AVT MP3 SOUND MODULES SERIES 100

Find the sound

Search on the web or on your phone for an MP3 file of the sound you want to play using the module and save a copy of it on your computer. At www.avtproducts.com there are links to sites that have already collected many sound files and which you can download for free.

*

Load the sound into the module

1. Connect the module, using the supplied USB cable, to a USB port on your computer. Your computer sees (the sound memory on) the module as an external drive.

2. Copy the desired sound file from your computer to the module.

3. Unplug the USB cable from your computer.

Play the sound

1. Connect the module to the mains (240V / 50Hz) using the

USB cable and the included transformer.

2. Insert the speaker plug into the speaker output of the module.

3. Connect the supplied switch with two wires (not included) to the screw terminals on the module labelled PB (Push

Button) . Start/stop the playback of the recorded sound by briefly pressing the Push Button.

**

4. Set the desired sound level with the push buttons and

on the module. The module remembers the volume level.

5. Set the selector switch on the module for either automatic repeat of the sound file

or to play it once only .

6. Once everything is set up, install the module and the speaker at an appropriate place below your layout. Install the switch on your control panel or wherever is convenient for you.

7. Have fun.

* On www.avtproducts.com there is a manual giving information on how to edit sound files. For example if the sound file is too large for the memory of your module (1 or 4 MB) you can trim it, or you may want to insert a period of silence, or to combine two sound clips, or ....

** Instead of the included manual switch you can also choose, for example, a reed switch or the switching contact of a relay. In all these cases there is a make/break-connection of the power supply from the module itself. You can also connect the module (and/or) to a DCC system. See for more information of this option www.avtproducts.com. The DCC connection to the module is via an opto-coupler. This to prevent short circuits between the power supplies of the module and the DCC system.
