TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
IF CLEANING COMPOUNDS ARE NOT BEING INJECTED:
1. See if there are approved cleaning compounds in the injector box.
Install new bottle if necessary.
2. Water pressure in lines may be low. The injector needs 70 psi to
operate.
3. Pre-spray tool may be the wrong size or clogged. If cleaning the jet
does not remedy problem, verify your tool jet size with your dealer.
4. If the water supply has high calcium, mineral deposits or nonapproved cleaning compounds have been used in system, the
injector may be clogged or calcified. Call a qualified service person
to clean and re-adjust injector.
5. Make sure hot water outlets and cleaning solution injector are turned
on.
6. Periodically clean the filter in the pre-spray solution injector by
removing the brass nut and screen. Clean screen and carefully
replace.
IF MOTOR STARTS AND STOPS:


Power unit regularly stops to drain every 8 to 10 minutes and
automatically restarts. This is normal operation.
If motor momentarily starts and stops, the unit may be plugged into a
15 amp. Ground fault interrupter plug. Some of these will
temporarily cut out with a 12-ampere load without tripping, causing
the motor to start and stop. Plug into a regular outlet or higher rated
G.F.I. plug.
IF MOTOR FAILS TO RUN:



Check your main fuse or circuit breaker at the main power supply.
If necessary replace burnt fuse or reset breaker.
Check the reset button on the left side of the AQUA-AIR Wet/Dry®
power unit. Pressing button should restore service.
See if the float in the waste separation tank has dropped down to
normal empty position. Clean tank if there is debris obstructing the
float.
See if the 24-volt control circuit from the wall valves and on/off hose
(if used) is operating. Pull out the control circuit wire terminals from
the terminals connector on the side of the power unit, using a short
piece of wire short across contacts. If motor operates, check the
inlet valves and hose on/off switch. Replace if necessary.

If motor fails to operate call a qualified service person for service.





5
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
IF THE MOTOR FAILS TO RE-START AFTER DRAINING:
 If the tank is not draining immediately see if the debris screen is
too long and drops down into the drain blocking the outlet of the
tank.
 Check to see that the float can drop completely. If there is a debris
build-up, clean container. Assure that there is only 1” of wire
from the float to the tether.
IF THERE IS A LOSS OF VACUUM:
 See if flapper valve in the separation tank drain is closing when
vacuum starts. You can access the flapper by removing the large
cap in the valve housing at the bottom of the separation canister.
The flapper should move freely. Clean out any debris and replace
cap.
 The guard screen located in the separation tank above the cone
may have become clogged with debris. The guard screen is not
removable. Use a stiff brush and clear the screen of any debris.
 Hose may be obstructed. Using another hose (dry or wet/dry hose)
 reverse hose ends and vacuum backwards through the
obstructed hose.
 Wet/Dry hoses may be cleaned of debris by sucking up water to
which cleaning compound has been added
Automatically mixes pre-spray or extraction rinse cleaning
solutions.
*IMPORTANT*
This injector is designed specifically to dispense AQUA-AIR Wet/Dry®
cleaning concentrate. The use of carpet shampoo, all-purpose or automobile cleaners will result in clogging of injector and over-foaming of the
extractor. The use of this type of product will void the warranty of
Injector and Extractor.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Daily inspect the bottle of pre-spray or rinse to assure that there is
sufficient for the day’s use. After dry vacuuming pre-spray the carpets and
fabric, then hot water rinse and extract.

HELPFUL TIPS
 Do not allow motor to remain on unless a hose is connected and
in use, or an inlet valve is open. If air is not permitted to flow
through fan blades, motor damage may occur.
 Check debris screen on a regular basis, particularly when
vacuuming new carpets or picking up bulky items such as wood
shavings. Replace when two-thirds full.
 The guard screen located in the separation tank above the cone
may have become clogged with debris. The guard screen is not
removable.
 CAUTION: When using the residential wet/hose and tools,
connect the tool to the hose before connecting the water line to
the wall. Water can inadvertently be sprayed out if trigger is
depressed.
 When wet vacuuming, clean the hose and tools after each time they
are used. When cleaning is completed, rinse hose and tools by
sucking up water from a pail or sink, being careful to not fully
submerge the hose in water. Then allow vacuum to run for a few
minutes to dry out hose and line.
 If possible, leave holding tank (bottom chamber of the power unit)
open when not in use to air out. Depending on use, sucking a
gallon of premixed Aqua-Air Bio-enzyme cleaner/degreaser - Part
#SC05GL (8 oz in one gallon of warm water) will freshen hoses,
piping and holding tank.
 Wipe off tools and hose and store the hose on hose hanger. Loop
it over 3 -4 times so it hangs loosely on the rack.

To prevent odor in system, empty or replace debris screen regularly.

Residential Carpet
Since 1990, 90% of all carpet installed in consumer homes has been
5th generation, stain resistant nylon. A few existing cleaning restrictions
include: no water base detergents over the pH of 10, no solvents for overall
cleaning (spotting only) and no pesticides, sanitizers or disinfectant
solutions to be used. All of these products lead to degradation of the stain
resisting quality of the carpet.
The following process is appropriate for 5th generation nylon, other
synthetics and wool carpeting. If in doubt, pretest for effectiveness and
safety in an inconspicuous area of the carpet.
Steps:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
Thoroughly dry vacuum the carpet to be cleaned, using your AquaAir dry vacuum tools and attachments.
Mix carpet and fabric pre-spray (SC01GL) according to directions in
pump sprayer (AS01, AS05) and dampen soiled carpet.
Coverage will vary, 300-500 sq. ft. per 2 quarts, depending on the
soil level.
Allow to dwell on surface for 10-15 minutes.
Using the carpet-cleaning wand, move forward and back, spraying
the carpet with hot/warm water and extract soil and water. Repeat
back and forward motion 2-4 times until carpet is clean. After cleaning
a small section of carpet, go over freshly cleaned area with vacuum
part only. If residual soil and moisture exist, repeat back and forward
motion process 1-2 times.
Groom the carpet as necessary with carpet rake/groomer.
Allow carpet to dry, with minimal use. Most residential carpet will dry
in 4-6 hours. Some situations may require overnight drying. You can
speed up the drying process by using fans and increasing room air
temperature. Opening windows will help if outside air is warm with
low humidity.
Apply ‘‘Carpet Protector” per instructions.
14
Commercial Carpet
There are many different commercial environments from restaurants to
office buildings and everything in-between. The largest majority will be
synthetic carpets and responsive to the following procedure. Pretest
procedure in an inconspicuous area for effectiveness and safety.
Hardwood Floors
Most natural hardwood has been coated with a urethane or wax finish.
Chemical residues left behind by household and commercial cleaners can
prematurely damage these finishes. Using the Aqua-Air Wet/Dry® process
will help ensure extended life and appearance of your hardwood floor.
Steps:
1. Dry vacuum larger debris if necessary (small amounts of crumbs, grit
or particles will be easily removed in the wet process and don’t need
pre-vacuuming).
2. Dilute commercial heavy-duty pre-spray (SC02GL) according to
"hardwood" instructions on the label.
3. Lightly mist diluted solution on the hardwood floor.
4. Using the soft brush and squeegee attachment on the wand, mist
floor with hot/warm rinse water and use brush to lightly agitate
soiled areas. Extract soil and water with squeegee head and
suction. Repeat if necessary.
5. Floor will be instantaneously dry and ready for use (No chemical
residue)
Tile & Grout Floor (Residential)
Same as "hardwood floor" except cleaning solution may be diluted less to
increase strength.
Tile & Grout Floor (Restaurant Kitchen or Similar Floor)
Heavy soil conditions usually apply in restaurant situations and will usually
require these additional steps.
Steps:
1.
2.
Use a broom and dust pan to collect larger debris such as, food
pieces, straws, napkins etc. Food crumbs and greasy residues
will be removed in the wet process.
Dilute commercial heavy-duty pre-spray (SC02GL) as per instructions
and generously wet down floor with ready-to-use cleaning solution.
15
3.
4.
5.
In heavy soil conditions a deck/scrubbing brush should be used to
scrub solution and soil on the floor.
Using the wand with commercial brush and squeegee attachment,
spray floor with rinse water and squeegee dry. Repeat as necessary.
Note; If your system has been installed with the chemical injector
(AA031 or AA033), then the rinse water should be mixed with multisurface cleaner (SC05GL). This will increase cleaning, odor control
and help keep the vacuum piping and power unit fresh.
Tile and grout will be clean and instantaneously dry.
CLEANING PROCESSES & PROCEDURES
Linoleum, Vinyl, Stone, Concrete etc.
All of these surfaces can and should be cleaned using the Aqua-Air Wet/Dry®
process. These surfaces should be cleaned using the "hard- wood" or "tile &
grout" procedures previously outlined. The procedures should vary slightly
from those printed, depending on location and soil conditions.
Auto Interior Carpet & Upholstery
The same procedures should be followed for either private use or service
performed by a professional.
Steps:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
Thoroughly dry vacuum carpet and upholstery. Use crevice tools
etc. to reach soil. Note; Auto interiors are usually heavily soiled and
wetting unvacuumed dry soil, turns it to mud and makes it more
difficult to remove. Pre-vacuum well!
Generously pre-spray carpet & upholstery with commercial heavyduty pre-spray (SC02GL). Dilute per instructions.
Allow to dwell 15-20 minutes to break down soils. Agitating with
scrub brush may accelerate this process.
Using your Aqua-Air Wet/Dry® upholstery tool. Spray hot/warm
rinse and extract using a forward & back motion until clean. Revacuum same area to pick as much soil moisture as possible.
Allow drying. Use fans to accelerate drying.
Apply “Carpet Protector” to carpet and fabric seats per instructions.

Frequently Answers and Questions

How often should I check and replace the debris screen?
It's recommended to check the debris screen regularly, especially after vacuuming new carpets or picking up bulky items. Replace it when it's two-thirds full.
What type of cleaning solutions can I use with the Aqua-Air Wet/Dry 150?
It's designed to work with Aqua-Air Wet/Dry cleaning concentrates. Using other cleaners may damage the system and void the warranty.
What are the water requirements for the Aqua-Air Wet/Dry 150?
It requires both hot and cold water sources. Connect the hot water to the water outlets and cleaning solution injector, and the cold water to the separation tank rinse.
What should I do if the motor starts and stops?
It might be plugged into a 15 amp. Ground fault interrupter plug. If so, try plugging it into a regular outlet or higher rated G.F.I. plug.
