User Manual ProStar GH-CBG-EN-00 Your dealer: Preface Read this manual carefully. Store it carefully at a place which is accessible to all users. This user manual is only intended for the cafeja® Vista machine. The cafeja® Vista can be extended with the following options: 1 Water filter. A water filter enables a good and consistent taste of the consumptions. Water stop. A water stop sees to it that, in case the water hose is malfunctioning, no more than the on the water stop entered amount of water is being let through. 3 Water pump fin case there is no fixed water connection) This user manual is aimed at: 1 The user (this is the person who only operates the machine on the outside) 2 The operator (cleans, maintains and fills up the machine) 3 The service mechanic (puts the machine into operation, instructs the operator and carries out possible repairs) If necessary, it is indicated in this manual to whom the respective text applies. E.g.: for operating, maintenance, etc. It is also indicated whenever the service mechanic should use the documentation that was supplied by the dealer. KEKKUAHKEHWERUAREEEEEEALEARERANKRANG „28 Introduction 1.1 Intended use This machine is exclusively meant for the preparation of warm and cold drinks, such as coffee, cocoa, cappuccino, caffe latte and cold carbonated water. With the hot water button other warm drinks can be prepared, such as for example tea. It is prohibited to use the machine for other uses than described above. It is also prohibited to place the machine in spaces where high pressure or steam cleaning takes place. 1.2 Safety 1.2.1 Original parts When replacing parts, use only original (spare) parts, supplied by Veromatic International B.V. This also goes for the mentioned options. These comply with the strict quality requirements by which the machine will keep functioning optimally. When non-original parts are being used, the warranty will become void, and Veromatic International B.V. will not be liable for possibly resulting damage. 1.2.2 Hygiene For good hygiene and safety, it is important that the machine is maintained according to the instructions. 1.2.3 Brewer le ле Do not move your fingers close to the brewer when it is turning. As an extra safety | measure a sign as displayed to the right has been affixed to the brewer, (figure 1-1) \ Ve ~ / 1.2.4 Ventilation vents Prevent objects or fluids entering the machine through the ventilation vents. Immediately pull the plug from the wall socket in case any fluid ends up in the machine. Do not spray with a water hose or similar piece of equipment in the direction of the machine, figure 1-1 1.2.5 Water filter The water filter (optional) should be replaced every six months, or after about 30.000 consumptions. Your dealer can tell you more about this. A water filter that is being used too long has a negative effect on the functioning of the machine, and can pose a health danger. Do not use the water filter in areas where the water is microbiologically unsafe, or in areas where the water quality is unknown. Follow the installation instructions that are listed in paragraph 8.6, or follow the installation instructions for the water filter. 1.2.6 Water temperature There is a water boiler inside the machine, which uses a water temperature of 80-90°C. The water remains warm, even if the machine is switched off, for quite a while. 1.2.7 Dispensing time The drink will be dispensed almost immediately after you have made a selection. 1.2.8 Electrical safety Parts that can oniy be removed using tools may not be removed. This may only be done by a certified service mechanic, See also paragraph O. It is also not allowed to stick objects into the various vents of the machine, and no water may be sprayed into or onto the machine. And the machine may not be placed in spaces that are cleaned with steam or high pressure machines. 1.2.9 Cooler temperature When the machine is equipped with a cooler, you should make sure that the water in the quench tank of the cooler does not freeze. In case the cooling water still freezes, the machine should be switched off and the water supply should be disconnected. The required hot water comes from a boiler. This boiler constantly maintains the water at a specific temperature. When the water drops below a certain level, the input valve will be opened, allowing tap water to flow into the boiler. The amount of water that is already present and the heating element together see to it that the “new” water will quickly heat up to the right temperature. Vacuum fresh filter principle This machine uses the vacuum fresh filter principle to make coffee. Coffee and hot water are dosed on a cylinder that is filled with air, with above that a fine sieve with filter paper. Next the piston inside the cylinder moves upwards, so that air is blown through the coffee water mixture, in order to obtain a good extraction. After this upwards movement, the piston moves downwards, so that a vacuum IS created, by which the coffee is sucked through the filter paper and the sieve into the cylinder. The coffee is deposited when the piston is in its lowest position, while the used filter paper, with the coffee residue on it, is transported to the waste bin. A clean piece of filter paper is now ready for the next cycle. Instant principle A certain amount of hot or cold water and powder(s) are dosed into a mixer unit. Both substances are mixed in this unit with a fast rotating mixer. The mixture will flow, be it with or without another soluble substance, through the outlet into your cup or jug. Transportation and unwrapping 2.1 Transportation The transportation of this machine may only take place with the machine in its original packaging. There are instructions on the packaging that are needed for the storage and transportation of this machine, i.e. store frost proof, do not bump, hand truck position, maximum stacking height, etc. Transportation data: + Storage temperature : +O to + 50° Celsius e Dimensions (hxwxd) incl. packaging : 810 x 390 x 600 mm se Machine weight without cooler ; Ca. 43 kg . with cooler : ca. 85 kg 2.2 Unwrapping Check the packaging for damage. A damaged machine may be unsafe and may not be put into operation, Please contact your dealer in this case. The machine may only be transported in the original packaging. So do not throw the packaging away, when it is expected that the machine will have to be transported again at a later stage. 3 Installation A The installation may only be carried out by a competent service mechanic] 3.1 General installation guidelines Apart from the legal guidelines that the service mechanic has to obey, Veromatic Internationat B.V. has in addition the following requirement for a service mechanic to observe: 1 The mechanic is very familiar with cafeja® Vista machines, through training at Veromatic International B.V. or by equal training obtained elsewhere. 2 The mechanic uses the instructions, schemes etc. that apply to this type and design. 3 The mechanic is very familiar with the applicable guidelines on hygiene. 3.2 Connection data The cafeja® Vista is only suited for domestic use, or use in office and light industrial environments. When the machine is placed in a different environment, Veromatic International B.V. will not vouch for the correct functioning of the machine. The machine may only be placed where it is under the supervision of trained staff. There should always be trained staff in the vicinity of the machine. 3.21 Electrical connection e Separate group only for this machine, with a 16 ampere fuse. + Reliable wall socket with earth connection e Supply voltage : 230 V v + 10% e Frequency : 50 Hz + 2% *e Power consumption : 2000 W : 2300 W for version with cooler * Operating temperature : 10-40 °C 3.2.2 Water connection e Water connection : 3 " (supply boiler) : 8 mm {supply cooler) » Water pressure : 0.2 - 8.5 x10° Pa (= 0.2 - 8.5 Баг) : 2.0 - 8.5 x10° Pa (= 2.0 - 8.5 bar) for version with cooler * Water lock : Veromatic International B.V. requires the use of a water lock (ordering code HL-00190) and does not accept any liability with regard to water damage, if the machine is installed without this safety device. 3.2.3 CO; bottle connection If the machine is equipped with a cooler with carbon dioxide (CO, ) the following applies as well: e Operating pressure CO, equipment : 3.5 x105 Pa (=3.5 bar) 3.3 Positioning т Position the machine: » Indoors on a frost proof spot where it cannot be exposed to de moist and cannot get wet. e With sufficient free space available around the machine, for instance to be able to open the door (see figure 3-1, sizes in mm). * Ona horizontal, flat and stable surface. o , e Close to a wall socket that can be reached easily, so that in emergencies the plug can be pulled. > » When positioning directly under a cupboard, keep at least BT Bem 100 mm space to the left and right side. TS 3.4 Connecting figure 3-1 Y | WARNING! Give the machine some time to acclimatize. So give it at least half an hour on its place to settle, before you connect it to the mains. 1 Rinse the water pipe so that possible dirt does not get into the machine. Connect the water hose. This only works with a new supplied connection set. The water connection should comply with the locally applicable regulations of the water company. 3 Check whether the hose is hanging without twists and is not damaged. 4 Make the machine level by means of the levelling feet below the machine. 5 Fill, if available, the quench tank up to the marked level (inside of the tank) using the filling hose on the front side. 6 Open the tap. 7 Check for possible leaks. 8 Keep the machine at least for half an hour in position, so that it can acclimatize. 9 Make sure that the electricity cable is not running along sharp edges or over hot surfaces. 3.5 Putting into operation Y This may only be done by a certified service mechanic! 1 Open the door of the machine. 2 Put the plug into the wall socket. e The machine will now start up, and the touch screen will show the two software numbers. By pressing the pause button, the numbers will stop moving. e The boiler will now be filled with water (No water’ in touch screen). 3 Meanwhile, fill the product container(s). When the boiler is filled with water, the message "Heating up’ will appear. 4 Watt until the water inside the boiler is at the right temperature (‘Heating up’ from touch screen). 5 Rinse all pipes, by rinsing all mixer units and, if available, taking cold water that you throw away afterwards. 6 Set the machine to the desired taste and amount. Fill out the different values on the accompanying settings list. Take every product at least twice, to check the setting. 7 Instruct the operator on the necessity to read the user manual and to keep it safely together with the settings list. 8 Close the door. 9 Note: if the machine is equipped with a cooler, it may take around 2 hours before the water in the cooler has sufficiently cooled off for cold consumption. Please pay attention to this. 3.6 Instructions for the operator After the machine has been installed and has been made ready for use, the service mechanic has to instruct the operator by means of this manual, on how the machine should be maintained in a responsible way. Safety and hygiene are the focus points. Settings 4.1 Introduction In order to be able to dose all products and water amounts, various engines and valves have bee built in. By using modern electronics, the various operating times can be regulated precisely. Various combinations can be made, which, within certain limits, can be changed by the service mechanic. The machine is supplied with a standard factory setting. This standard setting can always be reverted to. Your dealer will make sure that the machine is set to your taste on the spot. Settings may only be input by a service mechanic. The setting of the amounts of product and water may vary per machine. Every machine has a unique machine number with a corresponding software version. In case you want the settings on your machine changed, the following is of importance to the dealer: e The machine number. This is listed on the name plate which, depending on the design, can be found on the inside on the right sidewall or on the backside of the machine. * The operating system number. This is displayed in the touch screen when starting the machine. * The specific machine number. This is displayed in the touch screen when starting the machine. With these data it is possible for your dealer to adjust your settings to your personal wishes. 4.2 Water dosing The amount of water is determined by: e The time during which the outlet valve is operated. e For cold drinks, when the machine is equipped with a cooler, the position of the reduction valve. 4.3 Products The amount of product depends on: « The time during which the engine of the product container is operated. e The spiral worm in use in the product container to dose the product. 4.4 Water temperature The temperature of the water in the boiler can be set by your dealer. In general the following can be set: « Temperature too low > The product does not dissolve well *e Temperature too high = Water may start to boil under certain circumstances, which will switch off the safety of the machine. A service mechanic will then have to reset the machine, before it can be used again. The temperature of the water for cold drinks, if available, cannot be set. 10 Operation The cafeja® Vista is equipped with a touch screen, through which the machine can be operated very easily. This touch screen can, apart from displaying information, also be used as a keyboard. The machine is also equipped with various sensors, which provide feedback to the user through the touch screen and the illuminated strips on the door. The cup sensor for example, can ‘see’ where a cup is placed and will display this through a blinking strip on the door. 5.1 Selecting a drink 1 Choose a drink by pressing the button (oval) on the touch screen (see figure 5-1). You will see a blue coloured strip blinking on the door, which indicates where you should place your cup on the cup frame. For warm drinks this is to the left of the cup frame, for cold drinks and hot water without additives this is to the right of the cup frame. After placing the cup or mug, or in case you have already placed your cup beforehand, the strip will illuminate permanently. Adjust the strength of your consumption if desired (see figure 5-1). To the right of the consumption you will see a plus and minus button, with which you can adjust the strenght of your consumption. Set the amount of cups in case you have placed a jug. This can be done by pressing the jugs button on the touch screen (see figure 5-2, to the right in the middie the button with a jug on it). With the plus and minus buttons that then appear you can set the amount of cups. Depending on the chosen drink you can add milk or sugar, if desired. For that you press the button Milk and/or Sugar, and then adjust the amount, if so desired, by means of the plus and minus buttons that appear on the right side. In case you are using a glass instead of a cup or mug, it may be that the cup sensor does not recognize the fact that you have placed a glass. In that case the machine will not dispense a drink, and show a blinking strip on the door to indicate that you should place a cup or mug. If the machine does detect a cup, the glass button will disappear from the touch screen. Next press the Start button in order to dispense the drink. Pay if necessary. In the touch screen it is shown that your drink is being prepared. Be careful! Hot drinks may cause burns. Keep your hands out of the vicinity of your mug, cup or glass as long as the machine is still busy making your drink. If desired you can interrupt the procedure by pushing the stop button. A drink that is already ‘in the making’ will be finished, unless it only concerns cold or hot water, which will be interrupted immediately. If you have selected several drinks by means of the jugs button, the machine will stop after dispensing the currently selected drink. The machine will show in the touch screen when your drink is ready. It can also be set that the machine releases an audible signal when your drink is ready. 11 5.1.1 Payment systems When the machine is equipped with a payment system, it is shown in the touch screen whether the payment system is currently active or not. The price of the drink can be read next to the button. In case you do not have enough credit on your card, or in case too little money has been inserted, the machine will display a light indicating that money has to be inserted. The inserted money, or the available credit on the card, is displayed in the lower right hand corner on the touch screen. 5.1.2 As an extra feature this machine can be equipped with a key switch. With this the user of the key can: Key switch Use the jugs function if the machine is switched to paid operation (without having to pay for it). e Fill a jug if the machine is switched to “Jug not possible” by your dealer. 5.2 The service menu The cafeja® Vista is equipped with a service menu (see figure 5-4) in which adjustments with regard to the functioning of the machine can be made. The current time and date can for instance be set, as well as when the machine should switch on and off. Also counters can be read, The service menu is only available in the English and German language. You enter the service menu through the maintenance menu {see figure 5-3). In order to enter the maintenance menu you open the door of the machine with the door key while the machine is on. Then you press the button ‘Service menu’ in order to enter the service menu. 5.3 Setting the clock 5.3.1 When you press the button “Clock” in the service menu, you can set the present time and date. You will see a menu in which time and date can be set easily using the arrow buttons. Press the ‘OK’ button to save changes and to go to an upper menu. You can also interrupt the setting by pressing the ‘Cancel’ button. These are, from top to bottom: 1) Move cursor up, 2) Raise value by one unit, 3) Call numerical figure 5- keyboard for direct numerical entering of values, 4) Exit button (leave menu while saving changes), 5) Reduce value by one unit, and 6) Move cursor down. In order to change a setting you move the cursor by means of the arrow buttons to the respective setting. With the plus and minus button you can enter the desired value. If you keep pressing the button, the value will be raised / reduced automatically and increasingly faster. You may select the days for which the setting should apply by simply pressing your finger on the respective day. Selected days are shown inverted. Changes are saved immediately; so in order to overrule the setting you must set the value again. 5.3.3 Setting time switch to free distribution When the machine is set to paid operation, the machine can be set to free distribution for specific parts of the day. Because this involves the same programs as in the paragraph above, you can choose a maximum of four time frames per day. The way of setting the time is identical to setting the time switch. 5.4 Reading counters The cafeja® Vista is equipped with electronic counters to count the number of drinks that has been dispensed. To read these software counters, do the following: Press the ‘Counters’ button in the service menu. Then you will see an overview of all products and the number of drinks that has been dispensed. By pressing the Exit button you will return to the previous menu. 5.5 Reading & setting the ingredient stock In order to make the use of ingredients clear, as well as to see how full the product containers are, the ingredient stock overview can be used. Here you can also reset the level of the product in the product holder after refilling. The reading works as follows: Open the door of the machine while it is switched on. You will enter the maintenance menu. Now open the top lid of the machine (see also figure 6-1). You will see the product containers displayed on the touch screen, as well as the (estimated) level of the product in the | respective product container. With the ‘Exit’ button you will go to the previous menu again. 13 6 Maintenance Good maintenance is very important. Hygiene and a nice cup of coffee are closely related to each other. By following the instructions correctly, the machine can be kept clean in a safe and efficient way, in accordance with HACCP regulations. y WARNING! Never spray fluid into or onto the machine. This menu can only be accessed by the operator, and it contains functions for regular maintenance of the machine. You can enter the maintenance menu by opening the door of the machine by means of the door key, while the machine is switched on. In this case it again applies that you have to press the displayed button in order to activate the respective function or the submenu. The brewer engine will start to turn and the brewer mixer bowl drops again. « Attention! Keep your hands out of the vicinity of the brewer as long as the brewer engine is still turning. Removing brewer; « Pull the spout and coffee outlet from the brewer cylinder. « Lift the brewer up at the front side and at the same time pull the brewer from the machine towards you. Take the brewer funnel out of the brewer mixer bowl. Clean the brewer, the spare funnel, the spout and the coffee outlet with a brush and lukewarm water, and an especially suited cleaning detergent such as SaniBrew from SaniWonder. Your dealer can tell you more about this. Clean the brewer drip tray and put it back, Dry off the brewer as much as possible. Replace the brewer funnel back into the brewer mixer bow! and place the whole part back on the brewer. Clean the mixer units: e Turn the vacuum bowl a quarter of a turn to the right (clockwise) and then shove it upward. » Shove the mixing-rinsing bow! upwards (this is rather heavy). « Pull the rinsing bowl! carefully out of the hose connection. « Turn the mixer cabinet a little clockwise, and at the same time pull it forward. Although the inner and outer mixer units look different, the way they are {dis)assembled is identical. « Pull the hoses from the mixer cabinets. e Clean all parts in a bucket with hot water, and preferably brush them clean with a certified cleaning detergent. e Clean the suction channel {see figure 6-5). Remove the cover plates for this, by turning the knurled nuts. e Assemble all parts again in the opposite order. Clean the interior of the machine with a moist cloth, preferably with an especially suited cleaning detergent such as SaniClean from SaniWonder., Clean the cup frame. If necessary, remove it from the door and then put it back again. Placing the brewer: e Put the brewer back in the machine (pay attention to the position of the drive stop at the back side of the brewer, and the catch pin on the brewer engine). e Check whether the product container outlet and water supply hose are connected correctly. « Place the spout, the coffee outlet and, if applicable, the hot water hose back on the brewer cylinder again (this is rather heavy). 17 15 Put in filter paper e Press the button “Change filter paper in the maintenance menu on the touch screen. The brewer mixer bowl will now move upwards. Wait until the brewer stops. + WARNING! Keep your hands out of the vicinity of the brewer until the brewer engine stops turning. o Pull the roller arm upwards, so that the small transportation wheels are lifted up. Replace the filter paper back under the small wheels, in the middle of the transportation roll. e Press the ‘Change filter paper roll” button on the touch screen again. The brewer engine will start to turn and the brewer mixer bowl! drops again. * Attention! Keep your hands out of the vicinity of the brewer as long as the brewer engine is still turning. e Check whether the paper is in the middle of the transportation roll. 16 Place the product containers back into the machine again, and take care of a correct position of the outlets. See Figure 6-3. 17 Rinsing. ATTENTION, hot water! e Place a jug or something similar below the outlet. « Check for possible leaking during the rinsing. « Press the button ‘Rinse everything’ (see figure 6-3) ATTENTION, hot water! The mixer units are now rinsed. The mixer engines will also start turning for a short while. In order to rinse only one mixer system, press 'Rinse right mixer" or 'Rinse left mixer' in the maintenance menu. » Repeat the rinsing one more time. 18 Empty and clean the drip tray and the drip tray frame, and put them back. The drip tray may not be cleaned in a dish washer, since this may damage the lacquer. 19 In case you removed the cup frame, place this back into the door. 20 Close the top lid and subsequently the door. 21 Clean the outside of the machine with a clean, moist cloth and an especially suited cleaning detergent such as SaniClean from SaniWonder. 22 Make a “test” drink of each product. 6.1.3 Filling the product containers In order to maintain a good functioning, this machine may only be filled with products that are endorsed by your dealer. Mode of operation: Open the door of the machine. Lift up the top lid. Turn the outlets of the product containers upward. Remove the product containers from the machine, Remove the lids from the product containers. Fill the product containers. The products may not be tamped down! Put the lid back on the product containers. Place the product containers back into the machine. Turn the outlet of the product holders back into the right position. Rinse the mixer units by means of the button 'Rinse everything’ (see figure 6-3). ATTENTION, hot water! The mixer units are now being rinsed. The mixer engines will start turning for a short while. In order to rinse only one mixer system, press 'Rinse right mixer’ or 'Rinse left mixer’ in the maintenance menu. 11 Adjust the ingredient counters. See also paragraph 5.5. 12 Close the top lid. 13 Close the machine. 14 Make a “test” drink of each product. 0 ONU cr сло 5) В punk oo 18 6.1.4 Replacing the filter paper roli In order to maintain a good functioning and a balanced figure 6-6 taste, only the filter paper prescribed by your dealer may be used. Mode of operation: 1 oo Open the door of the machine. The machine will automatically switch to service mode and in the touch screen you will see the maintenance menu. Tear off or cut the filter paper to the left of the mixer bowl. See figure 6-6 for an example of the filter paper transport. Remove filter paper from the brewer: e Press the ‘Change filter paper’ button on the touch screen. The brewer engine will start to turn and the brewer mixer bowl is being lifted up, so that the filter paper becomes free. Attention! Keep your hands out of the vicinity of the brewer as long as the brewer engine is still turning. е Pull the roller arm upwards, so that the small transportation wheels are lifted up, and pull the old filter paper out of the brewer, and dispose of it. s Open the small paper door. « Rewind the rest of the paper roll. + Replace the old roll. Putting in filter paper: « Place a new filter paper roll in its place, and make sure that the roll turns clockwise. Tear the paper over the paper guide. e Pull the paper under the brewer mixer bowl. e Pull the roller arm upwards, so that the small transportation wheels are lifted up, and at the same pull the paper through until the paper hangs for a smail part in the garbage can (when using the transit set: pull the paper completely through the waste bin to the lower cabinet). e Check whether the paper is in the middle of the transportation roll. Close the small paper door. Press the ‘Change filter paper roll’ button on the touch screen. The brewer engine will start turning again and the brewer mixer bowl! will lower again so that the filter paper is being pressed again. Attention! Keep your hands out of the vicinity of the brewer as long as the brewer engine 15 still turning. Close the door of the machine. Press the ‘Exit’ button on the touch screen in order to leave the maintenance menu. Make a “test” drink of each coffee product to verify that everything is functioning correctly. 19 6.2 Maintenance of the water cooler When the machine is equipped with a water cooler, the following maintenance has to be carried out. 6.21 Weekly maintenance When the machine is equipped with a cooler with CO, , check the following: 1 2 LU The pressure in the CO, bottle. This should be at feast 3.5 x10° Pa (= 3.5 bar). If the pressure is less, the CO, bottle has to be replaced. Check whether the cooler is not leaking any CO; , To do this close the tap of the CO, bottle and wait for 10 minutes. Look whether the pressure meter on the bottle indicates a lower pressure. If so, the cooler is leaking CO, and the help of a mechanic is required. Check the level of the water tank (see figure 6-2) The water level should be between the Min and Max sign. Now the water tank is supplied with an overflow pipe, so the water level in the water tank cannot be too high. It can be too low, though. In that case you have to do the following: » Take the supply hose (see figure 6-2) out by means of for example a pen or a screw driver. » Put a funnel in the top of the hose and pour water into the funnel, so that the water level will get between the Min and Max sign. e Remove the funnel and put back the hose. Check whether there is water in the small collector bottle (2), and empty the bottle if this is the case. Attention: Especially do not forget to replace the small bottle, because otherwise water may fall into the machine and on the floor! The water tank can sometimes become too full as a result of condensation moisture that is stored here. Surplus water leaves the water tank via the overflow pipe, and is then collected in the small bottle. 6.2.2 Six monthly maintenance The water tank of the cooler and condenser must be cleaned every six months. This may only be done by a certified service mechanic. He or she uses training information and service instructions that are supplied by the manufacturer. 6.2.3 Change CO, bottle If the pressure in the CO, bottle is too low, the bottle has to be changed. The pressure in the bottle is too low when the indicator of the CO, bottle pressure meter is in the red part of the meter (see figure 6-2 (6)). Change the bottle in the following way: 1 Close the large, adjustable tap on the CO; bottle (see figure 6-2, (3)) by turning it to the right. e Turn with a large, adjustable wrench the swivel (4) between the regulating valve and the CO, bottle (8) loose. In some cases the wrench is already hanging on the bottle outlet close to the swivel. + Remove the empty bottle and place a new one. s Open the tap CO; bottle carefully for about 5 seconds, so that possibie air at the top of the bottle is removed. e Reconnect the regulating valve to the new bottle. Open de tap on the CO, bottle again. Check whether the cooler is not leaking any CO, . For that you close the tap of the CO, bottle and wait for 10 minutes. Look whether the pressure meter (5) on the bottle indicates a lower pressure. If so, the cooler is leaking CO, and the help of a mechanic is required. Rinse the cooler with CO, . This goes as follows: e Close the water supply. e Place a jug under the outlet. e Keep the respective button pressed, until all the water has flown out of the cooler, and you hear CO, gas flowing out of the outlet. e Open the water supply again. Pour some carbonised water consumptions, in order to remove possible residual water and air from the pipes. 20 6.3 Short maintenance instruction This short working instruction is only meant for an operator who has broad experience with the normal maintenance instructions. 6.3.1 Daily maintenance (abridged) Maintenance may only be carried out by the operator. Also when the machine is being used little, this maintenance has to take place daily. Warning! Never spray with a water hose into or on to the machine. Abridged mode of operation: 1 Rinse the brewer (2x) 2 Clean the mixer units. 3 Rinse all mixer units 2x. 4 Clean the drip tray and the drip tray frame. 5 Clean the distribution cabinet. 6.3.2 Weekly maintenance (abridged) Maintenance may only be carried out by the operator. Also when the machine is not used very often, this maintenance has to take place weekly. Abridged mode of operation: Clean the brewer. Remove and clean all parts of the mixer system. Clean the vacuum channel (see figure 6-5) Clean drip tray and frames. Clean the interior of the machine. Rinse the mixer system. Clean the outside of the machine. Make a “test” drink of each selection. CON NS U N > 6.4 Monthly maintenance Replace the vacuum filter of the vacuum channel (see figure 6-5) 6.5 Six monthly maintenance In order to have the machine function safely and hygienically, the machine should receive an overhaul every six months. This may only be done by a certified service mechanic. He or she uses training information and service instructions that are supplied by the manufacturer. 21 MALFUNCTIONS & REPAIRS 7.1 Touch screen messages This machine is equipped with an advanced malfunction analysis. When something is wrong, a message is displayed on the touch screen. In most cases the operator can solve these malfunctions easily. ATTENTION! The solution for the malfunction is only meant as a suggestion; for more comprehensive instructions please consult the relevant chapter in this manual. If you cannot correct the malfunction, please contact your dealer. When they occur, malfunctions are displayed by means of an extra button ‘Malfunction information’ on the touch screen (see figure 7-1). If this button is pressed, a list with a maximum of 6 malfunction messages will be displayed. For a number of malfunctions a suggestion for solving the malfunction will be displayed on the screen as well. In case a malfunction causes some drinks not being available, these options are displayed with a cross through them on the touch screen. An example of this is shown to the right in figure 7-11 is the touch screen that you see when the filter paper has ran out. The function keys that are crossed out can now not be used. If you subsequently press the ‘Malfunction information’ button the touch screen as shown in figure 7-1 will be displayed. Below the malfunction message ‘No filter paper’ you can see the suggestion ‘Place a new filter paper roll". By pressing the button ‘Exit’ you leave the Malfunction information menu. Those repairs may only be carried out by a qualified mechanic (see also paragraph 3.1). With that only original parts may be used. The requirements for a mechanic are: 1 The mechanic has to be very familiar with the laws and regulations in the field of electrical connections, electrical symbols, etc. 2 The mechanic has to be very familiar with cafeja® Vista machines, through training at Veromatic International B.V. or by equal training obtained elsewhere. 3 The mechanic uses the instructions, schemes etc. that apply for this type and design. 4 The mechanic obeys all security measures not to expose himself or others to any danger, both electrically and mechanically. 5 The mechanic has to be very familiar with the applicable guidelines on hygiene. Take the following precautions when working on the machine: 1 Pull the plug out of the wall socket. 2 Check whether the possibly loosened earth connections are functioning properly again. 3 Obey the general security instructions (1.2). In case it is necessary to replace certain parts, please contact your dealer. When replacing parts, use only original (spare) parts, supplied by Veromatic International B.V. These comply with the strict quality requirements that assure that the machine keeps functioning optimally. If non-original parts are being used, the warranty becomes void, and Veromatic International B.V. will not be liable for possibly resulting damage(s). 23 Options In this chapter the options that can be added to this machine, or are already on it in order to serve your wishes even better, will be listed. Your dealer can further inform you about these possibilities. The building in of the options below may only be done by your dealer. 8.1 Payment systems The machine is prepared for various payment systems. Your dealer can inform you about the latest developments in this field. Generally it applies that, before dispensing a drink, first a payment has to be made. In case there is the need that some users are exempted from this payment obligation (e.g. the operator who may pour a jug for free), this can be made possible by attaching a key switch (see also the next item). 8.2 Key switch The key switch is meant for: 1. Using the jugs function when the machine is switched to paid dispensing. 2. Enabling to fill a jug, when the machine is set to "Jug not possible when distributing for free”. 8.3 Lower cabinet The machine can be placed on a lower cabinet (see figure 8-1). The lower cabinet is equipped with a platform and can be used as a storage cupboard. The lower cabinet matches the design of your machine. At the same time the cabinet can be used as a storage cupboard. Your dealer can give you comprehensive information on this. 8.6 Water filter figure 8-2 Depending on the water quality, Veromatic International B.V. advises the use of a SaniWonder Pure™ water filter from SaniWonder. This filter will reduce among other things the calcification of the heating element and valves. This way the chances for malfunction are reduced. It also filters dirt, rust and sand particles from the water, as a result of which the coffee will taste and smell better. A separate filter is available for both the supply of hot water and the supply of the cooled water. Installation instructions: The maximum water pressure is 8.5 bar. Do not place the water filter in direct sunlight. Follow the instructions of the regional water supply company. сл AWN = where the water quality is unknown. Do not use chemical gaskets to fix the sockets. Teflon tape is allowed, though. Do not use the water filter in areas where the water is microbiologically unsafe, or in areas The water filter cartridge (ordering code: HL-00720) has to be replaced every six months, or every 30,000 consumptions (6,000 litres), depending on which criterion is reached first. 25 Decommissioning 9.1 Temporary decommissioning If the machine is not being used for a longer period of time (from approx. 4 weeks), the following measures should be taken by a service mechanic (because of hygiene): e Drain the boiler. e Empty the water tank, if available. e Empty the product containers (also manually empty the worm by turning it). e (Clean the machine thoroughly (see chapter Maintenance). To take the machine into operation again, see paragraph 9. If in hindsight it occurs that the machine has been out of use for a long period of time, the following has to be done by a service mechanic: e Drain the boiler. Refresh the water tank, if available. Empty the product containers (also manually empty the worm by turning it). Clean the machine thoroughly (see chapter Maintenance). To put the machine into operation again, see paragraph 9. 9.2 Discarding If the machine is discarded, the following has to be done by a service mechanic: e Drain the boiler. e Empty the water tank. e Empty the product containers (also manually empty the worm by turning it). e (Clean the machine thoroughly (see chapter Maintenance). e Make sure that the machine is complete. e Turn in the machine. If the machine is replaced by a new machine from Veromatic International B.V., the old one will be taken back by the supplier. For machines from Veromatic International B.V. a removal contribution has been paid. You may ask your supplier to collect the machine and to transport it to a specifically assigned return centre.
