Frequently asked questions

After making sure that the SAFC II is securely installed, turn on the ignition switch and select the ETC. (etc. mode) in the main menu. You will then be presented with a table of initial setup items, which include setting the sensor type and sensor number, setting the number of cylinders, checking the throttle sensor voltage, setting the throttle sensor type, learning the throttle opening, and correcting the knocking signal.

The SAFC II has three main menus: Monitor, Setting, and Etc. The Monitor mode allows you to display data obtained from the sensor, such as airflow usage ratio, intake pressure, Karman sensor frequency, throttle opening, engine RPM, air correction factor, knocking level, and battery voltage. The Setting mode is used to adjust air correction factors, throttle opening, engine RPM, deceleration upper limit, and knocking signal correction. The Etc. mode is used for initial setup, display scale setting, warning settings, password setting/change, VFD brightness adjustment, program version check, and data initialization.

While in the Monitor menu, you can cycle through numeric display, analog display, graphic display, and digital/analog display by repeatedly pressing the center pushbutton. You can also pause or replay the graphics in the Monitor menu.

To reset the peak values, select the Monitor menu and then select “Peak” from the popup menu. Then, choose the item you want to reset (Airflow usage ratio, Intake pressure, Karman sensor, Throttle opening, Engine RPM, Knocking, or All items) and press “Enter” to reset the peak value for that item.
