WARNING: Do not operate this unit until you read this instruction manual for safety, operation and maintenance instructions. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious personal injury.

WORK AREA SAFETY







Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered benches and dark areas invite accidents.

Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.

Keep bystanders, children, and visitors away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.



ELECTRICAL SATETY





Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.

Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and





 refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.

Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.

Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.

When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.

If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a ground fault circuit.

PERSONAL SAFETY

• Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.

• Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection must be used for appropriate conditions.

• Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Contain long hair. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry, or long hair can be caught in moving parts.

• Avoid accidental starting. Be sure switch is off before connecting to power source and/ or battery pack , pick up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energizing power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.

• Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.

• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Proper footing and balance enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.

• If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure theses are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.

POWER TOOL USE AND CARE

• Do not force power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it is designed.

• Do not use the power tool if switch does not turn it on or off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.

• Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the power tool. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.

• Store idle power tools out of reach of children and other untrained persons. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.

• Maintain power tools with care. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained power tools, with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.

• Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect the power tools operation. If damaged, have the power tool serviced before using.

• Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.

BATTERY TOOL USE AND CARE



Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.





Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any another battery packs my create a risk of injury and fire. Use only POWERSMART battery (Model#PS76018B)

When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another.

Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.



Under extreme usage or temperature conditions, battery leakage may occur. If liquid comes in contact with your skin, wash immediately with soap and water, then neutralize with lemon juice or vinegar. If liquid gets into your eyes, flush them with clean water for at least 10 minutes, then seek immediate medical attention. Following this rule will reduce the risk of serious personal injury.

SERVICE

• Tool service must be performed only by qualified repair personnel. Service or maintenance performed by unqualified personnel could result in a risk of injury.

• When servicing a tool, use only identical replacement parts. Follow instructions in the Maintenance section of this manual. Use of unauthorized parts or failure to follow Maintenance Instructions may create a risk of electric shock or injury.

SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES FOR CORDLESS DRILL







































Use auxiliary handles supplied with the tool. Loss of control can cause personal injury. (if supplied)

Hold power tools by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting tools may contact hidden wiring. Contact with a “live” wire will make exposed metal parts of the tool “live” and shock the operator.

Wear ear protectors with impact drills. Exposure to noise can cause hearing loss.

Use auxiliary handles supplied with the tool. Loss of control can cause personal injury.

Use clamps or other practical way to secure and support the workpiece to a stable platform.

Holding the work by hand or against your body is unstable and may lead to loss of control.

Do not drill, fasten or break into existing walls or other blind areas where electrical wiring may exist. If this situation is unavoidable, disconnect all fuses or circuit breakers feeding this worksite.

Always hold the tool with both hands. If the bit jams two hands will give you maximum control over torque reaction or kickback.

Always wear safety goggles or eye protection when using this tool. Use a dust mask or respirator for applications which generate dust.

Secure the material being drilled. Never hold it in your hand or across legs. Unstable support can cause the drill bit to bind causing loss of control and injury.

Disconnect battery pack from tool before making any assembly, adjustments or changing accessories. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the tool accidentally.

Position yourself to avoid being caught between the tool or side handle and walls or posts. Should the bit become bound or jammed in the work, the reaction torque of the tool could crush your hand or leg.

If the bit becomes bound in the workpiece, release the trigger immediately, reverse the direction of rotation and slowly squeeze the trigger to back out the bit. Be ready for a strong reaction torque.

The drill body will tend to twist in the opposite direction as the drill bit is rotating.

Do not grasp the tool or place your hands too close to the spinning chuck or drill bit. Your hand may be lacerated.

When installing a bit, insert the shank of the bit well within the chuck. If the bit is not inserted deep enough, the grip of the chuck over the bit is reduced and the loss of control is increased. After bit insertion, pull on bit to ensure it is locked.

Do not use dull or damaged bits and accessories. Dull or damaged bits have a greater tendency to bind in the workpiece.

When removing the bit from the tool avoid contact with skin and use proper protective gloves when grasping the bit or accessory. Accessories may be hot after prolonged use.

Check to see that keys and adjusting wrenches are removed from the drill before switching the tool

"ON". Keys or wrenches can fly away at high velocity striking you or a bystander.

Do not run the drill while carrying it at your side. A spinning drill bit could become entangled with clothing and injury may result.

Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other construction activities contains chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some examples of these chemicals are:

• Lead from lead-based paints,

• Crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry products,

• Arsenic and chromium from chemically-treated lumber.

Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on how often you do this type of work. To reduce your exposure to these chemicals: work in a well ventilated area, and work with approved safety equipment, such as those dust masks that are specially designed to filter out microscopic particles.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING:

Do not use this product if any parts on the packing list are already assembled to your product when you unpack it. Parts on this list are not assembled to the product by the manufacturer and require customer installation. Use of a product that may have been improperly assembled could result in serious personal injury.

If any parts are damaged or missing do not operate this product until the parts are replaced.

INSERTING BITS











Move reverse switch lever to the center “OFF” position.

Remove battery pack and rotate the clutch ring to the drill bit symbol .

Rotate the chuck sleeve counter-clockwise viewing from chuck end, and open chuck to approximate drill bit diameter (see fig.2).

Insert a clean bit up to the drill bit flutes for small bits, or as far as it will go for large bits.

Close chuck by rotating the chuck sleeve clockwise and securely tighten by hand.

WARNING: Do not use the power of the drill while grasping chuck to loosen or tighten bit.

Friction burn or hand injury is possible if attempting to grasp the spinning chuck.

REMOVING CHUCK









Rotate the clutch ring to the drill bit symbol .

Open the chuck all the way, remove left-hand thread screw inside chuck by turning it clockwise.

Insert the short arm of a 1/2" hex key wrench and close jaws on flats of wrench.

Strike long arm of wrench sharply counterclockwise, remove wrench and unthread chuck from spindle.

INSTALLING CHUCK

Always keep the spindle threads, the threads of the chuck and securing screw free of debris. To install a chuck, reverse “removing chuck” procedure.

INSTALLING AND REMOVE THE AUXILIARY HANDLE







WARNING: Always be sure that the tool is switched off and the battery cartridge is removed before carrying out any work on the tool.

Insert the bolt into the hole above the variable speed trigger switch

(see fig.3).

Tighten the auxiliary handle from the other side of the hole to the bolt.

The auxiliary handle can be installed from the other side according to the operation habit

CONNECTING AND REMOVING BATTERY

IMPORTANT!

The battery pack is not charged when it is shipped. Before using the power tool for the first time, place the battery pack in the battery charger and charge.

To install the battery pack

To install the battery pack into the bottom of the handle, align the rails of the battery pack with the rails in the handle and push the battery into the handle. To connect the battery, slide the battery pack fully forward. Until the latch locks into place.

To remove the battery pack

Press the battery release button ,Slide the battery pack backward, and then pull or lift the battery out of the tool .

WARNING:

Follow these instructions in order to avoid injury and to reduce the risk of electric shock or fire:

• Replace the battery pack or the charger immediately if the battery case or charger cord is damaged.

• Verify that the battery pack is removed before inspecting, adjusting, or performing maintenance on any part of the power tool.

• Read, understand, and follow the instructions.

OPERATION INSTRUCTION

VARIABLE SPEED CONTROLLED TRIGGER SWITCH

Your tool is equipped with a variable speed trigger switch (see fig.1). The tool speed can be controlled from the minimum to the maximum nameplate RPM by the pressure you apply to the trigger. Apply more pressure to increase the speed and release pressure to decrease speed. This accurate speed control enables you to drill without center punching. It also permits you to use as a power screwdriver. Bits are available for driving screws as well as running bolts and nuts.

FORWARD/REVERSING LEVER & TRIGGER LOCK

WARNING: After tool use, lock trigger in “OFF” position to help prevent accidental starts and accidental discharge.

Your tool is equipped with a forward/ reversing lever and trigger lock located above the trigger (fig. 1). This lever was designed for changing rotation of the bit, and for locking the trigger in an “OFF” position.

For forward rotation, (with chuck pointed away from you) move the lever to the far left. The indicator light will turn green (see fig.4).

For reverse rotation move the lever to the far right. The indicator light will turn green.

To activate trigger lock move lever to the center off position.

CAUTION: Do not change direction of rotation until the tool comes to a complete stop. Shifting during rotation of the chuck can cause damage to the tool.

ADJUSTABLE CLUTCH

Your tool features 21 clutch settings. Output torque will increase as the clutch ring, is rotated from 1 to

20. The drill position will lock up the clutch to permit drilling and driving heavy duty work, and also enables bits to be changed quickly and easily in the keyless chuck.

CAUTION: Before actual operation, drive a trial screw into your material or a piece of duplicate material to determine which torque level is required for a particular application.

BRAKE

When the trigger switch is released it activates the brake to stop the chuck quickly. This is especially useful in the repetitive driving and removal of screws.

GEAR SHIFTING

Your tool is equipped with two separate gear ranges, Hi-torque “1”and High speed “2” (see fig.5). Hitorque provides high-torque and slower drilling speeds for heavy duty work or for driving screws.

High-speed provides faster speeds for drilling lighter work. To change speeds slide switch, to the Hitorque or High-speed position.

WARRNING: Always set the speed change lever fully to the correct position. If you operate the tool with the speed change

2 lever positioned halfway between the "1" side and "2" side, the tool may be damaged. Do not use the speed change lever while the tool is running. The tool may be damaged.

LIGHTING UP THE LAMP

CAUTION: Do not look in the light or see the source of light directly.

Pull the variable speed trigger switch to light up the lamp. The lamp keeps on lighting while the switch trigger is being pulled.

OPERATING TIPS

You will extend the life of your bits and do neater work if you always put the bit in contact with the work before pulling the trigger. During the operation, hold the tool firmly and exert light, steady pressure. Too much pressure at low speed will stall the tool. Too little pressure will keep the bit from cutting and cause excess friction by sliding over the surface. This can be damaging to both tool and bit.

Drilling with variable speed

The trigger controlled variable speed feature will eliminate the need for center punches in hard materials. The variable speed trigger allows you to slowly increase RPM. By using a slow starting speed, you are able to keep the bit from “wandering”. You can increase the speed as the bit “bites” into the work by squeezing the trigger.

Driving with variable speed

Variable speed drills will double as a power screwdriver by using a screwdriver bit in the drill mode.

The technique is to start slowly, increasing the speed as the screw runs down. Set the screw snugly by slowing to a stop. Prior to driving screws, pilot and clearance holes should be drilled.

Fastening with screws

This procedure shown in (Fig.7) will enable you to fasten materials together with your cordless drill without stripping, splitting or separating the material.

• First, clamp the pieces together and drill the first hole 2/3 the diameter of the screw. If the material is soft, drill only 2/3 the proper length.

If it is hard, drill the entire length.

• Second, unclamp the pieces and drill the second hole the same diameter as the screw shank in the first or top piece of wood. Third, if flat head screw is used, countersink the hole to make the screw flush with the surface.

• Then, simply apply even pressure when driving the screw. The screw shank clearance hole in the first piece allows the screw head to pull the pieces tightly together. The adjustable screw drill accessory will do all of these operations quickly and easily.

DRILLING OPERATION

DRILL BITS

Always inspect drill bits for excessive wear. Use only bits that are sharp and in good condition.

TWIST BITS: Available with straight and reduced shanks for wood and light duty metal drilling. High speed bits cut faster and last longer on hard materials.

CARBIDE TIPPED BITS: Used for drilling stone, concrete, plaster, cement and other unusually hard nonmetals. Use continuous heavy feed pressure when employing carbide tip bits.

DRILLING WOOD

Be certain workpiece is clamped or anchored firmly. Always apply pressure in a straight line with the drill bit. Maintain enough pressure to keep the drill “biting”. When drilling holes in wood, twist bits can be used. Twist bits may overheat unless pulled out frequently to clear chips from flutes.

Use a “back-up” block of wood for work that is likely to splinter, such as thin materials. You will drill a cleaner hole if you ease up on the pressure just before the bit breaks through the wood. Then complete the hole from the back side.

DRILLING METAL

There are two rules for drilling hard materials. First, the harder the material, the greater the pressure you need to apply to the tool. Second, the harder the material, the slower the speed. Here are a couple of tips for drilling in metal. Lubricate the tip of the bit occasionally with cutting oil except when drilling soft metals such as aluminum, copper or cast iron. If the hole to be drilled is fairly large, drill a smaller hole first, then enlarge to the required size, it’s often faster in the long run. Maintain enough pressure to assure that the bit does not just spin in the hole. This will dull the bit and greatly shorten its life.

DRILLING MASONRY

Soft materials such as brick are relatively easy to drill. Concrete however, will require much more pressure to keep the bit from spinning. Be sure to use carbide tip bits for all masonry work.

WARNING: Before using an accessory be certain that its maximum safe operating speed is not exceeded by the nameplate speed of the tool. Do not exceed the recommended wheel diameter.

RUNNING NUTS AND BOLTS

Variable speed control must be used with caution for driving nuts and bolts with socket set attachments.

The technique is to start slowly, increasing speed as the nut or bolt runs down. Set the nut or bolt snugly by slowing the drill to a stop. If this procedure is not followed, the tool will have a tendency to torque or twist in your hands when the nut or bolt seats.

IMPORTANT CHARGING NOTES

WARNING: Battery packs are shipped in a low charge condition to prevent possible problems. Therefore, you should charge them before first use.

• Use only POWER SMART battery charger (Model#PS76018C)

• Charge time is approximately 1hour, and is dependent upon the type of battery pack.

• Make sure the power supply is normal household voltage, 120V, AC only, 60HZ.

• Attach the battery pack to the charger by aligning the raised ribs on the battery pack with the grooves in the charger, then slide the battery pack onto the charger.

• Press down on the battery pack to be sure contacts on the battery pack engage properly with contacts in the charger. Latches should snap into ensure charger is correctly connected.

• Do not place the charger in an area of extreme heat or cold. It will work best at normal room temperature.

• The battery pack may become slightly warm to the touch while charging. This is normal and does not indicate a problem.

• The red LEDs will remain on while charging.

• When the green LEDs is light , this indicates the battery is fully charged .

• To remove the battery pack from the charger, depress latches and pull up on the battery pack.

• When the battery pack is fully charged, remove it from the charger.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING: In order to avoid personal injury and the risk of fire and electric shock, remove the battery pack before adjusting, inspecting, or cleaning the power tool.

WARNING: When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts could create a hazard or cause product damage.

• Be alert for battery packs that are nearing their end of life. If you notice decreased tool performance or significantly shorter running time between charges then it is time to replace the battery pack. Failure to do so can cause the tool to operate improperly or damage the charger.

• Clean the saw blade holder preferably with compressed air or a soft brush. Remove the saw blade from the power tool for this. Ensure proper operation of the saw blade holder by applying a suitable lubricant.

• Ventilation openings and switch levers must be kept clean and free of foreign matter. Do not attempt to clean by inserting pointed objects through opening.

• Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean clothes to remove dirt, oil, grease, etc.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

WARNING: Read instruction manual first! Remove battery pack from the tool before making adjustments or assembling accessories.

TROUBLE: TOOL WILL NOT START

PROBLEM

1. Battery pack not charged.

2. Battery pack not installed properly.

3. Battery pack temperature is too hot or cold for operation.

4. Burned out switch.

REMEDY

1. If equipped, check battery charge condition lights for charge status. Charge battery if needed.

2. Confirm battery is locked and secured to the tool.

3. Let battery sit a few minutes or until it reaches normal operating temperature.

4. Replace the switch provided by POWERSMART.

TROUBLE: BATTERY PACK WILL NOT CHARGE

1. Charger not plugged into outlet.

WORK AREA SAFETY





Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered benches and dark areas invite accidents.

Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids,

 gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.

Keep bystanders, children, and visitors away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.



ELECTRICAL SATETY



Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk







 of electric shock.

Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.

Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.

Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.

When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.

If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a ground fault circuit.

PERSONAL SAFETY

• Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.

• Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection must be used for appropriate conditions.

• Avoid accidental starting. Be sure switch is off before connecting to power source and/ or battery pack, pick up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energizing power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.

• Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.

• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Proper footing and balance enable better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.

• If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure theses are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.

POWER TOOL USE AND CARE

• Do not force power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it is designed.

• Do not use the power tool if switch does not turn it on or off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.

• Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the power tool. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.

• Store idle power tools out of reach of children and other untrained persons. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.

• Maintain power tools with care. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained power tools, with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.

BATTERY TOOL USE AND CARE



Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.







Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any another battery packs my create a risk of injury and fire. Use only POWERSMART battery (Model#PS76018B)

When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another.

Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.

Under extreme usage or temperature conditions, battery leakage may occur. If liquid comes in contact with your skin, wash immediately with soap and water, then neutralize with lemon juice or vinegar. If liquid gets into your eyes, flush them with clean water for at least 10 minutes, then seek immediate medical attention. Following this rule will reduce the risk of serious personal injury.

SERVICE

• Tool service must be performed only by qualified repair personnel. Service or maintenance performed by unqualified personnel could result in a risk of injury.

• When servicing a tool, use only identical replacement parts. Follow instructions in the Maintenance section of this manual. Use of unauthorized parts or failure to follow Maintenance Instructions may create a risk of electric shock or injury.

SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES FOR CORDLESS IMPACT DRIVER























Use auxiliary handles supplied with the tool. Loss of control can cause personal injury. (if supplied)

Hold the tool firmly.

Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces, when performing an operation where the fastener may contact hidden wiring. Fasteners contacting a "live" wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool "live" and could give the operator an electric shock.

Always be sure you have a firm footing. Be sure no one is below when using the tool in high locations.

Wear ear protectors with impact drills. Exposure to noise can cause hearing loss.

Disconnect battery pack from tool before making any assembly, adjustments or changing accessories.

Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the tool accidentally.

Do not grasp the tool or place your hands too close to the spinning chuck or drill bit. Your hand may be lacerated.

When installing a bit, insert the shank of the bit well within the chuck. If the bit is not inserted deep enough, the grip of the chuck over the bit is reduced and the loss of control is increased. After bit insertion, pull on bit to ensure it is locked.

Do not use dull or damaged bits and accessories. Dull or damaged bits have a greater tendency to bind in the workpiece.

Do not touch the bit or the workpiece immediately after operation. They may be extremely hot and could burn your skin.

Save these instructions. Refer to them frequently and use them to instruct others who may use this tool. If you loan someone this tool, loan them these instructions also to prevent misuse of the product and possible injury.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTION

WARNING:

Do not use this product if any parts on the packing list are already assembled to your product when you unpack it. Parts on this list are not assembled to the product by the manufacturer and require customer installation. Use of a product that may have been improperly assembled could result in serious personal injury.

If any parts are damaged or missing do not operate this product until the parts are replaced.

Use of this product with damaged or missing parts could result in serious personal injury.

WARNING:

Do not attempt to modify this product or create accessories not recommended for use with this product. Any such alteration or modification is misuse and could result in a hazardous condition leading to possible serious personal injury.

WARNING:

Do not connect to power supply until assembly is complete. Failure to comply could result in accidental starting and possible serious personal injury.

INSTALLING OR REMOVING DRIVER BIT/ SOCKET BIT

To install the driver bit, pull the sleeve in the direction of the arrow and insert the driver bit into the sleeve as far as it will go (see fig.3).

Then release the sleeve to secure the driver bit.

To remove the driver bit, pull the sleeve in the direction of the arrow and pull the driver bit out.

WARNING: After inserting the driver bit, make sure that it is firmly secured. If it comes out, do not use it. Pull the sleeve forward, push the insert tool to the stop into the tool holder and release the sleeve to lock the insert tool.

INSTALLING AND REMOVE THE BELT HOOK

WARNING: Always be sure that the tool is switched off and the battery cartridge is removed before carrying out any work on the tool.

Align the belt hook with the mounting hole of the base and tighten the screw. The belt hook can be installed from the other side according to the operation habit.

CONNECTING AND REMOVING BATTERY

IMPORTANT!

The battery pack is not charged when it is purchased. Before using the power tool for the first time, place the battery pack in the battery charger and charge. Make sure to read all safety precautions, and follow the instructions in the battery charger section.

To install the battery pack

To install the battery pack into the bottom of the handle, align the rails of the battery pack with the rails in the handle and push the battery into the handle. To connect the battery, slide the battery pack fully forward. Until the latch locks into place.

To remove the battery pack

Press the battery release button ,Slide the battery pack backward, and then pull or lift the battery out of the tool .

WARNING:

Follow these instructions in order to avoid injury and to reduce the risk of electric shock or fire:

• Replace the battery pack or the charger immediately if the battery case or charger cord is damaged.

• Verify that the battery pack is removed before inspecting, adjusting, or performing maintenance on any part of the power tool.

• Read, understand, and follow the instructions.

OPERATING INSTRUCTION

SWITCH ON/OFF

WARNING: Before inserting the battery cartridge into the tool, always check to see that the switch trigger actuates properly and returns to the "OFF" position when released.

To start the tool, simply pull the switch trigger. Tool speed is increased by increasing pressure on the switch trigger. Release the switch trigger to stop.

To activate the switch, press the control switch to the left or right position.

CONTROL SWITCH ACTION

This tool has a control switch to change the direction of rotation

(see fig.4). Depress the control switch lever to the far left for clockwise rotation. Depress the control switch lever to the far right for counterclockwise rotation. When the control switch is in the neutral position, the switch trigger cannot be pulled.

• Always check the direction of rotation before operation.

• Use the control switch only after the tool comes to a complete stop. Changing the direction of rotation before the tool stops may damage the tool.

• When not operating the tool, always set the control switch to the neutral position.

ADJUST THE SPEED

The speed of the power tool can be variably adjusted, depending on how far the switch trigger is pressed.

Light pressure on the switch trigger results in a low rotational speed. Further pressure on the switch trigger results in an increase in speed.

LIGHTING UP THE LAMP

CAUTION: Do not look in the light or see the source of light directly.

Press the switch trigger to light up the lamp. The lamp keeps on lighting while the switch trigger is being pulled.

OPERATING TIPS

Hold the tool firmly and place the point of the driver bit in the screw head. Apply forward pressure to the tool to the extent that the bit will not slip off the screw and turn the tool on to start operation.

CAUTION:

• Use the proper bit for the head of the screw/bolt that you wish to use.

• Hold the tool pointed straight at the screw.

• If the impact force is too strong or you tighten the screw for too long time, the screw or the point of the driver bit may be over stressed, stripped, damaged, etc. Before starting your job, always perform a test operation to determine the proper fastening time for your screw.

Apply the power tool to the screw/nut only when it is switched off. Rotating tool inserts can slip off.

The torque depends on the impact duration. The maximum achieved torque results from the sum of all individual torques achieved through impact. The maximum torque is achieved after an impact duration of

3-5 seconds. After this duration, the tightening torque is increased only minimally.

The fastening torque is affected by a wide variety of factors including the following. After fastening, always check the torque with a torque wrench.

• Strength properties of the screws/nuts.

• Type of backing (washer, disc spring, seal).

• Strength properties of the material being screwed/bolted together.

• Lubrication conditions at the screw/bolt connection.

IMPORTANT CHARGING NOTES

WARNING: Battery packs are shipped in a low charge condition to prevent possible problems. Therefore, you should charge them before first use.

• Use only POWERSMART battery charger (Model#PS76018C)

• Charge time is approximately 1hour, and is dependent upon the type of battery pack.

• Make sure the power supply is normal household voltage, 120V, AC only, 60Hz.

• Attach the battery pack to the charger by aligning the raised ribs on the battery pack with the grooves in the charger, then slide the battery pack onto the charger.

• Press down on the battery pack to be sure contacts on the battery pack engage properly with contacts in the charger. Latches should snap into ensure charger is correctly connected.

• Do not place the charger in an area of extreme heat or cold. It will work best at normal room temperature.

• The battery pack may become slightly warm to the touch while charging. This is normal and does not indicate a problem.

• The red LEDs will remain on while charging.

• When the green LEDs is light, this indicates the battery is fully charged.

• To remove the battery pack from the charger, depress latches and pull up on the battery pack.

• When the battery pack is fully charged, remove it from the charger.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING: In order to avoid personal injury and the risk of fire and electric shock, remove the battery pack before adjusting, inspecting, or cleaning the power tool.

WARNING: When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts could create a hazard or cause product damage.

• Be alert for battery packs that are nearing their end of life. If you notice decreased tool performance or significantly shorter running time between charges then it is time to replace the battery pack.

Failure to do so can cause the tool to operate improperly or damage the charger.

• Ventilation openings and switch levers must be kept clean and free of foreign matter. Do not attempt to clean by inserting pointed objects through opening.

• Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean clothes to remove dirt, oil, grease, etc.

• Ensure that no water can seep into the device. The ingress of water into an electric tool increases the risk of an electric shock.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

WARNING: Read instruction manual first! Remove battery pack from the tool before making adjustments or assembling accessories.

TROUBLE: TOOL WILL NOT START

PROBLEM

1. Battery pack not charged.

2. Battery pack not installed properly.

3. Battery pack temperature is too hot or cold for operation.

4. Burned out switch.

REMEDY

1. If equipped, check battery charge condition lights for charge status. Charge battery if needed.

2. Confirm battery is locked and secured to the tool.

3. Let battery sit a few minutes or until it reaches normal operating temperature.

4. Replace the switch provided by POWERSMART.

TROUBLE: BATTERY PACK WILL NOT CHARGE

TWO (2) YEARS LIMITED WARRANTY

PowerSmart ® is committed to building tools that are dependable for years. Our warranties are consistent with our commitment and dedication to quality.

TWO (2) YEARS LIMITED WARRANTY OF POWERSMART PRODUCTS FOR HOME USE.

PowerSmart (“Seller") warrants to the original purchaser only, that all PowerSmart consumer power tools will be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of two (2) years from date of purchase. Ninety (90) days for all PowerSmart Products, if the tool is used for professional or commercial use.

SELLER’S SOLE OBLIGATION AND YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDY under this Two (2) Years Limited

Warranty and, to the extent permitted by law, any warranty or condition implied by law, shall be the repair or replacement of parts, without charge, which are defective in material or workmanship and which have not been misused, carelessly handled, or misrepaired by persons other than Seller or Authorized Service Center. To make a claim under this Limited Warranty, you must return the entire power tool product; transportation prepaid, to

PowerSmart Include a legible copy of the original receipt, which lists the date of purchase (month and year) and the name of the company purchased from.

THIS LIMITED WARRANTY DOES NOT APPLY TO ANY ACCESSORY ITEMS INCLUDED WITH THE

TOOL SUCH AS CIRCULAR SAW BLADES OTHER RELATED ITEMS OR TO ANY REPLACEMENT

PARTS LISTED UNDER MAINTENANCE.

ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES SHALL BE LIMITED IN DURATION TO TWO (2) YEARS FROM DATE OF

PURCHASE. SOME STATES IN THE U.S. AND SOME CANADIAN PROVINCES DO NOT ALLOW

LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY
