SAFETY WARNINGS
VACUUM CLEANER
For your continued safety and to reduce the risk of injury or electric shock, please follow all the safety precautions listed below.
• Read all the instructions carefully before using the appliance and keep them for future reference.
• Retain the manual. If you pass the appliance onto a third party make sure to include this manual.
• Check that the voltage marked on the rating label matches your mains voltage.
• Consult your dealer if you are ever in doubt about the installation, operation or safety of your appliance.
• Do not remove any fixed cover as this may expose dangerous voltages.
• Do not allow any electrical appliance to be exposed to dripping or splashing.
• To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the mains cable, mains plug, or any part of the appliance in water or other liquids.
• Make sure the dust bag is properly installed before use.
• Never vacuum up water or any other liquids. Never vacuum up flammable substances and do not vacuum up ashes until they are cold.
• Never use the appliance without the motor protection filter.
Without this, the motor will be damaged and the life of the appliance will be shortened.
• If a blockage is found in the brushes, hoses or tubes, it should be removed before use.
• Store and use the appliance well away from heat sources such as radiators or gas / electric fires.

• Do not run over the mains cable with the appliance.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
• Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than
8 years.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• Do not point the hose, tube or any other accessory at the eyes, ears or mouth during operation.
• Unplug the appliance from the mains socket when it is not in use and before replacing the dustbag or filter.
• Allow the appliance to cool completely before cleaning or storing.
• Do not use the appliance for other uses than its intended use.
• Only use original accessories and original spare parts. This ensures that the appliance will run safely and fault-free.
• The use of accessories not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injury.
• Do not use the appliance outdoors.
• Do not operate an appliance with a damaged mains cable or mains plug, or in an abnormal state. If the mains cable is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• Do not continue to operate the appliance if you are in any doubt about it working normally (e.g. abnormal noise, smell, smoke), or
if it is damaged in any way - switch off, withdraw the mains plug and consult your dealer.
• Any maintenance and repair must be handled by a professional technician. Do not try to repair by yourself.
• This appliance is designed for indoor, household use only.
• Make sure the unit is earthed properly during use. Use of any extension sockets must have an earth connection. If in doubt, contact a qualified electrician.
• Never do the following. Doing so might cause eruption, fire, electrical shock or injury:
• Do not use the vacuum cleaner near flammable objects, combustibles or fires (kerosene, gasoline, thinner, benzene, toner, iron powder, detergent, large quantity of wheat flour, combustible gas sprays, cigarette butts, etc.).
• Do not vacuum pointed objects such as thumbtacks, needles, hairpins or toothpicks.
• Do not vacuum foaming substances such as carpet cleaners.
• Do not wash with water or use in the bathroom (except for parts that might be washed with water).
• Do not charge or store the vacuum cleaner in a humid place.
• Hold and pull the power plug at the end, not the cord. Holding and pulling by the cord might damage and short it, causing electrical shock or fire.
• When carrying the main body, do not hold the dust case. The main body might fall and cause injury or damage the floor.
• Keep away from fire. A short circuit due to main body deformation might cause electrical shock or fire. Flames might grow larger due to exhaust and cause fire.
• Discontinue operation during maintenance. This might cause injury.
• Do not block the exhaust. Doing so might cause fire or main body deformation due to overheating.

• Never leave the device unsupervised while it is in operation.
• Never use the device without a filter, this can lead to device damage.
• Protect the device from extreme weather conditions, moisture and heat.
• Never insert conductive objects such as screwdrivers into the charging socket on the appliance.
• Never touch contacts or lines.
• Never touch the mains plug and socket with wet hands.
• Do not immerse the appliance in water.
• Follow the below points for vacuum cleaners with battery:
• Avoid contact with fluid leaking from defective batteries.
Immediately rinse off the fluid using water if contact is made, and also consult a doctor in the event of contact with the eyes.
• Only allow children at least 8 years old to use the charging station. Give sufficient instructions so that the child is able to use the charging station in a safe way and explain that it is not a toy and must not be played with.
• Do not expose the battery to strong sunlight, heat or fire.
• Only charge the appliance using the original battery charger
(power adaptor) enclosed.
• Do not open the battery pack. Repairs are only to be carried out by qualified personnel.
• Immediately replace a damaged charger together with charging cable with an original part.
• Have repair work and work on electrical components carried out by the authorised customer service only.
• Switch off the appliance immediately and remove the mains plug before performing any care and service work.
• The screw connections of all connection hoses must be leak-tight.
• Do not use scouring agents, glass or multi-purpose cleaner for
cleaning.
• In order to prevent accidents or injuries, you must observe the weight of the device when transporting it.
• Accidents or damage due to the device falling over. Before all actions with or on the device, you must make sure that it is stable.
• This appliance is only to be used with the power supply provided with the appliance.
• The plug must be removed from the socket-outlet before cleaning or maintaining the appliance.
• For appliance powered by rechargeable batteries that are recharged in the appliance:
• This appliance contains batteries that are non-replaceable.

Assembling the Vacuum for Operation
1. Attach the dust bucket onto the main body until clicked securely (in case the dust bucket is not attached).
2. Insert the handle into the top of the main body.
Push down until clicked securely.
Click!
3. Insert the curved end of the hose into the opening at the upper back left side, turn the hose clockwise to lock with the opening. Loop the hose over the hose retainer at the back. Then push down the other end of the hose onto the hose inlet at the lower back right side until secured in place.
4. Install the upper and lower power cord holders, push them securely in place. The upper power cord holder should be able to rotate freely, but not the lower power cord holder.
For the lower power cord holder, ensure its rounded edge is pointing downwards. Wrap the power cord around the upper and lower power cord holders.
5. Store accessories onto the areas indicated by the arrows in the diagram. Push the accessories down securely in place.
The crevice tool is best to be stored in between the power cord holders, whereas the upholstery tool and the dusting brush can be stored either on the left or right side.

Operation
Avoid oversized or sharp items such as screws.
Vacuuming floor
1. Plug into the wall socket.
2. Select which type of floor surface to clean by turning the Height
adjustment switch. The order of options is: floor, lowest carpet, lower carpet, higher carpet, highest carpet.
3. Step on the Cleaner release pedal to lower the handle into position for vacuuming floors. To replace the handle, simply push the handle back to its upright position until clicked securely in place.
4. Step on the Power pedal to start vacuuming. To stop vacuuming, step on the Power pedal again to turn off.

5. Empty the dust bucket after each use.
• Unplug from the wall socket.
• Press the Dust bucket release button and lift the dust bucket from the main body.
• Carry the dust bucket to a rubbish bin, point the bottom lid of the dust bucket over the rubbish bin.
• Press the release button of the bottom lid to open it and empty the dirt.
• Push back up the bottom lid and close manually.
Using accessories for cleaning
Always turn off the vacuum cleaner before detaching or attaching accessories.
1. Pull up the hose from the hose inlet at the lower back right side.
2. Insert and push the hose into the top hole opening of the handle, twist the hose clockwise until it locks with the top hole opening.
3. Push down the Handle release latch and pull out the handle with tube.
4. Attach the accessory to use by inserting it directly into the opening of the tube.
5. The accessory can also be inserted directly into the opening of the hose, without using the handle with tube.

• Use the crevice tool to clean hard to reach areas such as corners, edges or narrow gaps, furniture, radiators.
• Use the dusting brush to clean furniture, curtains, stairs, walls.
• Use the upholstery tool to clean furniture, curtains, radiators.
6. Plug into the wall socket.
7. Step on the Power pedal to start vacuuming. To stop vacuuming, step on the Power
pedal again to turn off.
8. Empty the dust bucket after each use.
• Unplug from the wall socket.
• Press the Dust bucket release button and lift the dust bucket from the main body.
• Carry the dust bucket to a rubbish bin, point the bottom lid of the dust bucket over the rubbish bin.
• Press the release button of the bottom lid to open it and empty the dirt.
• Push back up the bottom lid and close manually.
Empty the dust bucket as soon as the dirt reaches the MAX level. Do not overfill!
Using the appliance when the dirt is above the MAX level may cause the dirt to reach the filter and causing more frequent maintenance to be required.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Before cleaning, maintenance and storage, ensure the vacuum cleaner is turned off and unplugged from the mains socket.
• To ensure your vacuum cleaner works at optimum efficiency, keep the ventilation holes and vacuum cleaner surface free from dirt.
• Ensure that the dust bucket is emptied each time after use and the filters are washed regularly.
• Wipe the outside of the vacuum cleaner and accessories with a damp (not wet) cloth and then wipe dry. Do not use detergents, solvents or abrasives as these may scratch or damage the surface.
• When not in use, store in a cool, dry place.
Cleaning the dust bucket filter assembly
1. Remove the dust bucket from the main body. Detach the dust bucket latch and open the bucket lid.
2. Lift out the foam filter. Wash and dry thoroughly.
3. Take out the filter screen. Turn the bottom of the filter screen anti-clockwise to unlock and pull apart. Wash and dry thoroughly, then re-assemble clockwise to lock.

4. Align the tab on the filter screen with the slot at the back of the dust bucket, then push inside into position.
5. Put back the foam filter.
6. Close the bucket lid until clicked securely. Attach the dust bucket to the main body.
Click!
Never operate the vacuum cleaner without the foam filter and filter screen assembled in proper position.
Cleaning the floor brush
• Remove the dust bucket and all accessories from the main body.
• Step on the Cleaner release pedal to lower the handle completely to the floor.
• Turn over the brush.
• Clean the brush with a warm soft cloth with diluted detergent but do not wash, then dry with a clean soft cloth. For entangled hairs, use scissors to carefully cut off the hairs from the brush.
Replacing the floor brush roll bar or belt
• Remove the dust bucket and all accessories from the main body.
• Step on the Cleaner release pedal to lower the handle completely to the floor.
• Turn over the brush.
• Use a Philips screwdriver to remove the 6 screws from the bottom of the base, then remove the brush cover.

• Rotate the right end of the brush roll bar and lift it out, then lift out the left end of the brush roll bar.

• To replace the belt, position the new belt around the motor shaft.
• Loop the new belt around the left end of the brush roll bar shaft, then insert the left end of the brush roll bar first into the base, align the left end cap with the slot to fit into position, then press the right end of the brush roll bar and insert it into position.
• Re-fit the brush cover and screw back in the 6 screws.
Troubleshooting
Before cleaning, maintenance and storage, ensure the vacuum cleaner is turned off and unplugged from the mains socket.
Problem
Motor will not start
Possible solution
• Check if the power cord is plugged securely in the wall socket, try another wall socket or check the circuit breaker.
• Step on the Power pedal to turn the vacuum on.
• The vacuum may be overheated:
• Turn off and unplug the vacuum.
• Check if the dust bucket is filled to the MAX level (empty the dust bucket).
• Check if there is a blocked hose or clogged filter (remove the blockage).
• Wait for at least 30 minutes (for the machine to cool down if overheated).
• Try plugging back and turning on the vacuum. If the vacuum still does not work, call the customer service line.
Vacuum cleaner does not clean carpet
No suction at the end of hose or handle tube
• Empty the dust bucket, clean and/or change filter.
• Check if the Height adjustment switch is pointed to the correct option.
• Clean the brush roll bar if needed.
Remove any clogs from the hose or handle tube that may be restricting the suction flow.
Burning smell; brush roll bar will not turn
• Check and clean the brush roll bar for any debris.
• Replace broken or out of shape belt.
Vacuum is hard to push Adjust the Height adjustment switch to a higher position.
Vacuum suddenly shuts off; the vacuum may be overheated
Blockage affecting suction flow
• Turn off and unplug the vacuum.
• Check if the dust bucket is filled to the MAX level (empty the dust bucket).
• Check if there is a blocked hose or clogged filter (remove the blockage).
• Wait for at least 30 minutes (for the machine to cool down if overheated).
• Try plugging back and turning on the vacuum. If the vacuum still does not work, call the customer service line.
• Check and empty the dust bucket.
• Check and clean the filter screen and foam filter.
• Check the inside of the hose and handle tube. Use a thin blunt stick to clear the blockage inside the hose or handle tube.
ATTENTION: Be very careful of any sharp objects that are stuck or embedded in the bucket, filters, hose or tube!
