Store discs vertically in a case. Stacking or placing objects on
discs outside of their case may cause warping.

tor compatible with this type of connection. Both audio (2
channel stereo) and video (Video, S-video, and Y, Cb, Cr
or Y, Pb, Pr) signals are output from the SCART OUT-

Battery installation
1. Remove the battery compartment cover.
2. Insert batteries
Make sure that the polarities of the batteries match those
marked inside the battery compartment.
USING THE REMOTE CONTROL
When using the remote control, the front window of the remote
control should be pointed to the infrared sensor on the front panel
within an angle of +-30 and a range of 8 meters.

* Never drop the remote control or expose it to moisture.
- Never expose the infrared remote sensor on the front panel to
direct sunlight or strong beams.
+ When the batteries become low, replace them in time. Do not
mix new and old batteries when replacing and try to avoid u=it..,
rechargeable batteries. To avoid corrosion, remove the batteries
if the remote controller is not to be used for a long time.
Caution:
Make sure that the player and other equipments are unplugged
before connecting.
CONNECT TO TV
Y, Cb, Cr outputs function on the player is applicable if compo-
nent video inputs are available on your TV set. Please do NOT
use SCART output if you choose to use Y, Cb, Cr outputs.
Y, Pb, Pr progressive-scan outputs function on the player is
applicable if progressive-scan video inputs are available on your
TV set. Please set the "YUV VIDEO" to be "YUV" in the setup
menu and press the P.SCAN button on remote control. Please do
NOT use SCART output if you choose to use Y, Pb, Pr outputs.
SCART output function on the player is applicable it SCART
input is available on your TV set. Please do NOT use Y, Pb,Pr
outputs if you choose to use SCART output. Please set ihe "YUV
VIDEO" to be "SCART" in the setup menu.
If the "Audio Out" of the player is connected to a TV set , please
make sure that the "L","R" output jacks of the "Mixed Audio” on
the player are connected to the correct " Audio In" jacks on the
TV set.
When playing disc with Y,Pb,Pr outputs, it is suggested to set the
TV system to be NTSC.
Built-in Dolby Digital decoder and DTS digital surround decoder
make it possible to play discs coded with Dolby/DTS digital sur-
round technology. If the DVD player is connected to AV amplifi-
er with 5.1 CH output function, play the discs which is coded with
Dolby/DTS digital surround, you may enjoy the same audio and
video impressions as that in the theater when you are at home.
Set the corresponding Channel of any connected speaker not in
use as “OFF”.
Distance between the surround speakers and the listener should
not be shorter than that between the front speakers and the lis-
tener.

* Turn on the TV, select “VIDEO INPUT”

BASIC PLAYBACK
1. Press POWER” Switch on the front panel to turn the unit on.
2. Press “OPEN/CLOSE” key to open the tray.
3. Place a disc in the tray, and press "OPEN/CLOSE" again to
close the tray.
4. Press “PLAY” to start playing.
+ Press "PLAY" after the tray closed to start playing.
* When TV display menu, which indicate a DVD or VCD con-
tains with playback control menu will be displayed on screen,
follow step 5 to start playing.
5. Use “CURSOR” keys on remote control, and press “ENTER” or
digits to select a program.
* №15 invalid when apply to VCD options, it will start playing the
selected program.
RETURN TO MENU
* When playing DVD, press “MENU” to return from playing to
menu.(the display will be different by the type of disc).
* When playing VCD, press “STOP” to return back to menu.
(effective only in PBC ON).

PRESS “STOP”
* Press “STOP” when playing, the player will set a break point,
when press “PLAY” again, the player will play from the break
point.(only DVD discs possess this function).
RESUME
PRESS "RESUME"
. Press "STOP" when playing CD disc,the player will set a break
point,when press"RESUME"again, the player will play from the
break point.
SKIP
PREV / NEXT
. Each press of PREV key during playing will skip a song back-
ward.
. Each press of NEXT key during playing will skip the current song
and play the next one.
F.REV / F.FWD
. The first four pressing of F.REV key or F.FWD during playing will
enter different fast or slow modes, the fifth press will return to
normal playing.
PAUSE
. Press PAUSE key during playing will pause the unit, the second
press will return to normal playing.
* Press "SETUP" on remote control, setup menu will be displayed
on the screen as shown below. (If the unit is under playback
mode, it will automatically set to memorized pause, press
"SETUP" will continue playing.) Press "ENTER" to enter setup
mode, use cursors to select, then press "ENTER" to confirm.
The unit will save your setup.

This function can set the menu display on or off, when you
playing the MP3 discs.
SPECIAL FUNCTION PLAYBACK
OSD
Pressing OSD four times will cycle between title elapsed title
remain, chapter elapsed, chapter remain. Pressing a fifth time will
cancel the OSD. When playing VCD, pressing OSD will show chap-
ter single elapsed, chapter single Remain, chapters title
elapsed,chapters title remain and off (PBC off). When PBC on, will
show chapter single elapsed, Chapter single remain and off.
PSCAN
Press the key will switch among PyPbPr and YUV.
SUBTITLE
Press "SUBTITLE" five times, the screen will display SUBTITLE
01/04, SUBTITLE 02/04, SUBTITLE 03/04, SUBTITLE 04/04,
SUBTITLE CANCEL. This function can select up to 32 languages
displayed on screen (valid in discs possessing this function, some
discs possess 2 subtitle languages, some 3, some more)
VIDEO/Y
This can set VIDEO output to “RGB”, "YUV” or "CVBS".
ANGLE
When enjoying sports, concert or theater, press this key to watch
same actions in different angles. (Valid in discs possessing this
function, some discs are recorded in multi-angle, and you can
enjoy in different angle, for example, front, side, whole view and
exterior scene).
LANGUAGE
When playing DVD disc, press this key to switch among
voice1/2:AC-3 5.1 channel English, voice 2/2:AC-3 5.1 channel
English (when playing DTS DVD disc L/R audio output will not work).
TITLE
According to some DVD discs, press this key will display title menu,
you can use digits to select tracks preferred(invalid in playing
VCD).
MENU
Press this key to display root menu, select tracks according to your
preference.(this key is valid to DVD disc possessing multi-layer
menu. You can select according to your preference).
CURSOR
Use in making options when playing different discs. Cursors in four
directions enable a convenient operation for users to make options
in operating interface, menu and disc operation. Likewise, the
image can be moved when it is zoom large 4 times.
SEARCH
Press "SEARCH" and input your desired time of a certain section,
then press "ENTER" to start playing from the input time. The input
cannot exceed the actual maximum time of a disc or charter.
PBC
For VCD,Under PBC ON, you should return back to main menu to
use digits to select tracks, under PBC OFF, you can select tracks
by pressing digits during playing,For DVD,Under PBC ON, it's
stop,Under PBC OFF, You can select tracks.
A-B
Press "A-B" to begin start-point, press again to set an end point
and complete setting. The selected section A-B will be repeated.
The third press will cancel this function.
REPEAT
Press "REPEAT" and Chapter Repeat will be displayed on screen,
the second press will display TITLE REPEAT, the third press will
cancel the repeat function .(When playing VCD disc, under PBC
OFF, press this key will sequentially display "REP-ONE", "REP-
ALL" and "REPEAT-OFF", under "PBC ON", "REPEAT OFE" will be
displayed and the function will not work.)
AUDIO
Press"AUDIO" on remote duing playing DVD disc,audio1 audio?
will be displayed or screen(when playing VCD disc, LEFT, RIGAT,
STEREO will be displayed.)
MP3 NAVIGATION MENU OPERATION
When Navigation Menu is set up, a Navigation Menu will be dis-
played automatically if loading MP3 disc.
In the Menu, use Left or Right button in the Cursors to select oper-
ation position, use Up or Down button in the Cursors to choose
operation object, use ENTER button to select operation object
item.
In the page, use Left or Right button in the Cursors to move the
“cursor to the playing mode option; use Up or Down button in the
Cursors to choose playing mode, then when chosen, more off the
cursor by using Left or Right key to move the "cursor" off to select
the item.
In the page, digit button is useful only to the at right side menu.
NOTE: Menu Interface may be different formats as per to MP3 disc.
NOTE:
This unit controlled by CPU, under setting mode, there may be
screen save, press any key on remote
control or on front panel to activate the unit.
NOTICE: Since this unit controlled by CPU, all illegal operation is
prohibited, one should operate as per this manual.

Troubleshooting
- Please check for causes of problems in accordance with the following chart before contact any main-
tenance personnel.
In order to prolong the service life of your player, it is recommended to wait € at least 30 seconds before you
turn it on again after switch it off. RELATA

Only use the power supply of the nominal voltage, otherwise the player w will not be operationa or even be

* Some functions of the player may not be applicable to some discs.
- In case of occasional player halt, please turn it off and turn it on again.
