When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons. Misuse or failure to follow these warnings and instructions may cause overheating, fire, personal injury and/or property damage:

1. Be sure to read carefully all instructions before using this heated product.

2. Do not use this heated product with an infant, child, incapacitated or immobile person, paraplegic or quadriplegic, a diabetic, anyone insensitive to heat, such as a person with poor blood circulation, or anyone who cannot clearly understand the instructions and/or operate the controls.

3. Do not tuck in, pinch, flex or expose the wired heating area of this heated product.

4. Do not route electrical cords between the mattress and box spring. Do not allow the cords to be pinched. Do not use with damaged cords. Damaged cords can lead to overheating or fire.

5. Keep the control away from drafty areas that may become damp or wet such as an open window.

6. Do not use pins or other metallic means – They may damage the electric wiring.

7. Do not use if wet. If a spill occurs, turn heated product off, unplug, and dry before re-using.

8. Controller is not waterproof. Do not immerse in water or other liquids.

9. Be sure that this heated product is used only on an AC supply circuit of the proper voltage. Do not use with an extension cord. Do not use with generators, power converters or inverters.

10. Turn off or unplug this heated product when not in use.

11. Excessive heating may result from folding or bunching this heated product while in use.

12. Examine the heated product, cord and controller before each use for signs of wear or damage. If improper operation, wear or damage is observed, discontinue its use immediately, unplug it, and call at 1-877-383-

6399.

13. For throw blankets and back/body pads only: Do not use with rocking chairs, recliners, chairs with casters or wheels, or other furniture subject to movement.

14. Do not use this heated product on a waterbed, bunk bed, mechanically adjustable bed or a child’s crib/bed.

15. Do not use in conjunction with another electrically heated product.

16. Do not tuck in the supply cord or control in a sofa or other furniture. All portions of this heated product should be visible at all times.

17. Wrapping of cord around the controller may damage the cord. Loop loosely when storing. Allow to cool before storing and do not crease by placing items on top of it. Store in the original packaging, in a cool, dark, dry place.

18. Do not dry clean this heated product. Cleaning solvents may damage the insulation of the heating element.

Improper laundering may cause problems with the heating wire, which can lead to fire.

19. Keep all dogs, cats and other pets away from this heated product. This is an electrical appliance that they can damage or be injured by.

20. If provided with a detachable controller, use only with the provided controller.

21. Do not use this heated product with analgesic creams, liniments, salve or ointment preparations. Skin burns could result.

22. Check with your healthcare provider before using with a pacemaker or any medical devices.

23. Not for hotel, motel, hospital or other institutional use.

NORTH AMERICAN MODELS WITH POLARIZED PLUGS:

POLARIZED PLUG

This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way. If the plug fits loosely into the AC outlet or if the AC outlet feels warm do not use that outlet.

Heated Blanket and Mattress Pad Setup

When setting up your heated blanket/mattress pad, be sure to follow the steps below in order.

1. Place the heated blanket/mattress pad on the bed with the label at the foot of the bed facing upward.

2. Connect the cord into the module at the bottom of the heated blanket/mattress pad until the plastic hinges click into place.

CAUTION: Cord must be COMPLETELY CONNECTED. A risk of fire could result from a loose connection.

3. Run the control cord on the floor under the bed. Do not sandwich cord between the mattress and box spring. Avoid any tangling or pinching.

4. Plug power cord into a 110-120 volt wall outlet.

CAUTION: Do not use with generator power or inverter.

USING YOUR CONTROL

1. To turn the control on, press the “On/Off” button.

2. Turn the dial to the desired heat level.

3. To turn the heated blanket OFF, press the “On/Off“ button.

CAUTION: ALWAYS turn the heated blanket/mattress pad “OFF” when not in use.

Auto-Off Feature:

The “Auto-Off” feature is designed for conservation of energy by automatically turning your blanket or mattress pad off after 10 hours of continuous use.

Note: After a power outage, the “Auto-Off” feature automatically resets the timer.

For Dual Controls:

Each control operates independently and will turn off 10 hours after the control is turned “On”.

To restart all heated products after a power failure: Press the power button and the heated product will begin to warm.

CARE AND CLEANING OF YOUR HEATED BEDDING PRODUCT

CAUTION: Do not dry clean. Do not use bleach. Do not use wringer. Do not iron. Do not immerse control or cord in water or other liquids. Do not use mothballs or sprays of any kind. Do not reconnect the heated product until it is completely dry.

We recommend washing before initial use.

Before Washing or Storing Your Heated Bedding Product

1. Disconnect power cord from wall BEFORE detaching control cord from the heated product.

2. Disconnect the controller cord from the connector. Squeeze the connector’s hinges on both sides to unplug easily.

3. Ensure that no cords are still connected and none of the wires have worn through the fabric.

4. Carefully follow all washing instructions or your heated product may shrink and possibly cause a fire hazard.

Washing Instructions

1. Machine wash in cold water, gentle cycle or hand wash.

Caution: Do not use commercial dryers or the dryers at your local laundromat. They get too hot and would damage the wiring of the heated product.

2. Tumble dry low, delicate cycle.

3. Remove the blanket/mattress pad while still damp and gently stretch to its original size.

4. Drape the heated product over a clothesline or a shower rod. DO NOT use clothespins

5. Heated product must be COMPLETELY dry before reconnecting the power plug or control plug.

Hang to Dry

1. While still damp, gently stretch the blanket/mattress pad back to its original size.

2. Drape the heated product over a clothesline or hang over a shower rod. DO NOT use clothespins.

3. Heated product must be COMPLETELY dry before reconnecting the power plug or control plug.

5-Year Limited Warranty

This device has a limited warranty of 5 year from the original date of purchase against workmanship and defects in material. If under normal use, your product fails to operate, please contact our customer service department at [email protected]. A refund or replacement will be provided to you with proof of purchase. Star Elite Inc. may deny claims of damage caused by misuse or modifications of this product.

2. N’utilisez pas ce produit chauffant sur bébé, enfant, personne handicapée ou impotente, paraplégique ou

tétraplégique, diabétique, insensible à la chaleur (avec mauvaise circulation sanguine, par exemple), ou

quiconque ne peut ni comprendre les instructions ni manier les commandes.

3. Ne bordez pas, ne pincez pas, ne pliez pas l’article et ne mettez pas le fil chauffant à découvert.

4. N’acheminez pas les cordons entre le matelas et le sommier et veillez à ce qu’ils ne soient pas coincés.

13. Couvertures de fantaisie et coussinets : ne les employez pas avec berceuses, fauteuils inclinables, fauteuils

roues ou roulettes ou autres meubles aptes au déplacement.

14. Ne l’utilisez pas sur lit d’eau, lit superposé, lit articulé à commande mécanique, berceau ou lit d’enfant.

15. Ne l’utilisez pas en même temps qu’un autre article de literie électrique.

16. N’insérez ni le cordon ni la commande dans sofa ou autre meuble. Tout le produit doit être visible.

17. Enrouler le cordon autour de la commande peut l’abîmer (faites des grosses boucles pour le ranger).

Laissez-le préalablement refroidir et ne marquez pas les plis en posant quoi que ce soit dessus. Replacez-le

dans son emballage d’origine, dans un lieu sombre, frais et sec.

18. Ne faites pas nettoyer cet article de literie à sec, les solvants pourraient abîmer la matière isolante de

l’élément. Un lavage inapproprié peut nuire à l’élément et entraîner un risque d’incendie.

19. Éloignez les chiens, chats et autres animaux de compagnie de ce produit de literie chauffant, un

appareil électrique qu’ils peuvent abîmer et qui peut les blesser.

20. Si la commande de l’article est amovible, employez uniquement la commande fournie.

21. Ne vous servez pas du produit chauffant de concert avec crème analgésique, liniment, baume ou pommade,

FICHE POLARISÉE

Cet appareil est équipé d’une fiche polarisée (une lame est plus large que l’autre). Pour réduire le risque de choc électrique, elle ne s’enfonce dans les prises polarisées que dans un sens.

Si elle ne pénètre pas bien dans la prise, retournez-la. Si elle ne rentre toujours pas, faites changer la prise par un électricien agréé. Ne tentez de modifier la fiche en aucune façon.

Si la fiche s’enfonce dans la prise sans s’assujettir fermement ou bien si la prise de courant alternatif vous semble chaude, ne vous servez pas de cette prise.

ATTENTION: Ne branchez le cordon d’alimentation principal sur la prise de courant qu’une fois le produit chauffant étalé conformément aux instructions.

MISE EN PLACE D’UNE COUVERTURE OU D’UN COUVRE-MATELAS

Lors de la mise en place d’une couverture ou d’un couvre-matelas, observez les directives ci-dessus dans l’ordre donné.

1. Étalez l’article sur le lit, repérez et placez l’étiquette au pied du lit étant à l’extérieur.

2. Reliez le cordon au module de la couverture ou du couvre-matelas, jusqu’à ce que les charnières se fixent.

ATTENTION : le cordon doit être PARFAITEMENT CONNECTÉ sinon il y aurait risque d’incendie.

3. Acheminez le cordon de la commande par terre, sous le lit. N’acheminez pas les cordons entre le matelas et le sommier et veillez à ce qu’ils ne soient pas coincés.

4. Branchez le cordon d’alimentation sur une prise murale de 110-120 volt.

ATTENTION : ne l’alimentez pas sur courant de génératrice ou d’onduleur.

UTILISATION DE LA COMMANDE DE LA COUVERTURE OU DU COUVRE-MATELAS

Utilisation de la commande :

1. Pour la mettre en marche, appuyez simplement sur le bouton « On/Off » (marche-arrêt).

2. Tournez le cadran au niveau de temperature desiree.

3. Pour éteindre l’article chauffant, appuyez de nouveau sur le bouton « On/Off » (marche-arrêt).

ATTENTION : ÉTEIGNEZ toujours la couverture électrique lorsqu’elle ne sert pas.

Fonction arrêt automatique : conserve l’énergie, éteint automatiquement la couverture après 10 heures d’emploi continu.

Remarque : après une coupure de courant, la fonction « arrêt automatique » réinitialise automatiquement le minuteur.

Pour deux commandes : chacune fonctionne indépendamment et chauffe seulement un côté la couverture.

Pour rallumer les articles chauffants après une panne de courant, pressez l’interrupteur et ils recommenceront à chauffer.

NETTOYAGE ET ENTRETIEN DE L’ARTICLE DE LITERIE CHAUFFANT

ATTENTION : ne nettoyez pas l’article à sec. Ne le javellisez pas. Ne vous servez pas d’une laveuse-essoreuse à rouleaux. Ne le repassez pas.

Ne plongez pas la commande dans l’eau ou dans un autre liquide. N’employez ni boules antimites ni produits vaporisés, quels qu’ils soient. Ne rebranchez l’article chauffant que lorsqu’il est absolument sec.

Nous vous conseillons de laver l’article avant son utilisation initiale.

AVANT DE LAVER OU DE RANGER L’ARTICLE DE LITERIE CHAUFFANT

1. Débranchez le cordon à la prise AVANT de séparer le cordon de la commande du produit chauffant.

2. Vérifiez que tous les cordons sont débranchés et qu’aucun des fils n’a transpercé le tissu.

3. Suivez les instructions de lavage au pied de la lettre afin que l’article ne rétrécisse pas et ne cause pas de risque d’incendie.

INSTRUCTIONS DE LAVAGE

1. Lavez l’article à la machine à l’eau froide, au cycle délicat, ou lavez-le à la main.

ATTENTION : n’utilisez ni sécheuse commerciale ni sécheuse de buanderie car le niveau de température élevé de ces machines abîmerait les fils électriques.

SÉCHAGE À L’AIR

1. Faites sécher le produit par culbutage,à basse température, ou sur corde (instructions ci-dessous).

2. Retirez la couverture ou le couvre matelas de la sécheuse encore humide. Étirez le délicatement pour lui donner sa grandeur initiale.

3. Étendez l’article sur une corde à linge ou sur une tringle de douche, SANS utiliser d’épingles à linge.

4. Ne rebranchez le produit chauffant ou sa commande que lorsqu’il est COMPLÈTEMENT sec.

Ce produit est assorti d’une garantie limitée de 5 ans à compter de la date d’achat originale contre les défauts de fabrication et de matériaux. Si, dans des conditions normales d’utilisation, votre produit ne fonctionne plus, veuillez communiquer avec notre service à la clientèle à l’adresse suivante [email protected].
