AQUAVISION 2DETECT and

AQUAVISION 2DETECT-WI-SENS

ALARM MODULE

Brief description of the alarm module:

AQUAVISION 2DETECT is a highly efficient leak detection control panel for both wired and wireless sensors.

These sensors are not supplied as standard; they need to be ordered separately.

This compact module is suitable for integration into the building’s computer network and in the event of a leak will automatically send an alert to notify engineers of the problem. The integrated web server makes the module easy to configure and all data can be viewed remotely.

In the event of a leak, the location of the leak is visible on the module’s LCD screen and a buzzer is activated.

Automatic alerts are sent via SNMP or email and the alarm relay is enabled. All alarm data can be viewed remotely. Each alarm is stored in the module’s memory, together with a time format and all detail data. The location of the leak is easy to identify using a site plan in PDF format, which can be loaded into the alarm module.

Two separate wired leak circuits can be connected to this module. The maximum connection per circuit is 150 metres of leak detection cable or 10 leak detection probes. Optionally, an additional 8 wireless water leak sensors can be connected to the alarm module.

The AQUAVISION 2DETECT can be easily integrated into any Building Management System by loading these relay contacts or by reading the Modbus TCP/IP registry, which is present in the AQUAVISION 2DETECT module as standard.

Modbus registry.

All data and alarms are continuously available via the LAN network.

Accurate indication of the location of the leak.

Automatic alarm alert via relay, SNMP trap and alarm mail.

Automatic shut-off of supply pipes

Connecting the alarm module:

Place the housing against the wall. Use the available holes provided on the outside of the housing. Position the

AQUAVISION 2DETECT in a central location relative to the wireless sensors.

Connect the required cables to the module according to the diagram below. Holes are provided for this purpose in the bottom of the housing, together with the necessary rubber seals. Punch a hole in the rubber seal to feed the cable through.

Water at the heart of our technology

Connecting the power supply: Connect the power cable that supplies the power to the module, to terminals

24VAC, 12/24VDC or to the terminals 230VAC - bottom left).

Connecting the leak detection circuits: Connect the connection cables of one or two wired water leak detection circuits (leak detection cable sensor or probe) to the terminals GR-YB and after deployment, mark the reference points for the distances.

ATTENTION:

Note the colour of the cables to the terminals. G = Green, R = Red, Y = Yellow and B = Black. No more than two circuits may be connected.

If only one circuit is connected, it is necessary to connect a bridging wire between Y and B and between G and

R of channel 2.

Alarm notification via relay contacts: All information from the module is transmitted through the network to the BMS or external alarm system via Modbus TCP/IP registry. However, if you require relay contacts for sending to an external system, then connect a cable to the appropriate relays below the module (bottom row of contacts). A LEAK relay and a FAULT relay is located below the VALVE relay on each circuit. Note: if only one send contact to an external system is available, the output relay is connected in series to the send using the normally closed contacts.

Connecting to the computer network: The network cable is plugged in via an RJ45 connector on the right-side of the module. Correct Ethernet connection is indicated by the lights being on. This module has an integrated web server. When correctly connected, the module is accessible to each computer on the network.

Optional wireless sensors:

There are 2 types of alarm module: one type has additional wireless sensors and one type does not.

1.

Type that is only suitable for 2 x wired sensors: AQUAVISION 2DETECT

2.

Type that is also equipped for wireless sensors: AQUAVISION 2DETECT-WI-SENS

Press and hold the orange button again and the system returns to normal operation.

Connecting the optional 5 VDC shut-off valve:

In the event of a leak, this alarm module can automatically control a shut-off valve and stop the water supply in the supply pipe. Only Cadis supplied 5VDC shut-off valves can be fitted.

Connect the Red connecting wire of the valve to NO +

Connect the Green connecting wire of the valve to NC +

Connect the Black connecting wire of the valve to – (minus)

NOTE: A contact on the the shut-off valve indicates the valve’s position. When the valve is closed, there is a closed contact between the yellow and white connecting wire. If required, this contact may also be forwarded to the BMS system.

Only after all the cables are connected can the housing be closed and the power supply to the module switched on. Otherwise, there is the risk of damage to the module.

The module will operate immediately and normally after switching on the power. Any additional settings for sending the alarms can be modified retrospectively by the users in the web server of the module using a PC or a laptop.

INFORMATION ON THE MODULE’S LCD DISPLAY:

Once the module has been connected correctly and the power supply switched on, the following information will appear on the blue LCD display of the module:

NORMAL SITUATION: When the module is powered, the following text appears on the screen if everything has been connected correctly and if there is no leak:

CH1 OK: 45 M The leak detection cable that is connected to CH1 has a length of 45 metres and is in normal operation. For CH2 this is 75 metres.

RF ACTIVE: 12345678 Eight wireless sensors are activated on the system.

RF Timeout: (blank) There are no communication problems with the wireless sensors.

LEAK ALARM : With a water leak at 11 metres along the leak cable in circuit 1, and no leak in circuit 2, the following will appear on the LCD screen: CH1: LEAK

11 M and CH2 OK (total connected length of 75m in circuit 2). Wireless sensors are also active and normal (see LCD screen below).

SERVICE ALARM : If the detection cable is contaminated or located in a humid environment, a service alarm may occur. If this alarm is activated, it is necessary to clean the detection cable at the specified location e.g. at 11 metres along the cable, which will appear as follows on the LCD screen. CH1 SERVICE 11 M.

NOTE: This message can also appear after a water leak if the detection cable is still damp. After the detection cable has been completely dried, the service alarm will reset automatically.

CABLE BREAKAGE: When a problem or breakage in the detection cable occurs, the following message is displayed on the LCD. This alarm will automatically reset as soon as the detection cable is back to normal status.

LEAK DETECTED BY WIRELESS SENSOR : If a water leak is detected by a wireless sensor e.g.. No 3, this is shown as follows:

NO COMMUNICATION WITH WIRELESS SENSOR : If no signal is received from a wireless transmitter for more than 2 hours, a time-out alarm is generated for that sensor. This is displayed on the LCD screen as follows: e.g.: sensor 6 lost communication.

NOTE: loss of communication may indicate that the batteries are flat, if the sensor is powered by batteries. Please replace the batteries. After replacing the batteries, the alarm will reset automatically. It is also possible that the wireless sensor is installed at too great a distance from the AQUAVISION 2DETECT, in which case the AQUAVISION

2DETECT must always be positioned centrally in relation to wireless sensors. The distance is very dependent on the environment and the walls.

Alarm beeper

The alarm beeper is activated at each new alarm and can be cancelled by pressing the push button on the front. It is also possible to cancel this beeper remotely via the web application using a computer or tablet with access to the network.

The AQUAVISION 2DETECT module is now ready for use and can be deployed. Additional settings for sending alarms or uploading a site plan must be done via computer or tablet using a standard web browser.
