Installation

The installation procedure encompasses the following steps:

1) Device and magnet fixing.

2) Programming.

3) Completion and test.

1. Device fixing

INSTRUCTIONS RELEVANT TO POSITIONING

The device should be installed (figure 1):

With the detector and the magnet aligned as shown in the figure;

With the detector fixed to the frame and the magnet fixed to the door, opposite to the hinges (if the door, or the window, has a double door, the magnet shall be positioned on the door that is opened first);

Far from electromagnetic sources (e.g. electricity meters, electric engines);

At distance of at least 1.5 meters from fluorescent lights.

In order to fix the detector (figure 2):

1) Open the device by removing the cover from the detector with a screwdriver.

2) Remove the battery block from the base by lifting it by the springs that hold the battery.

3) Fix the base with the provided screw anchors and screws.

4) Insert the battery block again into the base by paying attention that the lower tamper spring is correctly positioned in the proper hole of the base.

To fix the magnet (figure 3):

Figure 2

1) Remove the strip isolating the positive terminal of the battery.

The LED turns on and the 5-minute calibration time starts. It can be restarted by removing and re-inserting the battery.

2) Bring the magnet closer. When the LED turns off, it means that the reed contact is closed. Move the magnet to identify the end closing positions of the reed and fix the magnet between them (suggested distance 0.3+- 0.2 cm). To fix them, use two screws that are suitable for the existing frame type.

2. Programming

To program the detector

1) Prepare the control unit to acquire the detector and select the required area and memory location.

2) Stimulate the detector by opening the door or the window equipped with the magnet or by pressing and releasing the antitampering tamper. The detector will transmit its code that will be acquired by the control unit.

3) The detector is programmed by setting the relevant parameters on the control unit. Besides the commands common to all sensors described in the installation manual of the control unit, it is possible to set also the following specific parameters:

3. Completion and test

Lay the cover back on the compartment and test the detector by following the testing instructions in the installation manual of the control unit.

Maintenance

To clean the device externally, use a dry cloth.

Battery replacement

The battery in the detector shall not be disposed as urban waste

(Directive, 2006/66/EC), as it is subject to separate waste collection in order to avoid environmental damages.

Battery shall be replaced by qualified personnel.

To replace the battery:

1) Put the control unit into maintenance status (please refer to the installation manual of the control unit).

2) Open the detector.

3) Remove the exhausted battery.

4) Insert the new battery.

5) Close the detector.

6) Execute the test of the detector from the control unit to be sure that it works.

Device reset

To delete the acquisition address and to restore the factory configuration of the sensor, press the anti-opening tamper for 5 times with an interval of at least one second between each single pressing. The activity must be executed within 16 seconds.

The reset shall be carried out if you want that the device is acquired by another control unit. To re-acquire the device on the same control unit, it is not necessary to previously execute the reset procedure.
