How to manage users

How to invite a new user to your company

NOTE: Only Account Manager level users can invite new users.

Go to the My company view.

Open the company information.

Select Add new user .

Fill in the information for the new user. The fields that are marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.

NOTE: An email address can only be associated with one EcoStruxure Fire Expert account at a time.

Select the user role for the new user: Account Manager , Firesystem user , Back Office user , or Fire system designer .

FO administrator can give configuration rights.

Select Add .

EcoStruxure Fire Expert sends an invitation email to the new user. If you have already invited a user but need to resend the invitation email, select Resend invite .

How to assign user roles to existing users

NOTE: Only Account Manager level users can assign user roles.

Go to the My company view.

Open the company information.

Select the Manage icon for the user.

Select the user role for the user: Account Manager , Firesystem user , or Back Office user .

Select Save .

To add an FDP fire detection panel, connect an Ethernet cable to your fire detection panel.

Enter your fire detection panel’s identification UUID code into ExoStruxure Fire

Expert.

Go to the Systems view.

Select Add new system .

NOTE: The reference number for EcoStruxure Fire Expert FDP built in 3/4G modem is FFS00702579 with a SIM card and FFS00702580 without a SIM card.

Fill in the system name.

Fill in a group name, if you want.

You can use the group name to group the systems in the Systems view.

Example:

Here the system has “My FDP system” as the group name.

NOTE: The group names are case sensitive.

NOTE: The Ungrouped/Grouped selection is inactive if there are no group names.

Leave the 'Connected fire panel identifier' field empty to create a temporary identification UUID code.

Use the temporary identification UUID code to register an FDP system whose UUID is not yet known. Change the UUID later to the actual UUID.

Fill in the location information for the fire detection system.

10. Select Add .

NOTE: To find out the identification UUID code of your fire detection panel, go to Main menu > Settings > System status . Select Export identity to export the identity to a memory stick.

NOTE: When a system is added, it takes a couple of minutes before it is online.

How to buy a license

License information

Accounts that have a license assigned to a system can access all features of EcoStruxure

Fire Expert available to that system. Accounts without a license can only see the overview of a system but not the possible faults and disablements. Configuration is possible without a license.

To buy a license, you need to have a subscription. If your account does not have a subscription, you need to add a subscription first.

The license activates immediately and can be used after purchase. The license will be invoiced later.

How to add a subscription

Select Licenses . A list of subscriptions and licenses of your company opens.

In the Subscriptions list, select Add subscription .

Fill in the information for a new subscription.

Select Save .

When you have saved the new subscription, select Back to go back to the Subscriptions .

How to add a license

NOTE: To add a license, you need a subscription. If you do not have a subscription yet, refer to Section

for instructions.

In the Subscriptions list, select the correct subscription under the name of your company.

In the Licensing view, select Add licenses .

Use the + and buttons to select the license(s) to be added:

When you have added as many licenses as you need, fill in the Purchase reference .

Select Buy and confirm to buy the licenses.

License(s) added appears on the display.

When you have saved the new licenses, select Back to go back to the Licensing view.

Added licenses re-new automatically every year. If you want to disable the autorenew function, select Disable auto-renew . If auto-renew is disabled, the license is still valid until the end of the one-year period.

Assign the license to a system to use it.

How to assign a license to a system

Go to the Systems view.

Select Licenses of the system you want to license.

Select the license(s) that you want to activate.

The licenses that you can select have a green Select button.

Select the subscription for which you want to assign the license.

The license is now assigned to the fire detection system.

How to manage end-user companies

Fire Detection Company managing their end users

The fire detection company Account Manager can invite and accept end-user organizations to EcoStruxure Fire Expert. The invited company will be of end-user type by default and linked to your company.

The end-user company can buy licenses for their own use. The fire detection company

Back Office user can see in the Customer Care view the licenses and approve them for billing.

The fire detection company Account Manager can see in the Licensing view the end-user company subscription and the licenses assigned to it.

How to invite a new company

NOTE: Only fire detection company Account Manager level users can invite new companies.

Go to the My company view.

Select Invite new company .

Fill in the information for the company and the first admin user.

NOTE: An email address can only be associated with one EcoStruxure Fire Expert account at a time.

Select Save & Invite . EcoStruxure Fire Expert sends an invitation email to the admin user of the invited company.

The invited company is instantly confirmed. The invited admin user can now access the

EcoStruxure Fire Expert.

End-user purchase approval process

When an end user purchases licenses for a system, a two week approval period starts during which the licenses are fully functional.

If you accept the purchase during this period, the licenses will go to the normal status and continue to function normally. You will be invoiced for the licenses.

If you do not accept the purchase within two weeks, the licenses become inactive and will no longer work.

Accepting the purchase after two weeks activates the licenses again.

If you reject the purchase, the licenses will be detached from the system.

How to manage the purchases of your end-users

NOTE: Only Back Office user level users can access the Customer Care view.

Go to the Customer Care view.

The purchases are under the Waiting and Done headings.

In the Waiting list, select the green arrow to open the purchase details.

If you accept the purchase, fill in your own reference number.

Select Complete .

The purchase moves to the Done list.

If you do not accept the purchase, write the reason for the rejection.

Select Reject to reject the purchase.

The license is detached from the system.

NOTE: You cannot buy licenses on behalf of the end user. You can buy licenses only for your own company.

How to view the status of end-user licenses

NOTE: Only Account Manager level users can view the licenses.

A status icon shows the status of the subscription.

Symbol Meaning

The purchase has been approved, the license is active.

The purchase is waiting for approval. The license is active, but it will be deactivated if the purchase is not approved by the given date, or if it is rejected.

The purchase was not approved by the given date. The license is deactive until the purchase is approved.

End-user subscriptions are visible in the Licensing view as Default subscription for the end-user company.

In the Licensing view, select the subscription of the end-user company.

The subscription information and the list of licenses opens.

If the license waits for approval, the deadline shows on the right.

If the license is approved by the Front Office, a green Disable auto-renew button shows on the right.

If you want to disable the auto-renew function, select Disable auto-renew .

How to view your fire detection systems

Introduction

In the Systems view, you can see all your fire detection systems and their status. You can use the search tool or the tabs ( all, online, and offline ) to filter your fire detection panels:

If a fire detection system is offline, you see a grey crossed circle indicating offline status, and information on when the system was last updated:

NOTE: If your fire detection system is offline, make sure that you followed the installation instructions in Chapter

correctly.

If you use group names for your systems, the systems that have a group name are listed first.

How to view the system status

In the Systems view, select the fire detection system you want to view:

In the System monitor view, EcoStruxure Fire Expert shows the system status, and the number of active alarms, faults, disablements, and test alarms in the fire detection panels.

You can group the results by Loop or Zone. You can filter the results by panels, faults or disablements.

If there is an active session, the user and access levels show on the display:

You can view the status of your fire detection system also with a mobile device.

How to view possible faults and disablements

You can view the active faults and disablements in the System monitor view. The icons in the panels show the number of active faults and disablements.

If your fire detection system does not have any active faults or disablements, no fire detection panels are listed.

All connected fire detection panels send updates to EcoStruxure Fire Expert once every 60 seconds. EcoStruxure Fire Expert automatically refreshes the data on the screen.

How to group and filter the active faults and disablements

Group the findings by addressable detection loop ( Loop ) or detection zone ( Zone ).

• To filter the results, select which fire detection panel(s) you want to see.

You can filter the faults and disablements by type. The selected filters are listed in the view.

If there is no data to be shown with the selected filter(s), no fire detection panels are listed.

How to add a comment for a fault or a disablement

Go to the fire detection panel that you want to see.

Select Comments in the fault/disablement you want to add a comment to.

Write your comment in the comment field.

Select Add comment .

How to view the event history

Information on old events is in the Event Wall view.

Select the Event Wall tab. A list of the past events in that fire detection system opens:

How to download an event report

In the Event wall view, select the calendar icon.

Select the start date from the calendar.

Select the end date from the calendar.

Select the start date again to de-select the selection. Select the end date again to select another end date.

Select the start and end time (in 1 h steps) with the sliders.

Select Test alarms or All events .

Select Export CSV to create the report.

The report is created in Microsoft Excel.

How to add comments in the Event wall view

Select the Event wall tab.

To add a new site comment, write your comment in the comment field.

To access the system monitor functions, go to the Systems view and select the fire detection system you want to view:

How to disable addresses and zones

NOTE: To do this action, you must have a relevant license.

There are two options to disable an address:

•

You can disable the address until you enable it again.

You can use a timer to disable the address for a certain time period.

When disabled, no alarms will be generated from that address.

Go to the System monitor view of the system where the address is.

Go to the address you want to disable.

To disable an address, select Disable address .

To enable the address, select Enable address .

Optionally, select + Add timer to disable the address for a maximum of 12 hours.

Use the + and – buttons to set the timer in steps of 30 minutes.

Select Clear timer to cancel the action.

Select Disable with timer to start the timer.

The timer starts immediately.

To stop the timer before the set time, select Enable address .

10. To disable a zone, go to the zone view.

How to change the zone of an address

NOTE: To do this action, you must have a relevant license.

NOTE: The configuration in EcoStruxure Fire Expert and in the fire detection panel must be the same.

You can change the zone of an address without opening the configuration. The configuration is updated and the new version is sent to the fire detection panel on the fly.

In the Systems view, select the fire detection system that you want to update.

Select the address that you want to update.

Select Edit address .

Change the zone number.

NOTE: The zone that you select must exist. To create a new zone, you must edit the whole configuration. For instructions, refer to the EcoStruxure Fire Expert

Configuration manual.

Select Save to save the changes.

How to change the customer text

NOTE: To do this action, you must have a relevant license.

NOTE: The configuration in EcoStruxure Fire Expert and in the fire detection panel must be the same.

You can change the customer text of an address without opening the configuration. The configuration is updated and the new version is sent to the fire detection panel on the fly.

In the Systems view, select the fire detection system that you want to update.

Change the customer text.

Select Save to save the changes.

How to activate the zone test mode

Go to the System Monitor view.

Group the results by Zone .

Select the detection zone that you want to set to the test mode.

Select Activate test mode .

The detection zone is now in the test mode.

To deactivate the test mode, select the zone and then select Deactivate test mode .

How to create test alarms

When the zone is in the test mode, select the detector you want to test.

NOTE: You can create test alarms for detectors only.

Select Activate alarm .

Wait until the test alarm is generated.

NOTE: Do not deactivate the test mode while the test alarm is generated.

Repeat steps 1-3 to all the detectors that you want to test.

Test Alarms are shown in the System Monitor view.

To see the details, select the zone (or loop, depending on the grouping of results) and address where the active alarm is.

10.5 How to create test alarms .

Select Reset alarms to deactivate the test alarms.

Wait until the system resets the test alarms.

When you have finished the test, go to the System Monitor view and select

Deactivate test mode .

How to activate an alarm

NOTE: To do this action, you must have a relevant license, an active session, and be logged in as a Normal or Premium user, access level 3 or 4.

NOTE: You can activate alarms only for detectors.

This action will set an actual fire alarm. For instructions on how to set a test alarm, refer to

Go to the System monitor view of the system where the address is.

Open the address.

A fire alarm is activated in the detector.

The system shows an active fire alarm.

Select Silence alarms to silence all alarms in the system.

Select Re-sound alarms to re-sound the silenced alarms.

Select Reset alarms to reset all alarms in the system.

How to activate the LED in an address

NOTE: The commissioning and testing package license is required for this action.

Go to the System monitor view.

Go to the address you want to test.

Select Activate led .

The LED in the selected address is lit.

Select Deactivate led to end the test.

This action can also be done with a mobile device.

How to activate an output test

NOTE: To do this action, you must have a relevant license, an active session, and be logged in as a Normal or Premium user, access level 3 or 4.

NOTE: The address must have a configured output function.

Go to the System monitor view of the system where the address is.

Open the address.

To test the outputs, select Activate output test .

If the device in the selected address has an output LED, the LED is lit.

Select Deactivate output test to end the test.

How to use the fire orientation map feature

Introduction to the fire orientation map feature

NOTE: You need the Fire orientation map license (FFS00704006) to use the fire orientation map feature.

With the orientation map, you can see the layout of the site as a map. The map shows the addresses as icons. Possible faults and disablements show on the map as icons with different colors.

To access the orientation map, go to the Systems view and select the fire detection system you want to view:

Select Map to open the Map view.

NOTE: You must have a license to use the fire orientation map feature. If you do not have a license, the Map tab is not active.

How to add an orientation map

Go to the Map view.

Select the + icon

Give a name for the site plan.

Click anywhere outside the name field to save the name.

The site plan is added.

Add sub-site plans to the site plan, as necessary.

NOTE: You can only add and delete site plans and sub-site plans, you cannot change the site map structure later. Therefore, make sure that you add the structure correctly.

How to add sub-site plans

Go to the Map view.

Move the cursor over the site plan for which you want to add a sub-site plan.

The Settings icon appears.

Select the Settings icon.

Select Add site plan .

Give a name for the sub-site plan.

Click anywhere outside the name field to save the name.

The sub-site plan is added.

NOTE: The site map structure cannot be changed later so make sure that you add the structure correctly. You can only add and delete site plans and sub-site plans.

How to edit the orientation map

To edit the site plan or sub-site plan, move the cursor over the name of the site plan or sub-site plan.

The Settings icon appears.

Select the Settings icon.

Select Edit name to change the name of the site plan or sub-site plan.

Select Upload image to add a picture to the site plan or sub-site plan.

The maximum allowed size for the picture is 5 MB. The preferred format for the picture is SVG, but also JPEG and PNG graphics are allowed.

Select Add site plan to add a sub-site plan to the site plan or sub-site plan.

To edit the content of the orientation map, select the site plan or sub-site plan from the left.

The orientation map opens. If you already added a picture, it shows in the middle.

Use the mouse to scroll the image larger or smaller, if necessary. The available addresses are listed on the right.

Select the Edit map button.

The map opens in edit mode.

NOTE: When you select the Edit map button, all of the existing site plans and subsite plans go into the edit mode. The user interface asks you to save the current edited floor plan before you can start to edit the next one.

To add addresses to the map, select the + icon next to the address you want to add.

The address is added to the top-left corner of the map.

Drag and drop the address to the correct place in the map.

10. Drag and drop all the necessary addresses to the map.

To delete an address from the map, select the – icon next to the address you want to delete.

How to view the orientation map

Go to the Map view.

Select the site plan you want to view.

Use the mouse to scroll the image larger or smaller, or to move the picture in the view, if necessary.

The map shows the addresses as icons. Possible faults and disablements show on the map as icons with different colors. For example, the disablements show as blue icons.

For details on possible faults and disablements, select the address on the map.

You can enable or disable addresses from the map.

Select Zones to view the descriptions of the zones.
