3.2 Comparison with A Manager for PC
“A Manager” for PDA software has the same functions as “A Manager” for PC software. User interface has been redesigned to reproduce the same usage scheme of the PC desktop application, some differences and limitations are nevertheless present due to the small screen of the PDA. “A Manager” for PDA Software is not designed to work offline, only “
connected”
mode is allowed, Bluetooth
TM
or Infrared connection to the actuator is mandatory to operate with the PDA. Hence it is not possible
to modify previously saved configuration files
, nor it is possible
to load configuration files without sending them to an actuator
, as it can be done with “A Manager” for PC.
The PDA version does not use an internal database to save configurations, so it is only possible
to import and export
configurations from/to files. Actuator data files saved in the field by PDA can be copied in the PC memory by the
Microsoft ActiveSync tool (supplied with PDA) and then processed by the A Manager for PC. Vice-versa actuator data files present in the PC memory can be copied in the PDA memory by the Microsoft ActiveSync tool and then processed and downloaded to actuator by the A Manager for PDA..
Special version of PDA are available for application in hazardous area.
