When connected to a Bang & Olufsen music system, the Beogram 9000 can be remote controlled by using the remote control unit appropriate to that system. The manual controls on the Beogram 9000 consist of ‘rocker’ buttons marked to indicate which end to press in order to carry out a specific function. These buttons are situated under the dust cover and are repre- sented in this booklet by a small box with the appropriate text or symbol inside it. For remote controlled operation, please refer to the instruction manual for your remote control unit. Use a screwdriver or a coin for this but note that the screws cannot be removed completely. If you ever have to move the record player, we strongly recommend that you tighten the three transport screws before you do so. Where to put the record player The record player must be placed horizontally on a T stable surface. Allow a space of at least 30 cm above the record player so that the dust cover can open freely. Place the platter on the turntable and check that it can move freely. It should feel springy when pressed lightly. Remember to raise the stylus guard on the car- tridge before you start playing a record. Connection to receiver If you are connecting your Beogram 9000 to a Beocenter 9000, plug the 7 pin DIN cable into the PHONO socket on the Beocenter 9000. If your receiver has a 5 pin DIN socket or phono sockets, first unscrew the two extra grooved pins from the plug using a tiny screwdriver. Then insert the plug directly into the 5 pin DIN socket on the receiver. If your receiver only has phono sockets, Stand-by mode an adaptor (Bang & Olufsen part no. 6270208) must be connected before inserting the plug into the phono sockets on your receiver. A connected Beocenter 9000 will follow suit after approximately 30 minutes.
