Brush tool ASSEMBLY OF HANDLE <> Vertically insert the handle (8) into the upper port of handle support (A) located at the top of the main body, until it locks into place. Fill the Solution Tank + 4 > + > Pull upwards on solution tank handie (A) to remove solution tank (Fig. 4). Undo the filler cap (B) by turning anti-clockwise (Fig. 5). The filler cap also serves as a measuring cup. Pour one capfut (30ml) of the supplied carpet cleaner into the tank. NOTE: For more information on the type and quantity of carpet cleaning solution, see the last page of this manual. Fill the tank completely with hot tap water (below 55°C) and replace the filler cap. Place the tank back into appliance and press down firmly insuring the tank is positioned correctly. | Caution: Detergents may contain Anionic and Nonionic Surfactants. Avoid contact with the eye and skin. Empty the recovery tank + Unplug appliance from electrical outlet. + An automatic shut-off device prevents the extractor from picking up more dirty water than it can hold in the recovery tank. You will know the tank needs to be emptied » When the motor sound rises in pitch. e You do not see dirty solution coming up through the recovery tank lid. e The float (A) inside the recovery tank has risen to the top of the tank (Fig. 6) and is visible through the transparent tank. Step on the main body release pedal (B) and lower the body (Fig. 7) Unlock the recovery tank by pressing the release catch (C) (Fig 6) | Lift by tank lid handle (D) and remove (Fig 8) Press the button on the fid (E) (Fig. 9) to remove the tank lid then empty the tank. Repiace the lid, by first locating the lower hinged part (F) (Fig. 9) to the front of the tank and close lid. Lock the tank back into place insuring the button (C) (Fig. 8) has latched correctly. + Return main body to upright position. $ >. + + <> Caution: Make sure the catch is released before you lift up on tank lid!s Using the Hand-Held Vacuum Cleaner <> <> + > + Turn the two quick release cord holders (A) 180 degrees and remove the cord, Uniock the vacuum by sliding the release lever from right to left (B) (Fig. 10). Take out the hand-held vacuum (C) (Fig. 11) Take out the brush from accessory holder (D) (Fig. 11) and put the brush into the hand-held recovery tank until it locks in place (Fig. 12) Turn the appliance ON or OFF by pressing the ON/OFF switch (E) (Fig. 12). CC Empty the Hand-Held Recovery Tank + + + + Push the handle button (G), and then separate the hand-held recovery tank. (Fig. 13) Take out the bung (F). (Fig. 14 & 15) Empty the dirty water. Refit the handle to the hand-held recovery tank. 13) Reassembiing the Hand-held to the Main Body Ensure the release lever is in the unlocked position {fully to the left) and the main body is in the lowered position. Place the handheld vacuum intake into the nozzle of the main unit then pivot into place. Slide the release lever to the locked position (fully to the right). Finally pivot the main body upwards till it latches in the upright position. Cleaning Carpet 1. DON 10, Remove lightweight furniture (table, lamps, etc.) from area to be cleaned. Protect any remaining furniture by pinning up furniture skirts and placing aluminium foit or plastic under legs. Vacuum carpet thoroughly to remove loose dirty, hair, lint and other debris, Test cleaning solution for colorfastness by wetting a white cloth or paper towel with some cleaning solution and gentiy rub onto a hidden area of carpet. Wait ten minutes. Blot with white cloth or paper towel and check for color transfer. Retreat spots stains and high traffic areas with spray. Then proceed with the next cleaning steps. Fill solution tank with hot tap water and proper amount of detergent, | Turn the appliance ON or OFF by pressing the ON/OFF switch (A) (Fig. 16). Pull the trigger up (C) to release cleaning solution (Fig, 17). Push extractor forward slowly then pull it back siowly. Let go of trigger (C) (Fig. 17) and push extractor over same area to pick up dirty solution without putting down more solution. Continue using dry strokes until vou see only a little soiution coming up through the nozzie (front of extractor) or recovery tank. Do not make the carpet too wet! Use no more than two . sets of forward and backward strokes while releasing 11. solution. Always foliow with dry strokes; the more the better. Listen carefully! When the motor sound changes (rising in pitch), the recovery tank needs to be emptied. When - water has reached the maximum capacity in the 12. 13. recovery tank, the float will rise to the top of the tank and the extractor will not pick up dirty solution. Allow carpet to dry. Avoid walking on the carpet until it is dry. Increased air circulation (open doors, turn on fans, etc.) or use of a dehumidifier will help carpet dry thoroughly to prevent the growth of mold or mildew, Vacuum thoroughly after carpet has dried. Cleaning Upholstery 1. Check fabric-cieaning code. Look on the furniture manufacture's tag for a “W” or “WS” code. These codes indicate that it is all right to use your vacuum to cleaning to clean the upholstery. | Do not use the extractor on upholstery marked “S”, “X” or “Dry cleaning oniy”. | | 2. Test detergent for colorfastness on a hidden area of upholstery, 3. Weta white cloth or paper tower with some detergent. Gently rub onto a hidden area of upholstery. Wait ten minutes. Blot with white cloth or paper towel and check for color transfer. Treat spots and stains with Spray. Vacuum with the vacuum cleaner’s brush attachment. Hold the Hand-held and turn it ON (Fig. 18). Spray the cleaning solution on to the fabric and gently press brush into fabric and slowly pulf the over the fabric. . Do not get the upholstery too wet! . Allow upholstery to dry. NENE О CO After Use Always disconnect from the power supply when not in use. Always empty and rinse out the solution tank and recovery tanks after use, Remember to refit the filler cap to the “solution tank. Do not allow water to sit in any of the tanks when not in use. Cleaning Regularly clean the outside of the appliance with a soft damp cloth and dry with a dry towel. CAUTION: To prevent damage to the appliance do not use harsh solvents, abrasive cleansers ar scouring agents of any kind when cleaning. Damage Check Always check that the appliance is in good working order and that all removable parts are secure. Check the power supply cord and plug regularly for cuts or damage. Store in a Safe Place When not in use store your appliance and al} its accessories and instruction manual in a safe and dry place. The upper handle can fold down for easier storage by rotating the handle fold knob clockwise and lowering the handle. Carpet Cleaning Solution This carpet washer comes with a 300ml bottle of low foaming carpet cleaning solution, When you require replacement cleaning solution, use any commonly availably low foaming carpet cleaner, shampoo or detergent suitable for use in carpet extraction cleaning machines and follow the manufacturers instructions on the bottle. CAUTION: Do not use any solvents, cleaners with strong acidic or strong alkali formulas or any type of cleaning solution not specifically for use in carpet extraction cleaning machines. Using the supplied carpet cleaning solution: 1. Shake well before use, 2. Pour 15m! per litre (30ml per tank) into the solution tank. For heavier duty use, double the quantity of the solution accordingly. | 3. Always test cleaning solution for colourfastness by wetting a white cloth or paper towel with some cieaning solution and gentiy rub onto a hidden area of carpet, Wait ten minutes. Biot with white cloth or paper towel and check for colour transfer. CAUTION: Keep out of reach of children. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. As with all detergents, people with sensitive or damaged skin should avoid prolonged contact with the product. Ingredients: Less than 5% Non-ionic surfactants, Phosphates, Anionic surfactants, Polycarboxylates, MethyIchloroisothiazolinone, Methyiiscthiazolinone, Perfume, Benzyl Alcohol.
