TURN THE HEATER ON OR OFF
Upon plugging in the heater, the Power
Indicator Light will be illuminated and the unit will be in its standby state. In this state, “- -” is shown on the display and indicates that the unit is on but not heating.
TEMPERATURE UNITS
To switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit units, press the MODE button once. The digital display will blink 3 times and then automatically switch. Temperature will reset to the default setting when units are changed.
Pressing the ON/OFF button once will select the Low Heat (750W) setting, indicated by the illumination of the Low
Heat Indicator Light.
Pressing the ON/OFF button a second time will select the High Heat (1500W) setting, indicated by the illumination of the High
Heat Indicator Light.
SETTING THE THERMOSTAT
When the heater is in the heat setting
(either Low or High), press the UP/DOWN button once to select the thermostat option. This is indicated by the illumination of the Temperature Indicator Light and by a flashing “00C” on the display (or “00F”, depending on the selected units). At this time, press the UP/DOWN buttons to raise or lower the temperature set point.
Pressing the ON/OFF button a third time will return the heater to the standby state.
Make sure the heater is in the standby state before unplugging. The heater should be unplugged when not in use.
NOTE: During the heater’s initial use, you may experience a slight odour or smoking.
This is the result of the heating element lubrication “burning off”. This is normal and will go away after a few minutes of use.
NOTE: Heater will function in the Low or
High heat setting independently of the thermostat, when the thermostat is set to
“00C” or “00F”.
OR
Once the desired temperature is reached, press the MODE button once to select the Timer option or twice to exit both options – this will return the display to the ambient temperature. Alternatively, the unit will automatically save and exit after 15 seconds of inactivity, returning the display to the ambient temperature. After exiting, the Temperature Indicator Light will remain illuminated to show that the thermostat option is active.
NOTE: The temperature value displayed in both heat settings is the current ambient temperature.
NOTE: When the ambient air temperature is equal to or below the thermostat set point, the heater will automatically turn on. If the ambient air temperature is greater than the thermostat set point, the heater will turn off
– in this state, the Power and Temperature
Indicator Lights will remain illuminated and the ambient temperature will be displayed.
SETTING THE TIMER
When the heater is in the heat setting
(either Low or High), press the MODE button two times to select the timer option. This is indicated by the illumination of the Timer Indicator Light and by a flashing “00H” on the display. At this time, press the UP/DOWN buttons to set the length of time for the heater to run. The timer adjustment range is from 1 to 12 hours.
USING THE THERMOSTAT AND TIMER AT
THE SAME TIME
It is possible to have both the thermostat and timer active at the same time. To do so, follow the instructions under “Setting the Thermostat”. Once the desired temperature has been reached, press the
MODE button once to select the timer option and follow the instructions under
“Setting the Timer”.
NOTE: When both the thermostat and timer options are active, the heater will remain on until the timer setting is reached. When the timer has reached its setting, the heater will automatically turn off, returning to the standby state.
Once the desired time is reached, press the
MODE button once to exit – this will return the display to the ambient temperature.
Alternatively, the unit will automatically save and exit after 15 seconds of inactivity, returning the display to the ambient temperature. After exiting, the Timer
Indicator Light will remain illuminated to show that the timer option is active.
CAUTION INDICATOR LIGHT
When overheating occurs, the Caution
Indicator Light will illuminate and the heater will turn off immediately. Refer to the ‘Safety
Features’ section (pg. 8) for heater reset instructions.
To turn the timer off, select the timer option using the MODE button and adjust the time displayed to “00H”.
NOTE: When the timer has reached its setting, the timer indicator light will turn off and the heater will automatically turn off, returning to the standby state.
NOTE: If the cable is unplugged, you will need to set the temperature and the time again when starting the unit next time.
