Safety Statements
All safety instructions below must be read, understood, and carefully followed under all applicable circumstances when working with any Savant equipment.
1. Follow all input power ratings marked on product near power input!
2. If fuse replacement is required, replacement fuse should match fuse rating marked on the product.
3. Do not use equipment near water.
4. Clean only with dry cloth.
5. Do not block any ventilation openings or install near any heat sources such as heat registers, stoves, radiators, amplifiers, etc.
6. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when any part of the apparatus has been damaged in any way, or fails to operate normally for any reason.
7. Use only attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer, following all relevant safety precautions for any such attachments/accessories.
8. For applicable equipment, use the included power cord with the grounding prong intact to insure proper grounding of the device.
9. If the provided plug does not fit the desired outlet, contact a licensed electrician to replace the obsolete outlet.
10. Protect any power cord from being walked on, pinched, strained, or otherwise potentially damaged, especially at the outlet or device connections.
11. Disconnect any outlet powered apparatus from its power source during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
12. To completely disconnect equipment from AC mains power, disconnect the power supply cord plug from the AC receptacle on the device.
13. For any hardwired or fixed in-wall apparatus, carefully follow all wiring diagrams and instructions. All electrical wiring and servicing should be performed by a properly licensed electrician.

Savant Power® Panel Deployment Guide
6. Power Source Requirements
The Savant Power System can be integrated with an automatic generator or battery storage system for a complete energy management experience. This
Deployment Guide includes instructions on how to set up your energy solution for integration either power source, but not both. Review the following notes on specifications.
Generator Physical Requirements
– IMPORTANT!: All Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) must have Auxiliary Position-Indicating Contacts to connect to the Savant Power
Hosts GPIO terminals.
– Auxiliary Position-Indicating Contacts come standard on all commonly sold Generac Model residential ATS.
– Kohler residential ATS models RXT and RDT (600A and 400A) can be purchased as an accessory for Kohler model ATS under 600A. They can also be purchased as an accessory for ASCO ATS, and most other brands.
– When configuring an Savant Power System to work with a generator, the system needs to map the GPIO input to the ATS position. The ATS position can either be set to the Utility Grid or the Emergency Backup source. Please review the generator-specific ATS Operation & Installation manual for information on the auxiliary contact position.
Generator ATS Mapping
– The ATS position mapping is inputted using the Grid Available when ATS GPIO is Low checkbox within Tools > Energy Manager . For more information, see Section 15.3 ATS Position Mapping .
– When the auxiliary contact is closed , the ATS GPIO is Low .
– When the auxiliary contact is open , the ATS GPIO is High .
Schneider Energy Storage System
IMPORTANT!: For Schneider Energy Storage System (ESS) deployments, follow the steps listed in Appendix B: Schneider ESS and Conext MiniPDP before continuing deployment.

13. Circuits
13.1. Dedicated Circuit
For proper Energy Scene functionality, dedicated loads and their max wattage must be defined. A dedicated circuit is a circuit that serves a single appliance or electrical fixture. No other loads are allowed to draw energy from a dedicated circuit. See the following table for examples of circuit classification for a 200 Amp service size home as a guide.
Examples of Circuit Classification for a 200A Service Size Home

14. Energy Scenes
Energy Scenes are commands configured within the Savant Power & Light app. Energy Scenes determine which loads will be enabled if a power outage occurs.
14.1. Create Energy Scene
In this example, an Off Grid Energy Scene is created. An Off Grid Scene will automatically activate in the event of a power outage. Off Grid Scenes set which loads will remain powered (critical) when the system switches to backup power. Additional scenes can be created and configured to trigger based on battery state of w or on a schedule. The default Essentials Off Grid Scene will automatically activate in the event of a power outage.

IMPORTANT!:
– If two scenes have the same battery and grid conditions are scheduled to occur at the same time, the scene that satisfies more specific conditions is run.
– If the battery state of charge reaches a level that exists in an Off Grid Scene condition while the grid is down, that particular Off Grid Scene will activate.
– If the battery state of charge has reached a level that exists in an Off Grid Scene condition when the grid goes down, that particular Off Grid will activate.
– On The Grid scenes can be used at any time and will be implemented in a future release.

14.2. Energy Budget
The energy budget is a percentage of the maximum kW the power source can provide. This is handled automatically by the Power & Light app when the energy budget is given for an off grid scene. This section is informational.
– If the battery inverter or generator size is less than or equal to 10kW , the energy budget for off grid scenes is equal to the size of the inverter or generator.
– If the battery inverter or generator size is greater than 10kW , calculate the energy budget using the following equation:
Budget = Power Source Size + ( Power Source Size - 10kW / 0.4).
Example: A battery inverter has a size of 13.6 kW . The following equations represent calculating its energy budget.
Energy Budget = 10kW + (13.6 kW - 10kW)/0.4
Energy Budget = 10kW + 3.6kW/0.4
Energy Budget = 10kW + 9kW
Energy Budget = 19kW .

NOTES:
– Only configured and detected loads will be visible on this screen.
– Only dedicated loads need to be selected on this screen. Non-dedicated loads will remain available for any off grid scene.
