1. Introduction
This advanced battery charger is designed to charge the Dell 75UYF, 1691P, 5081P and
other Dell C series notebook battery packs. It provides an excellent way of charging
these battery packs safely and conveniently outside of the notebook. The charger has
two bays and is capable of charging two battery packs sequentially. An LED display in
each bay provides information on the charging status.
2. Safety Instructions
This battery charger is designed and built to the highest safety standards and will protect
the user from shock and other hazards when used as directed. The charger contains
high voltage circuits; it is therefore important for users to read the following instructions
Do not attempt to charge non-rechargeable batteries like alkaline, carbon-zinc, or
non-rechargeable lithium.
Remove all batteries from the charger before plugging the AC adapter into the wall
Make sure battery contacts are clean and there is no debris in the charger.
Do not short-circuit the charger's contacts with metal objects.
Use only with the AC adapter provided.
Make sure the battery is placed tightly in the bay to ensure a good connection.
Pay attention to the charging status LED and discontinue charging if it shows an
error signal (refer to section 3.3).
Always store the charger in a cool and dry place.
3. Operation
3.1. To power the battery charger, connect the DC tip into the back of the charger and
plug the AC connector of the adapter into a properly grounded outlet. Both LEDs will
blink red only once, indicating that the charger is ready to use.
3.2. Insert a battery pack into either bay to begin charging. If two batteries are inserted,
the second battery will begin charging after the first battery has completed charging.
The battery's charging time will vary according to its charge status and capacity. - CH-5630
