Attaching the Hose Clip 1. Place the hose clip into the siot in the back of the vacuum. (Fig. 1) 2. Using a Philips screwdriver and the screw provided, attach the hose clip to the vacuum. Changing the Dust Bag 1. Unplug power cord from wall outlet. 2. Remove the front panel of the unit. (Fig. 10) 3. Remove the old dust bag by holding liffing the dust bag locking tab then pull the cardboard tab towards you. (Fig. 8) Remove carefully to avoid dust/dirt spilling from dust hag. Dust Bag Locking Tab Fig. 8 4. Take a new dust bag and while holding the cardboard tab push the bag over the opening of the dirt discharge tube until it is seated against the rear of the enclosure. (Fig. 9). 5. Make sure that the entire bag is correctly inserted inside the housing, before replacing the front panel. Always check the pre-motor and post motor filter every time you change the dust bag. RE Treen 2 8. Once the new dust bag is in place replace the front panel by aligning the bottom locking tabs with the siots in the body, close cover slowly allowing the front panel to snap in place. Winding & Unwinding the Power Cord This vacuum cleaner is equipped with a convenient cord storage feature. The power cord winds around the two cord holders at the side of the unit. The top cord holder has a quick cord release- feature. Turn the cord hook to the left or the right to remove the power cord. {Fig. 14} Fig. 14 How to Adjust for Carpet Height WARNING: To avoid injury, keep loose clothing, hair, fingers and all other parts of body away from any moving part (such as the beater brush). Turn off the switch and unplug the vacuum before adjusting the vacuum for the carpet height. The front of the vacuum cleaner has a carpet adjustment knob that raises and lowers the motorized power head to match the type of carpet. With the vacuum NOT connected to the electrical outlet, set the adjustment to the lowest setting for maximum cleaning. If the vacuum is to difficult to push, move the knob to the next highest setting until the vacuum is comfortable to push. The beater brush must reach the carpet for effective cleaning. Cleaning & Changing the Belt A Warning: To reduce the risk of A electric shock, the power cord must be disconnected before removing the front panel, changing the filters or performing maintenance/trouble shooting checks. Occasionally the power nozzle drive belt will require changing, the frequency will depend upon the amount of use your vacuum sees. 1. Turn the vacuum "Off" and unplug from power supply. 2. Turn the vacuum upside down on a flat level surface. 3. Using a Philips screw driver, remove the four (4) screws that attach the base piate to the lower plate. (Fig 15) 2D After you have removed ihe base plate, remove the remaining five (5) screws from the lower plate using a Philips screw driver. (Fig. 16) With the unit still lying down, turn the unit over and lift the power head cover starting from the back of the power head. (Fig. 17) Lower Plate Remove the belt cover (Fig. 18, #1) Lift the right side of the brush bar first and then lift the left hand side. (Fig. 18 #2 & #3) Remove the brush bar from the power head. (Fig. 18, #4) Carefully remove any belt residue that may exist in the belt area before replacing with a new belt Fig, 18 10.Remove the worn or broken beit from the motor drive shaft. 11 Loop the new belt first over the motor drive shaft and then over the agitator pulley. . Insert the right side of the brush bar in first by placing the end cap down into the slot and then do the same with the left side. Press firmly to make sure that each end is completely inserted, . Check to make sure that the belt is centered on the agitator puliey and that the brush bar turns. 14. Replace the belt cover. 15. Replace the power head cover and turn the unit over carefuily. 16. Replace the lower plate, screwing in all five (5) screws. 17. Replace the lower plate. 18, Once the lower plate is attached, replace the base piate with the four (4)screws.
