AM-V5A4-AGB-KBC-R User Vianual This manual will show you how to use your HIGH DEFINITION DIGITAL CAMCORDER. Beep On Turn on the key tone Off Turn off the key tone Histogram On Turn on the histogram in display Off Turn off the histogram in display Auto Off Auto power-off off Power-Off 1 min Auto power off in1min if no operation 5 mins Auto power off in 5 mins if no operation TV standard NTSC American and Japanese video format Note: The camera will remain the last setting when it is turned off. 5.Using the camera 5.1 Installing the batteries The battery is not fully charged at shipment and must be fully charged before being used. 1. Fix LCD panel in close position. 2. Slide the battery cover off. 3. Insertthe 3.7V Li-ion rechargeable battery into the camera. 4. Replace the battery cover. 5. Connect the power supply and charge the battery. Battery Power source 5.2 Inserting a memory card (not included) This HD DV camera has built-in internal memory. This memory can be extended with a SD memory card (not included). Follow the instructions given below to insert the optional SD memory card into the camera. 1. Turn off the camera. 2. Insert the SD card into the camera by clicking it in. Note: There is only one right direction to insert the SD memory card into the slot. Do not force the card into the slot, or else it may damage both the camera and the SD memory card. Note: The SD memory card must be formatted before taking photographs. See the following sections for more information. 5.3 Formatting the memory or SD card 1. Press the MENU button twice to enter setup menu. 2. Select FORMAT by pressing the 4or Y button and press (@) , select M by pressing the dor » button. 3. Press the (@) button to confirm formatting the internal memory or SD card. Note: The SD memory card will be formatted when a SD card inserted. If formatting without a SD card inserted, the unit will format the internal memory. 5.4 Setting the resolution The HD DV camera can be set to different resolutions. VIDEO 1. Press the MENU button to enter the set up menu. 2. Select the RESOLUTION by pressing the Aor Y button and press the(e)button to confirm. 3. Different resolutions will be displayed. Select the desired resolution by using the <or buttons and press the(e)button to confirm the selection. QVGA (320 x 240), WVGA (848 x 480), 720P (1280 x 720). PHOTO 1. Press the MENU button to enter the set up menu. 2. Select the RESOLUTION by pressing the A or Y button and press the(e)button to confirm. 3. Different resolutions will be displayed. Select the desired resolution by using the <or » buttons and press the(e) button to confirm the selection. 3.0M (2048 x 1536), 5M (2592 x 1944), 8M (3200 x 2400). 5.5 Taking Video or photographs 1. Turn on the HD DV camera by opening the LCD panel. 2. Press the Mode button to select the photo mode jor video mode 3) 3. Depending on the distance to the object being photographed, use the Macro switch to adjust the distance. Select the flower symbol w if you wish to take a close-up photograph (11cm-18cm). If you wish to take a video or photograph of surroundings or people (0.5m - infinity), set the Macro switch to the Normal mode AÂ . 4. If You are not sure if there is enough lighting for photo,turn the automatic flash#A on by pressing the FLASH button. (If the battery power is too low, the flash will not activate. Flash capable only in photo mode.) 5. Use the LCD screen as a viewfinder to take videos or photos. 6. Press the(e) button once for photo taking, or press the(e) to start / stop video recording . Caution: 1) Taking picture for fast-moving objects is not recommended. 2) Image may be distorted when taking pictures in a moving vehicle. 5.6 Zoom in and out The HD DV can zoom in up to 4 times. Zoom in or out by pushing the Aor ¥ button up or down. 5.7 Taking photographs using the self-timer function You can use the self-timer function when you wish to take a photograph of yourself or when you wish to take a photograph of an object when the camera must be as still as possible. 1. Set the camera to photo mode. 2. Press the MENU button to enter set up menu. 3. Select SELF-TIMER by pressing the Aor Y button and press the(®) button to confirm. . Press «or » button to select the delay time: 5seconds, 10 seconds or off. . Press the(@)button to confirm the selection and the self-timer function is now ready for use. 6. Press the PLAYBACK [®] button to enter the playback mode, and press the or» button to select video clip or photo. 2. In viewing a photo, push the 4. or Y buttons to zoom in or out. 3. Press the (8g) (®@)button to choose the setting to maneuver the image up or down, right or left by pressing the dor»buttons. 4. In viewing a video clip, Press the(e)button to start playing the video and press again to stop. 6.2 Connect to computer 5. Use the USB cable provided. 5.9 Delete photographs and video clips 7.Specifications Follow the instructions given below to delete photograph or video clip. p .
