Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio, then write down the frequencies for the preset buttons. 2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. AII 32686 (0607) 3 of 21 3. Choose the Accord template; set the TSX template aside, it will not be used. Using the utility knife, cut out the marked areas from the template (ACCORD) along the lines. 6. Remove the trim ring. M/T Model: • UTILITY KNIFE Without lock nut: Squeeze the plastic clip and pull down on the shift boot. Remove the shift knob by turning it counterclockwise. TEMPLATE (ACCORD) PLASTIC CLIP SHIFT KNOB Cut out areas. 2D11010S 4. SHIFT BOOT Close the sunshade. Position the template on the headliner align the interior light and headliner clip, and tape the template to the headliner using strips of masking tape. HEADLINER CLIP Cut out INTERIOR the area. LIGHT TRIM RING • UTILITY KNIFE 2206031K With lock nut: Loosen the lock nut and remove the gearshift knob. SUNSHADE SHIFT KNOB LOCK NUT MASKING TAPE HEADLINER TEMPLATE SHIFT BOOT 2031011S 5. CLIPS (4) 7. Remove the dashboard center holder: • Open the coin pocket lid and remove the coin pocket. • Remove the two self-tapping screws. • Gently pull out on the dashboard center holder to release the two retaining clips, unplug the vehicle connector, and remove the center holder. CLIPS (2) 2206041K VEHICLE HARNESS A/T Model: • • 5628120Y Gently pry up on the trim ring to release the six clips. With Ashtray: • Open the lid and remove the ashtray. Unplug the two seat heater connectors (if equipped), and remove the trim ring. • Remove the two self-tapping screws. • Gently pull out on the two retaining clips, unplug the cigarette lighter harness connector, the vehicle connector, and the illumination bulb; and then remove the center holder. Remove the center dashboard upper cover. • Apply masking tape to the edge of the center panel. • Remove the two self-tapping screws. • Attach electrical tape around the end of the hook tool. Push on the bottom of the lid, then pull out on the top by inserting the end of a hook tool between the pocket and center panel, and pulling it to out toward you to release the two retaining clips. Take care not to damage the lid. • Carefully insert a flat-tip screwdriver wrapped with protective tape into the slots on both sides of the upper cover, then pull out each side of the panel at the bottom to detach the clips. CENTER DASHBOARD UPPER COVER CENTER PANEL ELECTRICAL TAPE MASKING TAPE HOOK TOOL Push RETAINING CLIPS (2) LID FLAT-TIP SCREWDRIVER POCKET CLIPS (2) • SELF-TAPPING SCREW (Reuse.) 9. 2N11020T Remove the right and left inner covers (one hook and one clip for each cover). 2730030T Push the bottom of the hazard warning switch, and carefully insert a flat-tip screwdriver into the slot at the bottom of the hazard warning switch, then pry up the middle portion of upper panel by releasing the center clip. Gently pull out on the dash to release the eight clips. 12. Remove the driver’s dashboard lower cover: Remove the center dashboard upper cover by removing the two vehicle clips and unplugging the vehicle connector(s). HOOK TOOL Pull • Remove one self-tapping screw. • Release the four clips on the left side first by gently pulling out on the driver’s dashboard lower cover. • After releasing the four clips, insert the tip of the screwdriver between the clip and the dashboard frame. Gently twist the screwdriver to release each clip. • Unplug the vehicle connector, and remove the lower cover. Remove the center panel (two bolts, three selftapping screws, and pull the center panel out toward you to release the five clips). If equipped, remove the driver’s dashboard under cover (release the three retaining clips, one pin and one holder). Pry up on the four retaining tabs that fasten the cap to the left front door sill and remove the cap. 17. Remove the left rear door sill (four clips). Insert the ignition key into the key cylinder and turn it clockwise until it will no longer turn. Using a flat-tip screwdriver, pry up on the key cylinder and remove it from the left front door sill. 2326060T 18. Release the center pillar upper anchor cover (three tabs). Remove the left center pillar upper anchor bolt. 16. Remove the left front door sill (five clips and two retaining tabs). Remove the left center pillar lower anchor bolt. CLIPS (4) 22. Remove the left and right lens from roof console (four retaining tabs). Remove the four bolts that fasten the roof console. Remove the roof console by pulling it out toward you, and unplugging the two vehicle connectors. 2326070T 20. Remove the center pillar weatherstrip. Pull the left center pillar lower trim and left center pillar upper trim out toward you to release the four clips, and remove the upper and lower trims. VEHICLE CONNECTOR 21. Remove the weatherstrip. Pull the left front pillar trim out toward you to release the two clips, and remove the left front pillar trim. With SRS CLIP (Remove.) Remove the cap from the left sunvisor (four retaining tabs). 27. Remove the two caps from the left rear grab rail, and remove the grab rail (two bolts). Remove the left sunvisor (two T25 torx screws, and unplug the connector). 26. Remove the two caps from the left front grab rail, and remove the grab rail (two bolts). 28. Continue routing the 90° end of the i -VES harness from the dashboard lower cover opening to the pocket opening on the driver’s seat side. 31. Route the i-VES harness up along the front pillar and under the headliner along side the vehicle harness. Continue routing the i-VES harness to the rear along the vehicle harness, and out of headliner opening you made, so that the distance between the headliner opening and i -VES harness terminal end is 14¾ in. (370 mm). 30. Remove the sunvisor holders. Using a flat-tip screwdriver, push the hook, and turn the holder 90°, then pull it out. HEADLINER OPENING 14¾ in. Using isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel, clean the area where the cushion tape will attach. Secure the i-VES harness to the underside of the vehicle frame with the two cushion tapes. 37. Route a piece of steel wire through the hole in the rear interior light opening and out through the cutout made in the headliner. REAR INTERIOR LIGHT OPENING ELECTRICAL TAPE CUSHION TAPES (2) HEADLINER OPENING BRACKET PIECE OF STEEL WIRE (Wrap the end around the terminal end of the room light harness and pull it up.) Wrap the end of the steel wire around the room light harness connector and secure with an electrical tape. Pull the room light harness up through the rear interior light opening and out through the headliner opening. 35. Release the rear interior light. • Remove the lens (four retaining clips). • Remove the two screws, lift out the light, unplug the connector, and remove the light. VEHICLE CONNECTOR FRONT INTERIOR LIGHT LENS CLIP (Turn 90° counterclockwise to remove.) SCREW 2326240T 36. Plug the room light harness 3-pin connectors in between the rear interior light and vehicle 3-pin connectors and wrap one EPT sealer around the 3-pin connectors. 42. Using isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel, clean the area where the cushion tape will attach. Attach the remaining piece of cushion tape to the monitor bracket in the area shown. Insert the monitor bracket into the headliner opening. 3204050Y HEADLINER OPENING 40. Using isopropyl alcohol, thoroughly clean the area where the cushion tapes will attach. Cut one cushion tape in half, and secure the room light harness to the headliner with one cut cushion tape and one full cushion tape in the areas shown. 41. Reinstall the rear interior light. Install the monitor bracket to the vehicle frame with five square-neck bolts and five 4 mm flange nuts while holding the square-neck bolts. 46. Connect the interior light harness 3-pin connector and the i-VES harnesses terminal to the monitor console 3-pin connector and monitor console terminal. With an assistant holding the monitor console, secure the 3-pin connectors and terminals you plugged to the back of the monitor console. 5629110Y 45. Position the monitor console on the monitor bracket and install the two 5 x 16 mm washerscrews and the two 5 x 25 mm washer-screws. Install the two screw caps, then reinstall the left and right lenses. Do not pinch the i-VES harness and monitor harness between the monitor console and the monitor bracket. Near the fuse box by the dashboard lower cover opening, secure the i-VES harness to the vehicle harness with three wire ties in the areas shown. 2326322T 50. Along the front pillar, secure the i-VES harness to the vehicle harness with the four wire ties. AII 32686 (0607) 15 of 21 52. Continue to secure the i -VES harness to the vehicle harness with the three wire ties in the areas shown. 55. Route the other end of the subharness behind navigation unit or audio unit, and plug the subharness 20-pin connector into the rear of the navigation unit or audio unit, then reinstall the center panel. On navigation unit equipped vehicles, place the subharness connector between the bracket and air duct. VEHICLE HARNESS With Navigation System: CENTER PANEL NAVIGATION UNIT i-VES HARNESS 2326340T WIRE TIE Installing the DVD Player 2326361T 53. Unplug the vehicle 20-pin connector from the audio unit or navigation unit. Route the subharness as shown, and plug the subharness 20-pin connector into the vehicle 20-pin connector. SUBHARNESS 20-PIN CONNECTOR Without Navigation System: SUBHARNESS 20-PIN CONNECTOR VEHICLE FRAME WIRE TIE CENTER PANEL AUDIO UNIT VEHICLE HARNESS VEHICLE 20-PIN CONNECTOR 20-PIN CONNECTOR AUDIO UNIT OR NAVIGATION UNIT SUBHARNESS 20-PIN CONNECTOR SUBHARNESS 20-PIN CONNECTOR 2326371T SUBHARNESS 5411020Y 54. If the vehicle is equipped with a YAW sensor, continue with step 56; otherwise, go to step 60. 60. Remove the vehicle harness clip, and pull the harness away from the bracket. 56. Remove the vehicle clip from the left side of the pocket opening. 61. Install the player base bracket. VEHICLE CLIP (Cut and remove.) VEHICLE CLIP • VEHICLE HARNESS With YAW sensor: Install the player basebracket to the vehicle frame, using two 6 x16 mm washer bolts and two 6 mm flange nuts the bracket firmly against the vehicle frame. Using diagonal cutters, cut and remove the vehicle clip. Secure the vehicle harness to the vehicle harness using one wire tie. 58. Remove the vehicle clip from the right side of the pocket opening as shown. VEHICLE CLIP VEHICLE BRACKET EPT SEALER VEHICLE HARNESS CLIP (Remove.) • 5411031Y Without YAW sensor: Install the player basebracket to the vehicle frame, then install the two 6 mm flange nuts while holding the bracket firmly against the vehicle frame. Position the FM modulator on the player basebracket and install the 5 x 8 mm washer-screw. DIN HARNESS 66. Install the left and right player subbrackets into the holes in the vehicle frame, then install one 6 mm flange nut onto the stud of each subbracket while pushing the player subbracket upward. FM MODULATOR VEHICLE FRAME 90° DIN HARNESS TERMINAL 6 mm FLANGE NUT VEHICLE FRAME FM MODULATOR ANTENNA LEAD 5 x 8 mm WASHERSCREW 5411040Y PLAYER BASE-BRACKET LEFT PLAYER SUBBRACKET 63. Plug the 90° DIN harness terminal into the FM modulator (not the i -VES harness). 64. On the right of the dashboard opening, unplug the vehicle antenna leads and plug into the FM modulator antenna lead. Plug the FM modulator antenna lead into the other vehicle antenna lead. DASHBOARD OPENING PLAYER BASE-BRACKET WIRE TIE i -VES HARNESS FM MODULATOR ANTENNA LEAD FM MODULATOR ANTENNA LEAD 5409020Y 67. Align the end of the i -VES terminal with the end of the DIN harness terminal, and loop the harnesses. Secure the harness with two wire ties. To protect the center panel apply masking tape in the area shown. 70. Using scissors, cut one EPT sealer to the dimensions shown. CENTER PANEL EPT SEALER 10 mm Cut off the excess part. MASKING TAPE Cut off. 10 mm DVD PLAYER 2829040M 2506010T 71. Attach the two cut EPT sealers to the DVD player and cut off the excess portion. 69. Get the pocket. Using a utility knife, cut the two lugs off of the pocket. 72. Install one latch into each left and right player bracket. Plug the subharness 4-pin connector, the DIN harness terminal and the i -VES harness terminal into the rear of the DVD player (plug the i -VES harness terminal into the yellow label position). DVD PLAYER 76. Cut the excess piece of EPT sealer (from step 70) to the dimensions shown. PLAYER PANEL EPT SEALER (Cut off the marked area.)
