Introduction to EcoStruxure Fire Expert
1.1
EcoStruxure Fire Expert
EcoStruxureTM Fire Expert is an online application for the efficient management of Esmi
Sense FDP fire detection systems. EcoStruxure Fire Expert allows you to remotely monitor
and manage multiple fire detection systems.
You do not need to install any software - access the application online at ecostruxure-fireexpert.se.app. EcoStruxure Fire Expert supports computers, mobile phones and tablets.
The minimum supported resolution for desktop use is 1920 x 1080. For details, see Tables
1: EcoStruxure Fire Expert compatible browsers and 2: EcoStruxure Fire Expert platform
support.

Licenses
You need a license to use EcoStruxure Fire Expert. Licenses are either user-specific or
system-specific. All licenses are valid until they are revoked. The billing cycle is one (1)
year.

How to start to use EcoStruxure Fire Expert
To access EcoStruxure Fire Expert, you must get an invitation from your fire detection
system administrator (if EcoStruxure Fire Expert is already in use in your location), or from
a Schneider Electric representative. For more information, refer to Chapter 4.1 Set up the
user account.

User levels and user rights
EcoStruxure Fire Expert has four user roles: Firesystem User, Fire system designer,
Account Manager and Back Office user. User rights depend on the chosen user level.

4.1
Set up the user account
To access EcoStruxure Fire Expert, ask for an invitation from your fire detection system
administrator (if EcoStruxure Fire Expert is already in use in your location) or from a
Schneider Electric representative. You will then receive an invitation email from
[email protected].

Activate your user account
1.
Follow the link in the invitation email to activate your account.

EcoStruxure Fire Expert opens.
3.
Fill in your personal information.

Select the language to be used in FDP configuration and other functions (English as
default).

Create a password.

Agree to accept the privacy policy and license terms and conditions of EcoStruxure
Fire Expert.

When you are ready, select Save.
NOTE: If you are the first admin user in your company, Fire Expert asks you to also
complete your company information when you activate your user account.

NOTE:
You must have the Push notification license to receive push notifications.
Push notifications are device-specific. Select Subscribe in the device where you want to
get the notifications.
Only mobile devices with an Android operating system are supported.

If you selected push notifications, select Allow in the pop-up window to allow
EcoStruxure Fire Expert to send notifications to your device.
6.
Select Receive notifications to email to receive email notifications.
7.
Select the notification filters.
NOTE: You can select filters separately for all of your fire detection systems.

If you are a certified user, you can purchase a personal Premium user license under
Licenses.
To purchase the license, select the license and then select Purchase.

To add an FDP fire detection panel, connect an Ethernet cable to your fire detection
panel.

Enter your fire detection panel’s identification UUID code into ExoStruxure Fire
Expert.

You can use the group name to group the systems in the Systems view.
Example:
Here the system has “My FDP system” as the group name.
NOTE: The group names are case sensitive.
NOTE: The Ungrouped/Grouped selection is inactive if there are no group names.

Leave the 'Connected fire panel identifier' field empty to create a temporary
identification UUID code.
Use the temporary identification UUID code to register an FDP system whose UUID
is not yet known. Change the UUID later to the actual UUID.

Fill in the location information for the fire detection system.
10. Select Add.
NOTE: To find out the identification UUID code of your fire detection panel, go to Main
menu > Settings > System status. Select Export identity to export the identity to a
memory stick.
NOTE: When a system is added, it takes a couple of minutes before it is online.

7.1
License information
Accounts that have a license assigned to a system can access all features of EcoStruxure
Fire Expert available to that system. Accounts without a license can only see the overview
of a system but not the possible faults and disablements. Configuration is possible without
a license.
To buy a license, you need to have a subscription. If your account does not have a
subscription, you need to add a subscription first.
The license activates immediately and can be used after purchase. The license will be
invoiced later.

Select Licenses. A list of subscriptions and licenses of your company opens.

In the Subscriptions list, select Add subscription.

Added licenses re-new automatically every year. If you want to disable the autorenew function, select Disable auto-renew. If auto-renew is disabled, the license is
still valid until the end of the one-year period.

Fire Detection Company managing their end users
The fire detection company Account Manager can invite and accept end-user
organizations to EcoStruxure Fire Expert. The invited company will be of end-user type by
default and linked to your company.
The end-user company can buy licenses for their own use. The fire detection company
Back Office user can see in the Customer Care view the licenses and approve them for
billing.
The fire detection company Account Manager can see in the Licensing view the end-user
company subscription and the licenses assigned to it.

NOTE: Only fire detection company Account Manager level users can invite new
companies.

Fill in the information for the company and the first admin user.

NOTE: An email address can only be associated with one EcoStruxure Fire Expert

Select Save & Invite. EcoStruxure Fire Expert sends an invitation email to the admin
user of the invited company.
The invited company is instantly confirmed. The invited admin user can now access the
EcoStruxure Fire Expert.
8.3
End-user purchase approval process
When an end user purchases licenses for a system, a two week approval period starts
during which the licenses are fully functional.
If you accept the purchase during this period, the licenses will go to the normal status and
continue to function normally. You will be invoiced for the licenses.

If you do not accept the purchase within two weeks, the licenses become inactive and will
no longer work.
Accepting the purchase after two weeks activates the licenses again.
If you reject the purchase, the licenses will be detached from the system.

How to manage the purchases of your end-users
NOTE: Only Back Office user level users can access the Customer Care view.

Go to the Customer Care view.
The purchases are under the Waiting and Done headings.

In the Waiting list, select the green arrow to open the purchase details.

If you accept the purchase, fill in your own reference number.

The purchase moves to the Done list.

If you do not accept the purchase, write the reason for the rejection.

Select Reject to reject the purchase.
The license is detached from the system.
NOTE: You cannot buy licenses on behalf of the end user. You can buy licenses only for
your own company.

How to view the status of end-user licenses
NOTE: Only Account Manager level users can view the licenses.
A status icon shows the status of the subscription.

Symbol
Meaning
The purchase has been approved, the license is active.
The purchase is waiting for approval. The license is active, but it will be
deactivated if the purchase is not approved by the given date, or if it is rejected.
The purchase was not approved by the given date. The license is deactive until
the purchase is approved.
End-user subscriptions are visible in the Licensing view as Default subscription for the
end-user company.

The subscription information and the list of licenses opens.
If the license waits for approval, the deadline shows on the right.
If the license is approved by the Front Office, a green Disable auto-renew button
shows on the right.

9.1
Introduction
In the Systems view, you can see all your fire detection systems and their status. You can
use the search tool or the tabs (all, online, and offline) to filter your fire detection panels:

If a fire detection system is offline, you see a grey crossed circle indicating offline status,
and information on when the system was last updated:

NOTE: If your fire detection system is offline, make sure that you followed the installation
instructions in Chapter 6 How to add a fire detection system correctly.
If you use group names for your systems, the systems that have a group name are listed
first.
You can view your fire detection system also with a mobile device.

In the System monitor view, EcoStruxure Fire Expert shows the system status, and the
number of active alarms, faults, disablements, and test alarms in the fire detection panels.
You can group the results by Loop or Zone. You can filter the results by panels, faults or
disablements.
If there is an active session, the user and access levels show on the display:

You can view the active faults and disablements in the System monitor view. The icons in
the panels show the number of active faults and disablements.

If your fire detection system does not have any active faults or disablements, no fire
detection panels are listed.
All connected fire detection panels send updates to EcoStruxure Fire Expert once every 60
seconds. EcoStruxure Fire Expert automatically refreshes the data on the screen.
9.3.1
How to group and filter the active faults and disablements
•
Group the findings by addressable detection loop (Loop) or detection zone (Zone).
•
To filter the results, select which fire detection panel(s) you want to see.
You can filter the faults and disablements by type. The selected filters are listed in the view.

Introduction to system monitor functions
NOTE: Only Firesystem User level users can access the system monitor functions.
To access the system monitor functions, go to the Systems view and select the fire
detection system you want to view:

How to disable addresses and zones
NOTE: To do this action, you must have a relevant license.
There are two options to disable an address:

You can disable the address until you enable it again.
You can use a timer to disable the address for a certain time period.
When disabled, no alarms will be generated from that address.

Go to the address you want to disable.

Introduction to the fire orientation map feature
NOTE: You need the Fire orientation map license (FFS00704006) to use the fire
orientation map feature.
With the orientation map, you can see the layout of the site as a map. The map shows the
addresses as icons. Possible faults and disablements show on the map as icons with
different colors.
To access the orientation map, go to the Systems view and select the fire detection system
you want to view:

How to edit the orientation map

To edit the site plan or sub-site plan, move the cursor over the name of the site plan
or sub-site plan.
The Settings icon appears.
2.
Select the Settings icon.
3.
Select Edit name to change the name of the site plan or sub-site plan.

Select Upload image to add a picture to the site plan or sub-site plan.
The maximum allowed size for the picture is 5 MB. The preferred format for the
picture is SVG, but also JPEG and PNG graphics are allowed.

Introduction to the contamination feature
NOTE: You need a license to use the contamination feature.
Dirt collects in the detectors over time. In a dirty (dusty) environment, dirt collects faster
than in a cleaner environment. With the contamination feature, you can see the
contamination percentage of the detectors in one view. When the contamination
percentage rises, change the dirty detectors.
To access the contamination feature, go to the Systems view and select the fire detection
system you want to view.

1.
Go to the Contamination view.

Select the panels to be included.

The view changes according to the selections. The single addresses show at the
bottom of the columns.

The data is available in different charts, export the report in CSV format to Microsoft
Excel.
NOTE: If there is no data that meets the criteria, the view is empty.

Select Export CSV to export the report to Microsoft Excel.

Select the arrow next to the address at the bottom of the Contamination view to
access the contamination graph of a single address.
The data for the selected address opens.

View the latest administrative events of your system

Go to the Systems view.
2.
Find the fire detection system you want to manage and select Manage.
The Manage system view opens. Now you can view or edit the administrative details
of your fire detection system.

Configuration manual.

How to share access with or transfer ownership to someone
outside your organization
NOTE: You can only share access with or transfer ownership to a firesystem level user of
another Fire Expert account.
If you share access to your fire detection system with another organization, you still have
full control and ownership of your fire detection system

If you transfer the ownership of your fire detection system to another organization, you
no longer have access to it, unless the new owner shares access with you.

Select Share system access.
3.
Complete the field for the e-mail address of the target organization’s admin user.
4.
Select Share rights.
When you share access with someone outside your organization, they receive an email
notification. The change comes into effect after they log on to EcoStruxure Fire Expert and
accept the shared access. You can remove the shared access anytime in the Manage
system view.

How to transfer the ownership of your fire detection system
1.
Go to the Manage system view.
2.
Select Transfer system ownership.
3.
Complete the field for the email address of the target organization’s admin user.
4.
Select Change ownership.
When you transfer ownership to someone outside your organization, they receive an email notification. The change comes into effect after they log on to EcoStruxure Fire Expert
and accept the ownership transfer. You can cancel the ownership transfer change only if
the new owner has not yet accepted the ownership transfer.
