Replacement Electronics Assembly

For Simplicity CEX Scanner

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Removing the old Scanner Electronics Assembly

1. Turn off all electrical power to the 65UV5-1004ECEX -Series scanner.

2. Remove the CEX housing cover.

3. Remove the fiber insulating paper from the electronics or the housing cover, and set aside.

4. Record wire locations on the two terminal blocks. Then disconnect wires from the terminal strips on the electronics assembly. (Refer to Simplicity scanner bulletin CU-104 for complete wiring information.)

5. With a 5/32” x150 Allan wrench, loosen and remove the three Allan-head bolts and remove the electronics assembly.

6. Add a small amount of removable thread locking compound (e.g. Loctite Blue #242) to the three screw holes in the CEX housing base.

7. Position the new scanner electronics assembly into the CEX housing base.

8. Align the three Allan head bolts with the threaded holes on the CEX housing base and torque to 30 inch-pounds (3.39 Newton-meters).

9. Reconnect the scanner cable wires to the two terminal strips on the electronics assembly.

10. Position the original fiber insulating paper around the electronics (Refer to picture in step 3), and reinstall the CEX housing cover.
