ABB PR512 Operator's Manual

ABB PR512 is a microprocessor-based protection unit designed for switchboards. It offers protection against overload and short-circuit with adjustable time-current curves. You can choose from various curve types for both functions and set customizable thresholds for different scenarios. The unit also features a display that shows the current of the phase with the highest load. Whether you're working with a two-phase or three-phase system, the PR512 can accommodate your needs. It's even self-powered, so you don't have to worry about an external power supply.

Frequently asked questions

The PR512/P offers four curve types: Definite Time (DT), Normally Inverse (NI), Very Inverse (VI), and Extremely Inverse (EI). Each offers different characteristics for protection against overloads and short circuits.

You can set the I> value by adjusting the 6 dip-switches on the front of the unit. The sum of the values selected represents the desired I> fraction of In, the primary current of the current transformer.

To reset the tripped flag, press the FLAG RESET button on the front of the unit. This can be done if the auxiliary voltage is present, the primary circulating current is above 0.2x In, or if the TT2 device is connected to the TEST connector.
