The AnaBat Express can run for up to 14 nights on 4 alkaline AA batteries. Battery life will depend on the condition and type of batteries being used, as well as ambient temperature, length of your recording session and amount of bat activity/ambient noise.

To download the data, simply remove the SD card from the detector and insert it into your computer or an external SD card reader. You can then copy the files from the SD card to your computer.

The Schedule mode allows you to set a custom recording schedule. The Night Only mode will automatically turn the detector on 30 minutes before sunset and off 30 minutes after sunrise. The Continuous mode will record continuously until the batteries run out, the SD card becomes full, or the detector is turned off.
