Safety Warnings

• Before use, please read the user manual and safety warnings carefully, and make sure you understand and accept all the safety instructions. The user will be responsible for any loss or damage caused by improper use.

• To reduce the risk of injury, close supervision is necessary when the product is used near children.

• Do not put fingers or hands into the product.

• Do not use this product if the flexible power cord or output cable is frayed, has broken insulation, or any other signs of damage.

• Please check the drive system and frame before riding to ensure safety.

• Before each cycle of operation, the operator shall perform the preoperation checks specified by the manufacturer:

That all guards and pads originally supplied by the manufacturer are in proper place and in serviceable condition;

That the braking system is functioning properly; That any and all Haze guards, chain guards, or other covers or guards supplied by the manufacturer are in place and in serviceable condition; That tires are in good condition, inflated properly, and have sufficient tread remaining; The area that the product is to be operated should be safe and suitable for safe operation.

• Components shall be maintained and repaired in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and using only the manufacturer’s authorized replacement parts with installation performed by dealers or other skilled persons.

• Don’t allow hands, feet, hair, body parts, clothing, or similar articles to come in contact with moving parts, wheels, or drive train, while the bike is in use.

• This product should not be used by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction (IEC 60335-1/A2:2006).

• Unsupervised children should not play with the product (IEC 60335-1/A2:2006).

• Adult supervision is required.

• The rider should not exceed 120.2 kg (265 lb).

• Never use near motor vehicle.

• Units shall not be operated to perform racing, stunt riding, or other maneuvers, which may cause loss of control, or may cause uncontrolled operator/passenger actions or reactions.

• Avoid sharp bumps, drainage grates, and sudden surface changes. Bike may suddenly stop.

• Avoid streets and surfaces with water, sand, gravel, dirt, leaves, and other debris. Wet weather impairs traction, braking, and visibility.

• Avoid riding around flammable gas, steam, liquid, or dust that could cause fire.

• Operators shall adhere to all of the manufacturer’s recommendations and instructions, as well as comply with all laws and ordinances: Units without headlights shall be operated only with adequate daylight conditions of visibility, and; Owners shall be encouraged to highlight (for conspicuity) using lighting, reflectors, and for low-riding units, signal flags on flexible poles.

• Do not ride at night.

• Only ride the product with adequate daylight conditions for visibility.

• Persons with the following conditions shall be cautioned not to operate: Those with heart conditions; Pregnant women;

Persons with head, back, or neck ailments, or prior surgeries to those areas of the body; and persons with any mental or physical conditions that may make them susceptible to injury or impair their physical dexterity or mental capabilities to recognize, understand, and perform all of the safety instructions and to be able to assume the hazards inherent in unit use.

• Do not ride after drinking or taking prescription medication.

• Do not carry items when riding.

• Never operate the product while barefoot.

• Always wear shoes and keep shoelaces tied.

• Make sure your feet are always placed securely on the deck/pedal.

• Operators shall always use appropriate protective equipment, including but not limited to: a helmet with appropriate certification, protective clothing, knee pads, and elbow pads.

• Always give way to pedestrians.

• Be alert to things in front and far away from you.

• Do not allow distractions when riding, such as answering the phone or engaging in any other activities.

• The product cannot be ridden by more than one person.

• When riding the product along with other riders, always keep a safe distance to avoid a collision.

• When turning, be sure to maintain your balance.

• Riding with improperly adjusted brakes is dangerous and can result in serious injury or death.

• Applying brakes too hard or too suddenly can lock up a wheel, which could cause you to lose control and fall. Sudden or excessive application of the brake may result in injury or death.

• If the brake loosens, please adjust with the hexagon wrench, or please contact the Jetson Care Team.

• Replace worn or broken parts immediately.

• The area that the product is to be operated should be safe and suitable for safe operation.

• Check whether all safety labels are in place and understood before riding.

• The owner shall allow the use and operation of the unit after a demonstration that such operators can understand and operate all components of the unit before use.

• Recommended for indoor use.

• Use caution when changing the batteries. Do not change batteries near flammable materials. Remove batteries from the bike when not in use for long periods of time.

• Prolonged exposure to UV rays, rain, and the elements may damage the enclosure materials. Store indoors when not in use.

MODIFICATIONS

Do not attempt to disassemble, modify, repair, or replace the product or any components of the unit without instruction from the Jetson Care Team. This will void any warranty, and can lead to malfunctions which may cause injury.

ADDITIONAL OPERATION PRECAUTIONS

• Do not lift the product off the ground while it is on and the wheels are in motion. This can result in freely spinning wheels, which may cause injury to yourself or others nearby.

• Do not jump on or off the product, and do not jump while using it.

• Always keep your feet firmly planted on the pedals while in operation.

• The Consumer Product Safety Commission advises that the riding of small wheel diameter bicycles at excessive speeds can lead to instability and is not recommended.

• Always wear a properly fitted helmet when you ride your bicycle. Do not ride at night. Avoid riding in wet conditions.

Battery may contain hazardous substances which could endanger the environment and human health. This symbol marked on the battery and/or packaging indicates that used battery shall not be treated as municipal waste.

Batteries should be disposed of at an appropriate collection point for recycling. By ensuring the used batteries are disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health. The recycling of materials will help to conserve natural resources. For more information about recycling of used batteries, please contact your local municipality waste disposal service.

Safety Checklist

CONDUCT THESE IMPORTANT SAFETY CHECKS BEFORE EVERY RIDE:

BRAKES

•

Make sure brakes work properly.

Check that the brake pads are not worn, and are aligned and centered correctly.

Check that the brake control levers are lubricated and are secured to the handlebar.

STEERING

• Check that the handlebar and stem are aligned with the forks, and are securely tightened.

CRANKS AND PEDALS

• Check that the pedals are securely tightened to the cranks and that the cranks are tightened to the frame.

WHEELS AND TIRES

•

Make sure that the tires are inflated to within their maximum recommended tire pressure 35-45 PSI.

Check tires and rims for excessive wear or any damage.

• Check that wheel spokes are not broken and that axle nuts are tight.

CAUTION: Use the included hand pump or a hand or foot pump designated for bicycle tires. Never inflate tires with an air compressor at a gas station. This can cause the tubes to over-inflate and blow out.

CHAIN

• Make sure all bearings are lubricated and run smoothly.

FRAME AND FORK

•

Check that the frame and fork are not damaged or broken.

Check that the handlebar clamp is tight.

• Make sure that all screws, nuts, and bolts are tight.

All new Jetson products, excluding parts and accessories, are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of original retail purchase when used in accordance with Jetson's user manuals

1. PIVOT THE HANDLEBAR AND FRONT TIRE FORWARD.

2. PRESS IN THE FRAME LOCKING LEVER TO SECURE THE FRAME IN RIDING POSITION.

Attaching the Handlebar

1. LIFT THE CLAMP LATCH INTO THE OPEN (UP) POSITION.

OPEN THE CLAMP.

NOTE: ALL HANDLEBAR COMPONENTS ARE

2. USING YOUR FINGERS, UNSCREW THE PRE-ATTACHED BOLT ON

THE UNDERSIDE OF THE HANDLEBAR CLAMP.

3. REMOVE THE NUT AND FLAT WASHER. SET ASIDE.

4. PULL THE CLAMP LATCH UP AND OUT OF THE CLAMP,

ALONG WITH THE CURVED WASHER. SET ASIDE.

5. SEPARATE THE TOP PART OF THE CLAMP FROM ITS BASE BY

SLIDING IT OUT SIDEWAYS.

9. SLIDE THE FLAT WASHER ONTO THE STEM OF

THE LATCH AND GENTLY TWIST ON THE NUT.

TIGHTEN THE NUT TO SECURE THE

* IMPORTANT: DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN

OR UNDER-TIGHTEN THE BOLT. OVER-

TIGHTENING COULD INHIBIT CLOSURE OF

THE CLAMP HANDLE. UNDER-TIGHTENING

COULD LEAD TO A LOOSE CLAMP AND AN

UNSTABLE HANDLEBAR.

Attaching the Seat

1. OPEN THE SEAT CLAMP LEVER AND LOOSEN THE

KNOB TO WIDEN THE CLAMP.

2. SLIDE THE SEAT POST IN.

3. ENSURE THE SEAT POST REACHES THE MINIMUM

INSERTION LINE MARKED ON THE POST.

Turning the Battery On/Off

• BOTH THE BATTERY POWER BUTTON AND POWER BUTTON ON THE

HANDLEBAR MUST BE ON TO SUCCESSFULLY TURN ON THE HAZE.

(REFER TO SECTION 2.2 OF THIS MANUAL.)

CAUTION: TURN OFF BATTERY POWER BUTTON WHEN NOT USING THE

HAZE FOR PROLONGED PERIODS (30+ DAYS). FAILURE TO DO SO MAY

RESULT IN BATTERY MALFUNCTION.

Removing/Replacing the Battery

1. TURN THE BATTERY OFF.

2. OPEN THE FRAME. (REFER TO SECTION 1.1 OF THIS MANUAL.)

OPEN THE FRAME.

3. UNLOCK THE BATTERY USING THE KEY.

NOTE: THE SAME KEY UNLOCKS BOTH THE

BATTERY AND THE WHEEL LOCK.

4. USE BATTERY HANDLE TO SLOWLY PULL THE

BATTERY OUT OF THE FRAME.

5. TO REPLACE, SLOWLY INSERT BATTERY ENSURING

BACK OF BATTERY LINES UP WITH INTERNAL

PLUGS; LOCK THE BATTERY WITH THE KEY.

NOTE: INSERTING THE BATTERY TOO QUICKLY OR

FORCEFULLY MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE.

Charging the Battery

THE BATTERY CAN BE CHARGED WHILE INSTALLED IN

THE BIKE OR WHEN REMOVED FROM THE BIKE.

CHARGING INSTALLED BATTERY

1. POSITION THE HAZE NEAR AN ELECTRICAL WALL OUTLET.

2. PLUG THE CHARGER INTO THE WALL OUTLET BEFORE PLUGGING THE

OTHER END INTO THE BIKE'S CHARGING PORT.

3. CHARGE THE BATTERY UNTIL IT IS FULLY CHARGED—UP TO 5 HOURS.

4. PLACE THE COVER OVER THE CHARGING PORT WHEN DONE.

* IMPORTANT: ONLY USE THE INCLUDED CHARGER. DO NOT USE THE

CHARGER FOR OTHER PRODUCTS. DO NOT TURN ON THE HAZE WHILE

IT IS CHARGING. REMOVE THE CHARGER WHEN THE BATTERY IS FULLY

CHARGED TO AVOID DAMAGE TO THE BATTERY.

5. DO NOT LEAVE THE HAZE CHARGING OVERNIGHT.

Unlocking/Locking the

Rear Wheel Lock

AS A SECURITY FEATURE, THE HAZE HAS

A LOCKABLE REAR WHEEL. WHEN LOCKED,

THE WHEEL WILL NOT SPIN.

• TO LOCK: OPEN THE LOCK CAP. INSERT

THE KEY AND PUSH LOCK THROUGH REAR

WHEEL DISC, THEN TURN IT COUNTER

CLOCKWISE. CLOSE LOCK CAP.

CAUTION: THE BRAKES WILL LOCK UP

WHICH WILL LOCK THE WHEEL IF THE WHEEL

LOCK IS ON AND THE SPEED IS ENGAGED.

• TO UNLOCK: OPEN THE LOCK CAP. INSERT

THE KEY AND TURN IT CLOCKWISE. THIS

WILL DISENGAGE THE BRAKE CALLIPER

WITH THE REAR WHEEL AND ALLOW FULL

OPERATION OF THE BIKE.

Inflating the Tires

CAUTION : BEFORE INFLATING EACH TIRE, MAKE SURE THAT IT IS EVENLY ALIGNED AROUND BOTH SIDES OF THE ENTIRE RIM.

1. REMOVE THE VALVE DUST CAP FROM THE TIRE VALVE.

2. CONNECT THE AIR PUMP TO THE VALVE BY PRESSING THE NOZZLE STRAIGHT DOWN ONTO THE VALVE.

3. FLIP DOWN THE LOCKING LEVER ON THE NOZZLE.

4. USE EVEN STROKES WHEN PUMPING AIR INTO THE TIRE.

5. MONITOR THE GAUGE ON THE PUMP.

6. STOP WHEN YOU'VE REACHED THE RECOMMENDED PSI OF 35-45 FOR THE TIRE*.

2.1

Riding the Haze

BEFORE EACH RIDE:

• CHECK THAT THE HANDLEBAR AND SEAT ARE SECURE.

• CHECK THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE IS SUFFICIENT (35-45 PSI) AND THE BRAKE SYSTEM WORKS CORRECTLY.

• CHECK THAT THE WHEEL LOCK IS DISENGAGED & BATTERY POWER IS TURNED ON.

CAUTION: KEEP YOUR FEET ON THE PEDALS. DO NOT RIDE WITH YOUR FEET DANGLING ALONGSIDE THE BIKE.

OR UNDER THE WHEELS. CLOSED-TOE, FLAT SHOES ARE RECOMMENDED. WEAR AN ASTM F1492 APPROVED HELMET AND

PROTECTIVE GEAR TO PREVENT INJURY IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT.

Care & Maintenance

RIDING RANGE

The maximum riding range per battery charge is 24,1 km (15 miles) using the Twist Throttle and 32,2 km (20 miles) using

Pedal Assist. However, a lot of factors will affect how far you can go per charge:

• Riding surface: A smooth, flat surface will increase riding distance.

• User weight: More weight means less distance.

• Min/Max in use temperature: -10°C ~ 40°C (14°F ~ 104°F)

• Maintenance: Timely battery charging after every ride of up to 5 hours per charge will increase riding range.

• Speed and riding style: Frequent starting and stopping will reduce riding range.

CLEANING THE HAZE

• Carefully wipe with a damp cloth and then dry with a dry cloth.

• Do not spray water directly onto the Haze; water can cause damage to the frame or electrical components, which could result in malfunctions that put rider safety at risk.

SECURING THE HAZE

The Haze is equipped with a rear wheel lock that is compatible with the same key as the battery.

• To lock, open lock cap, using the key push lock through rear wheel disc, then close lock cap.

CAUTION: The wheel will lock up if the wheel lock is on and the speed is engaged. (Refer to section 1.9 of this manual.)

C MAKING CHAIN ADJUSTMENTS

• The chain must be at the correct tightness.

When the chain (C) is at the correct tightness, you can rotate the crank freely and you can pull it no more than one-half inch (A) away from a straightedge (B) as shown.

• If too tight, the bicycle will be difficult to pedal.

• If too loose, the chain can come off the sprockets.

Adjust the tightness of the chain as follows:

• Loosen the axel nuts on the rear wheel.

• Move the rear wheel forward or backward as necessary.

NOTE: Make sure the rear wheel is centered under the bicycle frame.

• Hold the wheel in this position and tighten the axel nuts.

WARNING

Do not attempt chain repairs. If there is a problem with the chain, have a bicycle service shop make any repairs.

CARING FOR THE BATTERY

• Min/Max charging temperature: 0°C ~ 45°C (32°F ~ 113°F)

• Do not use in temperatures below -10°C (14°F) or above 40°C (104°F)

• Keep away from fire and excessive heat.

• Avoid intense physical impact and/or severe vibration.

• Protect from water or moisture.

• Do not disassemble.

• When storing the Haze, turn the battery power off.

• If there are any issues with the battery, please contact the Jetson Care Team.

• Charging port cover should remain covered/closed when storing.

• Turn off battery switch when not using the Haze for prolonged periods (30+ days). Failure to do so may result in a malfunctioning battery.

AUTRES MISES EN GARDE CONCERNANT L’UTILISATION

• Ne soulevez pas le produit du sol lorsqu’il est en marche et que les roues sont en mouvement. Les roues pourraient alors tourner librement, ce qui risque de causer des blessures à vous-même ou à d’autres personnes à proximité.

• Ne sautez pas sur le produit et ne sautez pas en l’utilisant.

• Gardez toujours les pieds fermement posés sur les pédales pendant le fonctionnement.

FREINS

2. CONNECTEZ LA POMPE À AIR À LA VALVE EN APPUYANT SUR LA BUSE DIRECTEMENT SUR LA VALVE.

3. RABATTEZ LE LEVIER DE VERROUILLAGE SUR LA BUSE.

4. FAITES DES MOUVEMENTS RÉGULIERS LORSQUE VOUS POMPEZ L’AIR DANS LE PNEU.

5. SURVEILLEZ LA JAUGE DE LA POMPE.

6. ARRÊTEZ LORSQUE VOUS AVEZ ATTEINT LA VALEUR RECOMMANDÉE POUR LE PNEU ( 241 À 310 KPA )*.

7. DÉVERROUILLEZ LA BUSE, RETIREZ-LA DE LA VALVE ET REPLACEZ LE CAPUCHON ANTIPOUSSIÈRE.

8. RÉPÉTEZ L’OPÉRATION POUR L’AUTRE PNEU.

* NE GONFLEZ PAS TROP LES PNEUS. RESTEZ DANS LA FOURCHETTE DE PRESSION RECOMMANDÉE.

AVANT CHAQUE SORTIE :

• VÉRIFIEZ QUE LE GUIDON ET LA SELLE SONT BIEN FIXÉS.

• VÉRIFIEZ QUE LA PRESSION DES PNEUS EST SUFFISANTE (ENTRE 241 ET 310 KPA) ET QUE LE SYSTÈME DE FREINAGE

FONCTIONNE CORRECTEMENT.

• VÉRIFIEZ QUE LE VERROUILLAGE DES ROUES EST DÉSENGAGÉ ET QUE LA BATTERIE EST MISE SOUS TENSION.

ATTENTION : GARDEZ LES PIEDS SUR LES PÉDALES. NE ROULEZ PAS AVEC LES PIEDS QUI PENDENT LE LONG DU VÉLO.

RESTEZ TOUJOURS ASSIS LORSQUE VOUS ROULEZ.

BOUTON D’ALIMENTATION : APPUYEZ RAPIDEMENT POUR METTRE LE HAZE SOUS TENSION ET HORS TENSION.

AUTONOMIE

L’autonomie maximale par charge de batterie est de 24,1 km (15 miles) avec l’accélérateur rotatif et de 32,2 km (20 miles) avec l’assistance au pédalage. Cependant, de nombreux facteurs influent sur la distance que vous pouvez parcourir par charge :

• Surface de roulement : une surface lisse et plate augmente la distance parcourue.

• Poids de l’utilisateur : plus de poids signifie moins de distance.

• Température d’utilisation minimum et maximum : de −10 °C à 40 °C ou de 14 °F à 104 °F

• Entretien : Une recharge régulière de la batterie après chaque utilisation, jusqu’à 5 heures par charge, augmentera l’autonomie.

• Vitesse et style de conduite : des démarrages et arrêts fréquents réduisent l’autonomie.

NETTOYAGE DU HAZE

• Essuyez soigneusement avec un chiffon humide, puis séchez avec un chiffon sec.

• Ne vaporisez pas d’eau directement sur le Haze; l’eau peut endommager le cadre ou les composants électriques, ce qui pourrait entraîner des dysfonctionnements mettant en danger la sécurité du cycliste.

VERROUILLAGE DU HAZE

Le Haze est équipé d’un verrouillage de roue arrière compatible avec la même clé que celle de la batterie.

• Pour verrouiller la roue, ouvrez le capuchon du verrou. Puis, à l’aide de la clé, poussez le verrou à travers le disque de la roue arrière et refermez le capuchon du verrou.

ATTENTION : La roue se bloque si elle est verrouillée et que la vitesse est engagée (voir la section 1.9 du manuel).

RÉGLAGE DE LA CHAÎNE

• La chaîne doit être correctement tendue.

Lorsque la chaîne (C) est correctement tendue, vous pouvez faire tourner la manivelle librement et vous pouvez la tirer à une distance maximale d’un demi-pouce (A) d’une règle droite (B), comme illustré.

• Si elle est trop tendue, il sera difficile de pédaler.

• Si elle est trop lâche, la chaîne peut quitter les pignons.

Réglez la tension de la chaîne comme suit :

• Desserrez les écrous d’essieu de la roue arrière.

• Déplacez la roue arrière vers l’avant ou l’arrière au besoin.

REMARQUE : Assurez-vous que la roue arrière se trouve au centre sous le cadre du vélo.

• Maintenez la roue dans cette position et serrez les écrous de l’essieu.

AVERTISSEMENT :

N’essayez pas de réparer la chaîne. En cas de problème avec la chaîne, faites effectuer les réparations par un atelier de réparation de vélos.

ENTRETIEN DE LA BATTERIE

• Température de charge minimum et maximum : de 0 °C à 45 °C (de 32 °F à 113 °F).

• Ne pas utiliser à des températures inférieures à -10 °C (14 °F) ou supérieures à 40 °C (104 °F).

• Gardez le vélo à l’abri du feu et de la chaleur excessive.

• Évitez les chocs physiques intenses ou les vibrations importantes.

• Protégez le vélo de l’eau ou de l’humidité.

• Ne pas désassembler.

• Lorsque vous entreposez le Haze, mettez la batterie hors tension.

• Communiquez avec l’équipe du service à la clientèle de Jetson si vous rencontrez des problèmes avec la batterie.

5. N’essayez pas de charger des batteries NON RECHARGEABLES. Veuillez communiquer avec l’assistance Jetson pour toute aide supplémentaire.

6. Cet appareil peut être utilisé par des enfants de 16 ans ou plus et des personnes ayant des capacités physiques, sensorielles ou mentales réduites, ou un manque d’expérience et de connaissances, s’ils ont reçu une supervision ou des instructions concernant l’utilisation de l’appareil en toute sécurité et s’ils comprennent les risques encourus.

7. Les enfants ne doivent pas jouer avec l’appareil.

8. Le nettoyage et l’entretien de l’appareil ne doivent pas être effectués par des enfants sans surveillance.

9. Le chargement doit être fait à l’intérieur.

10. Pour les équipements pouvant être branchés, la prise de courant doit être installée à proximité de l’équipement et doit être facilement accessible.

RANGEMENT

• Chargez complètement la batterie avant de ranger le vélo (jusqu’à 5 heures par charge).

• Couvrez le vélo pour le protéger de la poussière.

• Rangez le vélo à l’intérieur, dans un endroit sec et à une température supérieure à 10 °C ou 50 °F.

• Placez le Haze dans un environnement chaud (plus de 10 °C ou 50 °F) pour le charger.

• Le couvercle du port de charge doit rester fermé lors du rangement.

• Éteignez l’interrupteur de la batterie lorsque vous n’utilisez pas le Haze pendant des périodes prolongées (30 jours ou plus). Le non-respect de cette consigne peut entraîner un mauvais fonctionnement de la batterie.

• Température d’entreposage idéale : 1 mois – de 0 °C à 45 °C | de 32 °F à 113 °F

1 à 3 mois – de 5 °C à 40 °C | de 41 °F à 104 °F

3 mois à 1 an – de 10 °C à 35 °C | de 50 °F à 95 °F
